*To me there is nothing like the original Polo Green released 40+ years ago. It was magic in everyway. As they reformulated it, I realised it was not the same and stopped buying it. I had high hopes of experienceing the original fragrance in this 2021 realease, but as you've said they are not the same. I would pay anything to have the original fragragrace back. Unfortunately, that will never happen. Apparently, a type of oakmoss extract used in the 70s and 80s in no longer legal to use. I have no clue as to the reason. That particular oak moss is what gave the original polo that fresh and super green scent. Now it has been replaced with a harsh synthetic leather and is super dissapointing.

I enjoy the grapefruit freshness but I agree nothing like the original. It's so different but I like it.

Nothing will ever replace the original. I wore it for years in the 70’s. I recently bought a bottle. It still smells great, maybe not the specific notes from the original but very close. My wife instantly said that smells great! What is that cologne? Still rocking!

It does smell nice but similar to some other colognes I have. The original is so iconic unique, and lasts longer than any other polo fragrance. Not everyone likes the original's scent but I personally prefer the original.

Picked this up today. I love it for the hot climate but agree, it's far from intense. Polo Green Sport or Polo Green Blue (lol!) Would be a better name.

Polo fragrances smells good but it's not long lasting and projection is moderate unless on my skin

i just got this. im loving this. these herbs are fresh here . citrus on top . dry down is a classy woody and a little clean vetiver. i got a strong bottle so this will work in the fall and everything other than the coldest winter months. it changes real nice . fun release . i lke it . clean, fresh , fragrant and fun. i like it :) .

I really want to sample this as I love grapefruit. I wasn't a fan of the original so I don't care if it smells like it or not. Great review otherwise.

I’m the opposite with the current green formulation. The opening is a nostril-ruining blast of some note I’m not learned enough to identify, but dries down to smell pretty much like it always has

The notes virtually don't overlap, but maybe they're aiming for similar effects relative to the era each's released...if that makes sense to you. :)

Well at least it's a good smelling fragrance .😅 It appears to me that, they were trying to make it seem like they brought the original scent DNA back. They didn't even use pine needles. What a let down. Please let me know what's on the market these days concerning older bottles and prices. And also some alternatives(niche,clones,designer, cheapies, etc.)that'll scratch that itch I have for amazing scent profile of Polo Green.

Loved your review on Polo Intense. I have been a Polo fan since its 1978 release. Not sure I gonna like the new stuff. Got to get to a tester to check it out. I need some advice if you will, please sir. Are you familiar with Eddie Bauer Adventurer? It was discontinued a decade or so ago. If you are familiar with it, would you know of a cologne that is close to the scent of EB Adventurer? I appreciate any help you can give me.

I bought a 100ml about a month ago...Not my favorite...I paid 100 bucks for it....Smells nothing like the Polo the original! I also have the original polo from cosmair and the newer stuff and i also have the aftershave bottle full still....dont really use that stuff anymore really into the Tom Ford Noir De Noir or Tom Ford Moss Breches or Oud wood intense...or Creed Tabarome or Aventus.....i got them and are into that sort of stuff....

Thanks. I like the concept of a Polo Green update. Execution is an abject failure. Super synthetic smelling from opening to dry down, for any designer. Somewhat surprised your take is not the same. Dry down becomes a very generic shower gel fragrance. Disappointed.
