The path of spiritual awakening can begin without warning. When it does start, get ready for one of the most amazing spiritual journeys you could imagine. There's nothing you can do to really prepare for the spiritual growth you'll experience because the spiritual path isn't a path.
This is the beginning of my story of why I left Christianity. The religious deconstruction I've gone through and the stages of spiritual awakening I've experienced. I can say that I left church, but I didn't leave God.

I read the Bible and studied extensive biblical research. The entire thing has been debunked. My daughter converted to Islam so I did to to make her happy. But then I read the Quran and realized it's the same bullshit. I'm an atheist now. As an atheist I get my Morality from empathy, integrity and compassion. A few things xtians lack

Those lived in the 1st testament timeline, now , in church age and timeline to come, tribulation, all times mankind suffers from sinful nature. Before claiming GOD to be evil, 1st learn to understand HIS reasons. Mankind WAS IS AND REMAIN SICK AND EVIL. Many amongst us are: John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

One aspect of the 2LofT shows that the universe is winding down, usable energy is becoming less usable. Creation had to be done supernaturally at some point.

@daniel allen - That's a great point about diets & religion...that different things can work for different people but there is a commonality that can be agreed upon - like avoiding junk food (when it comes to diets) and loving others (when it comes to religion).

Christian here. But I still struggle just like everybody else. Just because you follow God, doesn't exempt Christians from trials and periods of struggling. What I recognize is that when I hear people explain why they're fed up with God, it usually sounds like it's not God that's the one they are fed up with, it's people. People are making their life terrible. Can't find work, can't find a wife or spouse? Is that God's fault, or is it people's fault; you can't find a spouse, because the people you want to be with won't let you. Can't find a job, people won't hire you...but you can still always volunteer at your local church. That's the issue with atheists. They complain and complain about God this, God that. But they don't contribute anything positive to society. Studies show that Atheists are less likely to donate to charities or volunteer to help out the community, or donate to the poor. And if they do, and they've done so much, then why does America still have homeless. You can't blame God, that's people standing in the way of God's blessing. What you don't see, is the everyday blessings (like not dying from covid during a pandemic, or insert your miracle work here) that God does. He doesn't have to prove Himself to anybody, what makes you any different from the people complaining about God way back in BC? I've seen those atheist reddit communities, many of them aren't even on there anymore, and are extremely lost and depressed. For me, my faith in Jesus and prayer is what got me through my worst depression and helped me even overcome my deepest despair. Bottomline, now is the absolute worst time to be an atheist. Fact of the matter is The Rapture is coming, and those who were once Christian but turned and denied God will be rushing to try and get God to take them with Him, but they'll be left behind, and will have to wait for Jesus’ return, but they’ll be doing so with all the other evil, satanic worshipers, and overall wicked people trying to destroy them. From the look of things, you don't exactly appear to have given up on God (you would’ve have made this video with the title if you did), and I think you're still a Christian deep down, you just want to hear God's voice. Well, here it is, God sent me to send you this message: Everybody is struggling, because right now it's a test. A trial. He wants to see who truly believes in Him, and who just doesn't want to go to hell. This is why God seems so distant, but He isn't. He's testing His people. For nonbelievers this bad and horrible time will get exceedingly worse, but for Christians and believers, it will be bad for a bit, but then things will become immensely awesome beyond words they can't describe. I invite you to rejoin God again my brother, all you have to do is say these words and believe them in your heart. "Dear Lord Jesus, I believe that you are my God. I believe that you are the Son of the Living God. I open up my heart to receive you as my personal savior. I invite you into my life, for the rest of my life. I'm yours. Help me to live the way that I should, the right way. In Jesus name, amen." And literally that's it! Say that prayer aloud, and believe it with your whole heart, and you will be saved, and rise on the day of the Rapture. Something tells me you'll rededicate your life to God, and that things will be better for you. I can feel it.

