Sadman Baseball

Күн бұрын

Lonnie Chisenhall and I have a baseball history that goes back to our childhood. In this video I talk about a time where Lonnie and I had a moment where he ended up sad. Lonnie's baseball career had its ups and its downs but was worthy of deeper analysis. I analyze his baseball career, and critique the biggest moments of his mlb career. Sprinkle in a little sadness, and hey, we've got ourselves a sadman video.
Help me with the next video! I'm gathering data about how fans feel about specific plays. This link will take you to a questionnaire on google forms. Thanks!

My uncle used to live in the same town Lonnie grew up in. My uncles friend had a tobacco farm and they would go into town every year and get kids from the high school to come help with the harvest. Every year for 4 years they’d ask him if he wanted to come help out and his response was always “I’m sorry I can’t come help, I have to practice because I’m gonna be a Major League Baseball player one day”.

baseball is unforgiving, i'm from Italy born and raised with soccer so i never experienced the joy or the sadness of hitting a ball or missing one. your personal experience with him gives the idea of how hard it is to play and how high the level is when you finally put your cleats on those MLB fields

Hi Sadman. Recently came here because I watched a Jon Bois video and love high quality sports videos. Remember hearing your name come up and found your channel. Let me just say I am floored with the level of content and storytelling you bring to the table. Incredible work! On another note, a great sad story could be of Mickey Mantle, who while great, could have been even greater had he not struggled with alcohol and injury his entire career.

ENTER SADMAN! Well done as always, man. I'm a lifelong Tribe fan and Lonnie was always a fan favorite---I remember the 9 RBI game vividly. You are a jedi master in whatever you call this trippy subgenre of MLB video content so while you obviously need no guidance, I'd be curious to see your take on Chris Shelton's absurd start to the 2006 season followed by a fairly 'sad' decline...seems right in your wheelhouse. Anyway, keep it up man, your videos are unmatched.

On your questionnaire, I like watching good pitching, but it either needs to be knee buckling stuff or clutch performances that change my excitement level. Your average strikeout now occurring as often as it is (looking or swinging), where all sides quickly acknowledging and moving on, is what I imagine you had in mind and I have them rated lowly for it.
