No. It's literally because arsenals are allowed for private property. Other countries have bigots. They don't have mass shootings. They basically nailed this topic discussing Shinzo Abe. Every dipshit can get a gun, so most violence is carried out by morons, a trait that lends itself to bigotry.
@marshaltito7232

@@justcommenting4981 McVeigh's fertilizer bomb and the box truck used during the Bastille Day massacre killed more people than any individual US mass shooting. Yeah guns make a spur of the moment spree a bit easier but determined loonies will find a way. Saying banning guns will solve the problem is like saying banning drugs solved the addiction crisis, it just didn't and in many ways made it worse. The problem is that bad faith actors are allowed to whip idiots into a violent frenzy. You don't see leftist mass shootings. When violent and cruel ideologies are allowed to propagate its not surprising to see violence spring up like weeds.

@@marshaltito7232 guns are not drugs, in multiple extremely obvious ways. I find it funny you have to reach back...how many decades to find an equivalent non gun massacre. It's very simple. Do they have this problem nearly as consistently in any other functioning country? No. Do they have right wing reactionaries? Yes. Good luck banning tweets or being an "ally" or whatever moronic bullshit to #stophate. DUh iF OnLy hE dIdnT seE duh lIbs oF tIk TOk. @marshaltito7232
@marshaltito7232 2 жыл бұрын
@@justcommenting4981 The Bastille Day massacre happened in 2016. Countries that don't have massive problems with right wing terrorism are countries that have media and political systems that don't amplify violent voices. The US specifically has a media and political circus that has monetary gain in amplifying calls of violence, be it trying to reach people that will believe them or the inverse of "look how dumb this is", both amplifying the hateful rhetoric. I'm not saying the left should arm themselves or whatever because that's clearly not a solution. I'm saying that with tens of millions of guns in circulation, gun control simply wouldn't work, especially when taking grandfather clauses into account. It's an obfuscation by media and politicians to pass the buck away from the root causes of right wing terrorism, specifically their roles in amplifying it. Many other countries have armed civilians too and don't have the problems the US does, Canada, Switzerland, and Finland are prime examples. I'm not saying that trying to censor people will work either because that's a great way to get people to attach themselves to those hateful messages. The point is that we all have a hand to blame in spreading the messages of hate to those dejected enough to act violently on them, and until we collectively reject them, and the systems that spread them, no amount of policy will fix the problem. But sure just project your own grievances on my comment with your "Purge" malarkey. That's a productive way to converse.
@justcommenting4981
@justcommenting4981 2 жыл бұрын
@@marshaltito7232 US media is not only globally available, other countries DO amplify rhetoric against minority groups themselves. It's not even remotely isolated to the U.S. In fact trans people have a BETTER platform and visibility than they do in many other comparable countries because of our media presence. 2016 was also the Pulse Nightclub shooting, next year followed by a Las Vegas shooting. Just those 2 guys, not even counting all the other regular shootings in that time killed nearly 100 people. Blaming media makes you look like an idiot. If you aren't calling for anyone to arm themselves you're even more worthless because you lack even that simple conviction. You aren't going to "push them out." How would you? By posting? If only people had posted harder all these people would still be alive. Are you going to hold them accountable then push them out, or push them out then hold them accountable? If only we held them accountable we could ban hate in society. That will do the trick. Ending hatred is WAY more realistic than curtailing the availability of firearms like every other country has figured out how to do.

Because when you're in that economic strata and with that normal intellect, you think you're it, the geniuses. You think you're the apex. But what's their physical aptitudes ? Creativity skills? Communication? All that other shit? These people have never introspected and questioned themselves or faced a challenge in their lives. 'so rather than focus too much on these cowards & the monsters they inspire to do their killing for them, i want to instead focus on something i was most struck by in the media coverage of this horror, which are the parents of one of the victims of the Q nightclub shooting. a trans man named Daniel Aston. Sabrina & Jeff Aston, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, who moved to colorado springs, and later their son daniel followed them there, and found life & community there with them centered around Club Q where he worked as a bartender. Now what struck me was both their incredible dignity & strength in the murder of their son, but also the fact they knew their son was trans from the time he was four years old & loved & supported him for his entire life. they always knew who their son was & never doubted it. & what i'm stuck with is these people, & i'm not even gonna speak their names anymore, you know who they are, want to make impossible for queer & trans people, having parents that love you, friends, a job, & a life. their goal is to take that away from you & they'll do anything to make it happen, so it's the duty of all of us, the majority of decent people in this country, to stop them. to fight this evil. & i'm not talking about banning someone's social media account.'

Matt doesn't seem to understand what happened in The Time Machine. The upper classes of society spent so long being worthless inheritors of wealth that they degenerated into the moronic, child like Eloi, and the clever working class that was separated from them living underground building and maintaining all the machines turned into the intelligent, although physically warped, Morlocks. The divide got so big that the Morlocks decided to literally start keeping the Eloi as livestock since the Eloi were so helpless they didn't even understand that they were being farmed and eaten. It's a story that's the opposite of what the morons in this episode think will happen where the useful members of society were the wretched poor who evolved to completely eclipse the rich, worthless morons.

I see a bright future for land-grant technical/agricultural universities in raising engineers and animal scientists who can make humanity's Eloi/Morlock destiny a reality. With the addition, of course, of intermarriage. Eventually we will all be Elocks, some clever and worthless, some wealthy and hideous. Ie, right back where we are today.

@@AJ_Battle Warhammer is (deliberately) fashier, catholic Dune. I know the irony with the whole Orange Catholic thing, but Dune is really orientalist in a way Warhammer isn't and these people are skulpted from dollops of mayonaise. That and they'd make servitors in like 10 seconds if they could, which is kind of against the whole point of Dune.

After listening and watching Tony from 1Dime interview the Collins' couple on his podcast, I would say the writer of the article read on this Chapo episode makes the Collins seem weirder and way more out of touch than they are. For the record, they are weird, but also strangely well meaning and the husband seems more autistic than the wife who is actually diagnosed as being on the spectrum. Interestingly, the Collins on 1Dime Radio express and agree with several points that Matt Christman makes here (a year earlier) from his analysis of the article, so it's possible they listened to this Chapo episode about themselves and incorporated it into their views or pitch.