Christian here-We all Broke the 10 commandments(God's Laws), Because we all lied, lusted etc we all deserve his wrath and Judgement which is Hell Forever. The good news is that 2k years ago The Lord Jesus Christ came and died on the cross and rose 3 days later defeating satan and death. If You repent and turn to Christ and Have Faith in Him Alone his death,burial and resurrection to save you, you will go to Heaven and Not Hell. We are all deserving of Hell but Christ came to save you not to cast you out.

I completely agree with you. The Bible says "As a man thinketh, so is he" ( Proverbs 23:7). Jesus said "As you believe, so shall it be done unto you" (Matthew 9:29). In short, if we "believe" something to be a certain way, often times this thought process will become our reality. For example: I use to believe that Barack Obama was the best thing since sliced bread. (smile) At one time, I really did♥️🙏😊

We believe what we do out of necessity, that's all. All of our beliefs have their formation in the unconscious part of our minds. Unfortunately it's that part that we don't have a direct access to. It's not a waste of time to do this video . Many people come to this point while in their human bodies here on this planet we call Earth in this vast vast universe that God,through the Lord Jesus Christ created for us as humans . One of the things that He warns us humans,whom He created especially wonderful and in His own image , is that we humans have an enemy . This enemy of us biggest goal is to rob and steal as many human beings souls as he can away from God and the eternal life He has for us . One of the many ways he uses is to bring about false believes or religions in order for many humans not to find the True way , which is the Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God. For Jesus Himself said that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father accept through Him. So in order for a human being to find God , Jesus is the One who takes you to Him. If you have Jesus ,you have eternal life, but those who don't have Jesus has not life . That is why God says in The Bible in John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him might not perish but have Life everlasting Because we as a human race,created by God for Him , rebelled and sinned and became darkened through our sin,we all got seperated from Him . But because God didn't wanna cut us off at the end of this age and still wanted us to be reunited to Him , He had to do something about our sins and that's why He gave Jesus ro come down to earth 2000 years ago to become a human being and die on the Cross of Calvary in Jerusalem, Israel. On the Cross He took our sins on Him and God raised Jesus from the dead on the 3rd day and He ascended back to heaven and He is alive. So when you receive Jesus , God don't see you and your sins anymore, but He sees Jesus, who is perfect and Holy . So we don't go to heaven because of what we do or don't do, but because of Jesus in you . And this is what the enemy of our souls want us to forget , and He wil do all he can to steal your faith Because by grace we are saved through faith Your faith is worth more then all the gold on earth and in heaven .. When Peter looked at Jesus he didn't just walk on water , it was dark that moment ,there was a storm ,not calm seas , and a wind was blowing . As he looked at Jesus , he got out of that boat of safety he was in and a miracle happened. That stormy seas , and wind that blew and darkness should've killed them in that boat , but because his focus was on Jesus ,and not himself he walked on that which would've killed him . As Jesus is from everlasting to everlasting, and as He is the beginning and the end of all things , the One who holds the whole physical universe together , and is seated above all things , even the Sun and moon and every planet in each and every galaxy obeys Him , and as you were on His mind ,not only in eternity past , but also when He was on the Cross, to pay for your soul so you may be with Him in heaven forever, take your focus away from this world and all the natural surroundings and start focusing on Him , for He Loves you .... Draw near to Him and He wil draw near to you ! Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. He wil let all things work together for those who love Him and were called for His purposes Start focusing on Him and the things He says in the Bible . I've never really been religious I've always been an atheist. I'm also not a bad person I would give anybody the shirt off my back if it was all they needed for help. He used to work at a hardware store in that I talked to this guy all the time that came in and bought stuff. We were friendly and I called him by his first name and everything. And then one day religion was brought up and I had to tell him that I was an atheist. He avoided me like the plague after that. Even though nothing had really changed except my status as a religious person was now known. So who is actually the not-so-good person in that scenario? I don't think it was me I will say that

To your question…can we have authentic love and compassion without religion…Yes, absolutely! You said it…from our Humanity…we can and do love, express authentic compassion for another human being, animal, plants even. I found many “religious” folks who were forcing themselves to be loving, understanding, or compassionate did so only to avoid the wrath of God and hell. No real, genuine love, but clearly disingenuous compassion. Christians, for many, are self-serving in this way.

