When a Liberian man brought Ebola to Lagos, Nigeria. We were able to isolate and stop it in about 2 weeks- a month. Sadly we lost the carrier and one of the doctors who first responded to the victim. In Sierra Leone the virus was too far embedded in their society to properly root out. I hope the lost souls Rest In Peace and they find a cure for this horrific virus

I can’t believe it’s been 4 years. I’ve seen this video before, but this is the first time i cried during it. I’ve learned a lot about immunology, microbiology, and infectious disease since 2014. Because I know how this virus works, I have a better understanding of the miserable way that they died. They bled to death from the inside out. It broke my heart to see fallah shake like that. And to know that all that can be done is minimal supportive care on the wet ground outside in a tent.... god bless these patients.

The pain and sadness in the volunteer gravediggers' eyes are heartbreaking. I'm so sad Fallah didn't make it. Fallah, Kadiatu and their four boys made such a beautiful family.
