Ages ago, an ancient race known as the Precursors created planets using the energy known as Eco, but their prosperity would come to an end. As time passed, their legend grew but details of their demise were shrouded in mystery. The only clues are the artifacts they left behind.
On one Precursor planet, the Eco is now managed by Sages, specializing in their own Eco Type: the life-giving Green Eco, the Blue Eco of motion, the Red Eco of strength, the long-range Yellow Eco, and the destructive Dark Eco.
You are a young man named Jak. You've been raised by the Green Sage, Samos, with your best friend, Daxter, and the sage's daughter Keira. For years, Samos told you there is one place on the planet you must never visit: Misty Island. So, rebellious 15 year olds, Jak and Daxter take a boat to Misty Island, but are attacked by an evil Lurker. In the scuffle, Daxter is knocked into a pool of Dark Eco and transformed into an Ottsel. Now the only person who can restore his human form is the Dark Sage, who may not be such a nice guy. Oh, and you'll have to walk because the Sages' teleporters aren't working.

Dylan Seaton Naughty dog is simply clever, the people out there are not like Call of duty compony; they care only for money. I think when u end something in its summit glorious time, it would be glorious forever. I'm a fan of all their games, but they understand when it's the time to end a game for good.

The first game's story was fairly simple. And what you did in the gameplay wasn't entirely in-sync with the story, itself, but it was still VERY fun.

I still don't see why Ratchet and Clank gets a new game every or every other year but Jak and Daxter doesn't. Even if it was a big change from the old art style, do they not remember the big changes they made from Jak 1 to 2, i still theirs enough story for them to make one more game imo.

+Narros Jefferson Insomniac milked the fuck out of Rachet and clank after crack in time the quality was meh. Jak 4 was actually on the verge of being created, back in 2011 but ND some how in the process of making it ended up with the last of us. They felt like if their hearts weren't in the game it would turn up like shit maybe after uncharted 4 we can get Jak 4. Theirs official art work of it if you look it up. Naughty kept trying to make it but everytime it would lead to a more realistic tone of design for Jak and Daxter and they felt that the tone would be to real for a Jak game.

That was the lore of the first game, second: After discovering an artifact named the rift Jak and the gang accidentely travel to the far future. They are seperated for 2 years and an evil guy named Baron Praxis who is also the king of the city does dark eco experiments on you during this period. After Daxter helps you escape you find out that the city you are in is covered in crime and a corrupt goverment. With your newfound dark eco powers you join the rebellion and seek revenge on the Baron. Jak 3: Jak saved Haven city but is seen as a dangerous monster to the public. Exciled into the wasteland he got rescued by Damas the king of Spargus. Trying to survive Jak needs to prove himself to the wastelanders but discovers that the earth is yet in danger because the Dark Makers are coming and they seek to destroy the earth. With newfound Light eco powers given by the precursors themselves to counter your dark side, Jak needs to save the world yet again while struggling with being abandoned by his close friends.

I know there are two more which aren't main title games, but I'll get them a recap anyway. Daxter- After Jak and Daxter's separation in the second game, Daxter is reduced to telling tales about himself at local bars in hopes of someone taking him seriously. It is here which Daxter finds and old man named Osmo, who works for the Kirdder Ridder extermination company, and gives Daxter a job. Over the course of the game you'll whack bugs and eventually head to the palace to free your old buddy. Have fun. Jak X- Jak, Keira, Daxter, Torn, and Ashelin attend Krew's last will, hosted by his daughter Rayn in Kras City. However, it turns out that Krew had poisoned the wine, and they all would die from it if one of them did not win the Kras City Combat Racing Grand Championship, in which they would participate in a deadly race to the finish line. And with a crime syndicate led by the mysterious Mizo against them, they'll need guts, wit, and reflexes to take home the gold and save their lives. Have fun. Jak And Daxter: The Lost Frontier- Jak, Daxter, and Keira head to the literal brink if the world in order to find the Eco Cire, a way to solve the worlds eco shortage. After Sky Pirates shoot your Hellcat down it is up to you to take down the Sky Pirates and fix the world's dying eco. Have fun.

there is one place in the world you must never go. MISTY ISLAND! what about the forest temple overrun with dark creatures and a giant plant monster? nah, that's cool if you want to go. the ocean where you will immediately be eaten by a giant fish? pft, no big deal. the ancient underground ruins also overrun with monsters? the mines full of dark eco and even more monsters? the sheer cliffs atop a dangerous icy mountain? an active volcano? nah, those places are all cool. just remember, that island with a lot of mist is super dangerous.

I never got how the Green Sage could be Keira's father. The Green Sage was originally from the future and brought Jak to the past while he was a little kid. Keira is the same age as Jak, and yet she wasn't around in the future as a little kid.

how about they make a realistic reboot.. just expanding apon the concepts of the original games (making them way awesomer) and then after the third reboot they make Jak 4. I have so many great ideas if I made the reboots. they would have all the same missions and the exact same storyline just a lot more of everything and that looks so beautiful and immersive. for the ppl that want it to stay cartoony.. the potential for immersion with the realistic idea would outweigh the potential if it were cartoony

I feel like this could have been done better, and Daxter wasn't raised with Jak they grew up in the same village as best friends but not raised together, this makes it sound like all three grew up in the same house.

+S3rp3rior you have a good first point but considering how spread out the few people you meet are they could have lived south of that village in a different one or he could have simply been an orphan that had a little squatters shack some where near the village in a little cave or something. no one can really tell for sure since the surroundings of the game weren't as fleshed out as games today are. after playing the new PS4 RC game I'd love it if Naughtydog did the same for Jak and Daxter, maybe it would include his parents and Keira's mom. but as it stands the feeling I got from the game was that they didn't row up in the same house only Jak and Keira.