They've done studies on this -- people hooked up to polygraphs respond more energetically to images of violence or danger than they do peaceful fields of flowers or kittens, for example.

I ended up leaving Christianity because the Bible was full of contradictions as well as false historical events. It's one of the main reasons there are multiple interpretations for the faith, because each author of the Bible kept trying to insert their own doctrines for what Christianity would become. The final result is that the book is inconsistent, yet still asserted as holy and perfect. I couldn't ignore the flaws I saw and eventually was able to let it go. Not to mention it's one religion of thousands, and several other religions have their own versions of hell too. Seems more like a scare tactic to keep believers in line, the way I see it.

Bible stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. What was intended to be a simple instructions manual on how to live life ( thou shall not lie, steal, kill, envy, honor thy mother and father, keep the Sabbath day and keep God first), has somehow turned into a multi Billion dollar industry. In closing, I would like to say that Jesus says in Matthew 5:17 "I did not come here to abolish God's laws ( thou shall not lie,steal kill etc.) He goes onto say "I came here to full fill God's laws. And then, In Matthew 19:17 Jesus says, "why do you call me good, no one is good but God Alone"( also written in Luke 18:19; Mark 10:27). He goes onto say "If you want to enter God's kingdom, keep the Commandments" ( Matthew 19:17--19) He goes onto to say "Anyone who teaches otherwise shall be condemned in the kingdom". And none of the Multi Million dollar preachers ever bother to mention these "key" scriptures. Meanwhile the prisons are filled with people who have been misled.🤕☹️😞

@@Bobbyking-g4b The main issues I have with it come from the fact that the Bible is taken literally, despite the fact that it definitely shouldn't be. The New Testament was written by anonymous authors who are considered to be Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John; but there's no real evidence to support that. There's also the fact that the events of Jesus's death were recorded decades after the supposed events took place and was passed down orally until then. If the game of telephone has taught us anything, it's that a message can easily become muddled that way. Then when considering that this is one religion of thousands making bold unprovable claims; I don't see why anyone would take these very mythological events so literally. Talking snakes, talking donkeys, the world being set on pillars, an alleged world wide flood that historically never happened, etc. I think it's finally time that this fear mongering religion is finally retired imo.

I like your video. I wonder why people leave religion, and listening to your views answered those questions. I stopped going to church when I saw preachers getting arrested for hurting kids, and other people. I did research on everything they've done from the dark ages to the present to the Columbus invasions of America against the Native people to the 1940's that led to the German war. Every detail of these events have kept me wondering should I be a part of something that seem so dark today. They are still doing very terrible things today, and getting away with it. Everything keeps showing up on the news all the time. I don't want to listen to people that are doing ugly things, but don't get caught. I don't blame you. I wanted something peaceful in my life. I still believe, but don't trust anyone that wants to tell me how to live my life. I'm an adult.

"You Must be Born Again." Jesus Christ (Jn. 3:3) No matter how you look at it, if you don't have the Born Again experience (that Jesus Christ spoke of) you will not have what you need to actually know that the Christian faith is real. That's why John said that we who believe have the witness in ourselves. We have the Spirit of Christ Living in us testifying to us that the Christian faith is real. When you've had that life transforming experience, and when you have that day-to-day walk with God having been baptized for Real by the Holy Ghost, you know that the Christian faith (and the Word of God) is real and no one can take that away from you with any false research, false facts, nor anything else. So you know that Jesus Christ gave His life for us and rose again, and He's coming back again just as much as you know that the air you breathe is real, just as much as you know that you are a real individual, and even more so because without God there is no us humans nor anything else. And actually because the Word of God says that in the last days that there shall come a great falling away and many shall depart from the faith of Jesus Christ, when you leave the faith of Jesus Christ, all you do is continue to prove the faith of Jesus Christ to be true and the Word of God to be accurate. Repent and believe the Gospel! Jesus Christ shall soon return. God loves us all. Amen.

