Honestly this may be a hot take, but I like the CinemaScope Tom and Jerry cartoons, I think the style fits the series on how even though it on lively and colourful, everyone is always beating each other up all the time, which really subverts expectations for those who never seen Tom and Jerry, though honestly who hasn’t!

I know the folks at Warner Archive are focusing more on the older shorts, but I would love to see remastered high definition releases of great 90s Warner Bros animation like Tiny Toons, Taz-Mania, Animaniacs, Pinky & the Brain, Freakazoid, and Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries.
@DaveLeeDownUnder12 күн бұрын
They’ve released a few “modern” cartoons under their banner including Teen Titans, Beware the Batman, Batman Brave and the Bold, and Harley Quinn). They’re quick and easy releases for them as they don’t require any kind of restoration (or at least, extensive restoration) and don’t typically take up a releases lot for something else. I wouldn’t be surprised if they started putting out more contemporary stuff soon enough.
I see this as the Ceo of WB wanting to get rid of the Hanna Barbera, Looney Tunes, and Cartoon Network content on Max. However, its cool some of the classics are being brought to home media
@benmalsky983410 күн бұрын
I don’t believe that’s the case. What happens on home video has nothing to do with what happens on streaming services.
@JimmyG9612 күн бұрын
The release I'm most excited for is Tom and Jerry: The Complete CinemaScope Collection. The dream T&J Blu-Ray collection I was hoping WAC to make, nor are the CinemaScope Tom and Jerry's the best cartoons of Bill and Joe's original run... but they're still pretty good, and I'm glad they're getting a proper release. They're probably going to use the same transfers that were done for the T&J Spotlight Collection DVDs 20 years ago (aka. the ONLY cartoons on those sets that were actually restored)... which is good because they were all restored in their correct aspect ratios. The only exception was Pup on a Picnic, which for some reason was presented cropped to 16:9, but it was still restored in it's correct ratio and can easily be fixed with this release. Hopefully this will open the door for WAC to release more T&J Collections on Blu-Ray.
@benmalsky983410 күн бұрын
For me, my dream T&J Blu-Ray sets are ones for Gene Deitch and Chuck Jones’ different runs with the characters. Yes I know they are not considered as great as Bill & Joe’s run, but they still deserve the restoration treatment from WAC.

Daffy Duck's Quackbusters is a bunch of theatrical cartoons rehashed into a movie with new animations connecting them. Unfortunately they didn't speed up Porky's voice like they did in the original cartoons and it's very noticeable. Especially when they switch between the new animations and the fillers.
