Lorgar: Dissected (conversion review)

Lorgar Aurelian survives the Horus Heresy more or less intact, much to the chagrin of those loyal to The Emperor (and even a few traitors). In modest remedy, this video provides a slice of comeuppance to this most filthy of traitors, via the medium of seeing his Forge World model sliced and diced to the thirsting conversion gods.

Lorgar is a very interesting character (unintended Founder of the Ecclesiarchy) and really should be the primary antagonist of the narrative - not Abbadon. It just makes sense, especially with the return of Guilliman and their history. Such a missed opportunity by the game designers.

Lorgar is indeed an interesting character. The history of the story development shows that Abaddon was set up as a direct successor to Horus, an individual whose bellicosity matched that of the destroyed Warmaster. Development of the traitor primarchs followed slowly over the years and was only really developed in detail with the coming of the Horus Heresy novels. Lorgar was never a warlord but a scholar and a priest and I find it adds interesting depth to the setting that Aurelian isn't the leader of chaos' war against the Imperium - in the same way none of his brothers were despite their obvious potential to do so. And that's part of the story - they all got what they deserved and became daemons more interested in the affairs of the neverborn within the Eye of Terror, and the eternal conflicts of Khorne vs. Slaanesh and Nurgle vs. Tzeentch. No, it fell to a mortal(ish) whose motivations had not been completely consumed by chaos to lead those terrible Black Crusades.

Ah, now there's an interesting short story idea. Emperor sees Ferrus working on Illuminarum in the Terran forges and sees the 8-pointed mace head. Experiences the "do I tell him about chaos?" crisis of secrecy.

Thanks Robert! I believe Space Marine backpacks are supposed to contain power supply and life support systems for their armour. Perhaps spacesuits of the modern world provide a crude comparison as they fulfil a similar role?

Stunning re-pose, I much prefer that to the original, which is still cool, but yours is exceptional. I wonder if he is the next Primarch to get a new sculpt? With the recent Horus Asscended, would Lorgar Transfigured make logical sense to be next?