Christianity is an interpretation of the meaning of life based on shame (for "sins") and fear of damnation by some outside entity. Good for you to explore your life. Not only did they die spiritually right away, but eventually they died physically. Everything dies, animals, plants, etc... Sin brought in rebellion, hatred, evil, and sadness. The Lord in His love for us sent His Son Jesus Christ to save the world from their sins. Jesus willingly laid His life down for us by dying on that cross and shedding His blood for us. "It is finished" He cried out. The debt for sin, the breaking of God's moral law (the 10 commandments) had been paid in full. Now, all we must do is repent (turn around, have a change of mind and heart toward sin and self) then totally trust Jesus to save you. I feel you bro ...😂 I have been caught up in Christianity for over 35 years, Not anymore, don't get me wrong, love the Lord, I just don't like the religion bearing his name, and I had a ministry to evangelize Jehovah's Witnesses. When I look back on that time now, I see I was arrogant, unloving, and judgmental. I now see I was coerced to believe what I blindly taught, I really didn't believe it myself (Trinity). I was told "those who try to understand the trinity will lose their mind, but those who deny the trinity will lose their soul" but nowhere in scripture did I find salvation ever based on that man made doctrine (Mat. 15:9) 😮. This is the mental trauma I was forced to accept, or eternal life in torment was my destiny. However, like Dorothy peeking behind the wizard's curtain, when I studied like scriprure admonished me to do (2Tim. 2:15) I never read Jesus traumatizing anyone to believe anything, even the hypocritical pharisees weren't threatened with eternal life in torment, Jesus just said they weren't worthy of eternal life. In fact, Jesus said those who reject his teaching will not see ETERNAL life at all! The religion of Christianity teaches that we all are immortal beings that God himself can't destroy, which is a very presumptuous statement! (Lk.1:37) That is the lie Satan told Eve! (Gen. 3:4) I believe Jesus! According to John 3:16, if you don't receive the gift of God ( which is eternal life), then you are cursed with eternal death via hellfire judgment Day, and for those that misunderstand the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, Jesus is teaching truth but veiled, this is not literal! Jesus was forbidden to speak plain truth to unbelievers, (Mat. 13:13-14) and this parable was spoken NOT to believers, but to pharisees! And since tradition has blinded us to truth, a man in unquenchable fire CANNOT speak at all, let alone in subdued tones as the character in that parable is calmly doing! (think about that) Judgment day God will eliminate all of his enemies with an unquenchable fire, which means it will not be extinguished until it has thoroughly consumed everything thrown in it! (Lk 3:17, Eze.26:26, Isa. 5:24, Mal. 4:1-3) Christianity is Constantine's religious control. Nowhere in scripture does God ever call HIS people 'Christians' that label came from the unbelieving heathens in Antioch... being freed from religious bondage, I no longer label myself with what the world calls me as a believer (Christian), but rather what God calls me, as flawed as I am... SAINT! (Ro.1:7, 1Co.1:2) I no longer serve God because He'll torture me eternally if I dont, but rather because I know he came to save me from eternal death... how can anyone resist a love so pure??? I used to be a very hardcore christian and did the whole street evangelizing thing and doing Church but I still felt empty Inside and dry like their was something missing. I Searched for a long time to Find God and even looked into other Religions and Islam etc..bit still felt dry. One day I had An Spiritual Awakening and my Life changed Instantly. Come to find out that God was with me the whole time, I just didn't know it or Recognize It. I was searching for Something that was never lost! Life/God is Bigger than Religion or Books. It's like I tell people, not to let other men or Religions or Books tell them about God but to get their own Direct Personal Experience with God. I lost my old beliefs and my religion but in the Process I Found God.

Firstly there's nothing religious about the Bible. The Bible is a historical book, and a prophetic book, From a KINGDOM CONCEPT NOT RELIGION. Christianity today may be classified as a religion. But we Christians who know that God dwells within us believe that Christianity is a relationship with the Creator. In fact Christianity is Spirituality. Not all Christians are religious. Even Jesus Christ was not Religious, he actually spoke against religious leaders and their hypocrisy. When I was a religious Christian I also felt empty like you and miserable, and didn't know why I was here in the first place, but not until I sought to have my own personal Relationship with God, did he fill that void in my life, and everything made sense from there, and of course the Word of God is the foundation of our Relationship with God. There is no relationship with God outside of his Word.

God can speak to us personally without any intermediaries. Congratulations on making it out, and I hope you have been able to find peace and healing now that you are more fully embracing reality. I was raised Evangelical, so I can appreciate the difficulty of losing one's faith. I lost my faith about 15 years ago, and have developed an appreciation for viewing the world through a materialist (in the philosophical sense, not the capitalist, consumerist sense) lens with a splash of dialectics. Christianity has always been a willing and enthusiastic collaborator with whichever group makes up the ruling class, so I genuinely do not understand how it still has any legitamicy as a moral authority. And don't even get me started on how disgusting Yhvh and it's gross and bizarrely arbitrary rules are. Like, am I supposed to believe that the conscious entity responsibe for creating the universe left us a book of rules saying how long women need to stay outside after menstruating but didn't think to tell us how to cultivate the fungus that gives us penicillin?

It probably messed you up because you did not read and study the Bible for YOURSELF, and you relied on "men" to tell you what the Bible says. God wants us to read and study His Word for OURSELVES so that we will "Know" if a preacher or teacher is really speaking the Truth. Jesus taught in the Parable of the "Sower Sows the Word" that when we hear or READ the Word of the Kingdom, it is coming to us in "seed" form, NOT "Harvest" form, and we are sowing the "seed" of God's Word in our hearts. And Just like when you plant a seed in the ground, there is nothing there yet, because there is no "manifestation" or "revelation" at Seed Time. The "revelation" and "Understanding" comes at HARVEST Time, when the "seed" of God's Word reaches the Good Ground of our hearts and grows to Full Maturity. And a HARVEST, we receive "understanding" and "revelation" from God. It is a very very slow process just like it is in "nature". For example, it takes years for apples to manifest on the branches of an apple tree because the trunk and branches of the tree must grow to be strong enough to bear the "weight" of the harvest of apples it produces. It is the same "spiritually" speaking,` we must be "prepared" and strong enough to hear God's Voice at Harvest Time. Remember what happened when God came down on Mt. Sinai to talk to the people? The people were so terrified and gripped with fear, that they ran for their lives and begged Moses to tell God to stop talking to them. The reason was, they were not "prepared", because there was no "growing" season for them because of the "stony heart", (sin), which kept the "seed" of God's Word from taking root and growing. The explanation or interpretation that Jesus gives of the Parable of the "Sower Sows the Word" is a great portion of scripture to study because Jesus tells us EXACTLY what is "hindering" the Harvest from producing the REALITY of God or "Revelation". Take Care Brother and know that Jesus is with you and will guide you even when you don't even know it.

Great video. As human beings, we should seek to grow personally. We do so by having the courage and audacity to challenge long held beliefs and dogmas. That's exactly what you are doing. I grew up in church and after years of searching for my truth, I arrived at a point where my ontology is solely based on the natural world (scientist). and long held religious dogmas no longer have a place in my life, simply because I cannot explain them. Instead of just making something up,I have the courage to say "I don't know " until I can analyze the evidence. There are many channels where they bring people of different beliefs systems to debate and defend their beliefs. One of my favorite is Saneter Tv. All the best.

Were you Protestant or Catholic? I was raised believing in a fundamentalist interpretation of the Genesis creation story, though I also believed in evolution but could not reconcile the two. Eventually, I lost my fundamentalist Protestant faith and became atheist/agnostic for several years. Fortunately, I was led to study the early Church Fathers such as Augustine and Origen who interpreted the Creation story in Genesis as a spiritual allegory. Thanks to them I regained my Christian faith but as a Catholic. Though I am not a strict traditional Catholic but Charismatic and ecumenical with Protestants and Eastern Orthodox Christians. Perhaps you should look into the Catholic faith if you haven't already.

The Church itself is the pillar and foundation of Truth (1 Timothy 3:15). The Church is a testament to the existence of God. It is still spreading across the world since the Day of Pentecost in 33 AD. The Jewish people are another testimony that the God of the Bible is the true God. The Jewish people have returned to their land of Israel as was foretold in the Bible. They must be preserved as a nation so they may eventually accept Jesus as their Messiah.

Daniel, I am at that same point. I recently had to tell the church I was stepping down from children’s sermons, Sunday School, and church leadership. The contradictions in the Bible, plus the jealous and angry God of the Old Testament, plus the idea of us being born into sin, a sin that God created for us to fall into…well it all required a level of cognitive dissonance I wasn’t prepared to keep accepting. I also have begun questioning the overall good of church, when I see the hatred and bigotry aimed at other groups from church members, the desire to impose your beliefs on others, plus the disproportionate number of church goers that reject gun control, reject vaccinations, reject climate change and reject having the government help the poor.

True Christianity is following the Holy Spirit. He is the Spirit of Truth who guides us unto all Truth. I also was raised a Pentecostal preachers kid but came to realize there is more to Christianity than what I was taught in the Assemblies of God. I now just regard myself as a Spirit led Christian who embraces Truth from Catholic, Protestant to Eastern Orthodox traditions.

I like the term "echo chambers". It seems like that is what you are describing. People embrace certain beliefs (whether they have merit or not), and then they view the world through the lens of those beliefs. Seventh day Adventists view the world through that lens. Catholics view the world through their lens. When I stand outside and observe everyone's personal echo chamber, it all seems so absurd.

I wasn't raised in a religious home, my father hated church and threatened people from any church who knocked on our door. Later my father died and my mother took us to church, but not much, and I hated it. Then, in 2010, I was living alone when in the late afternoon one day Jesus appeared to me in my living room, he was wearing a long robe and I could see him from head to toe. Where his face would be was a galaxy, and no I wasn't on drugs or taking any medication. I thought I was going to die, then he disappeared. I am now in ministry although I am not ordained but I wrote a book about what happened to me in 2016. I ship it for free to anyone in the world. So sorry to hear this. Everything we do in life requires faith. As a child of 11 I knew God was real but didn't see it in people around me. My heart embraced Jesus when I listened to the testimony of my Sunday School teacher, a local electrician. In simplicity I asked Jesus into heart. When we come to God as a little child we can see with spiritual eyes that the Holy Spirit gives us, is not intellectual. Today I'm 68 and could tell you stories of healing like a stage 4 melanoma, where God used Scripture in life to encourage me. However, I look forward to the future kingdom with Jesus. I still believe in a designer just not the Christian one. And I admit I don't know. As I have made many episodes to my own subs on the "why" I walked away. As I am now an unspecified theist more closely related to a Jew. The real problem is the lack of even probable evidence of the Resurrection. You have no authorship of anyone in Yeshua's actual life. You have no secular confirmation. Yes, Josephus, Tacitus and Pliny the Younger--the three standbys all apologists use--they mention Yeshua had a following and was followed by a superstition. None of them believed it. You have Gospels that were written at best 30-40 years after Yeshua died (Mark). And we don't even have those but copies a century later. And we have no idea who wrote those copies. We don't know why Saul converted, there is no evidence he was on a road to Damascus and Acts conflicts in the story even within itself, not to mention Paul's own letters. Now, I am one who actually wants to be convinced. I'm not the late Christopher Hitchens. But even probable evidence or reasoning just isn't there. Cheers, DCF

Good for you! This is a difficult decision to make and it’s hard enough to question our biases and beliefs, much less to lose our social family (church) when we make the decision. Millions of us have walked away and I heard a statistic yesterday that the number of non-religious people in the US is equally to all the different religions combined. If you really want to be free and completely self honest, put the issue of god on the back burner. Instead, find out who you are at the most fundamental level. Most would say they are a spirit or soul inhabiting a body. Okay, this might be you too. Where is your spirit/soul. Can you locate a spirit anywhere? When you finally experience the collapse of beliefs what is left is what is. Like you said, we all have our own journey. My advice is don’t hold too tight to the belief in god. I always try to remember that I was fooled before and am still susceptible to bad information. But also recognize that deconstruction takes time. Shit gets real when you start asking existential questions! Make sure you got people who can help you. Dark night of the soul is no joke for many! Good luck! 🙏

I deconstructed from my Christian religious upbringing this year. There are many upon many of reasons why, but the main reasons being was that there was a incredible amount of inconsistencies with pastors translating the scriptures, and insane amount of cherry picking of verses which I found myself doing as well, and also the concept of someone who is a good person, raised in a Hindu home, never had the chance to get to “know Jesus”, the idea that they would burn for eternity. A finite mistake shouldn’t justify an infinite punishment. And I’m not sure that a lot of Christian’s even understand how brutal god is with punishing others in the Bible. The hypocrisy of the church made me really self reflect as well. When I realized the religion was harmful, inconsistent, based on a book that’s been over edited.. I still searched for evidence of the faith. How it’s the “one true religion” and in doing so I found that is not the case, and I ran out of all reasons to believe in it anymore, not one reason to believe.. yet I found hundreds of reasons to doubt it when I actually did my research. It became too much for me to ignore. I can’t unlearn what I’ve already discovered and I know I’ll never believe again. Not unless the christian god himself drops down and proves himself which I believe will never happen, as he isn’t real and man made.

I quite literally stumbled upon this video. I’m Josh from New Zealand. I love the lens in which you approached this conversation. I love the lack of protest and crusade in the way you’re doing this next journey. I too left religion and someone asked me recently about how that started? I grew up as a pastors kid who gave my 20s to writing and recording worship music that ended up receiving awards and what not.. but for me like you it started with not believing the demon thing when everyone else did. Here’s my 2 questions to believers who say “don’t take the whole Bible literal”: 1. How do you know what’s supposed to be taken literal and what’s to be taken figuratively? 2. If jesus believed it was literal, doesn’t that make him wrong? For instance, in Mathew 24:36 he mentions “…in the days of Noah”, he obviously believed that happened, and scientifically, it was impossible. That flood did not happen. He refers to “the first man and first women” in Mathew 19(i think?), that’s also not possible. You can’t start the human race with just 1 mating pair. Google the colt family.

I left Christianity as well. I tried better to find and understand this god that was hidden and silent to me. I thought I was not good enough. I never had that "Holy Spirit" fuzzy warm feeling most christians claim they have. I was told I was not good enough or did not trying hard enough so I thought I should research what I needed to do. After all in different churches I attended I was told different things about this god. So many different conflicting claims about this one god, what was going wrong? Did he love or hate same sex couples, well that depends where you went and who you spoke to. It was like everyone's own god was just like them. If they hated 'gay' people then so did their god and so on. I concluded that clearly people didn't know from street preachers to mega churches, from unknown ministers to famous TV jet owning rich preachers. Each was so different. I researched myself and from source material and the more I found out the more I realised that there was just no god, people made up these stories and I could not find any 'good' evidence for the claims being made about the supernatural world. The more I actually researched to more I realised that I was just indoctrination as a young child like most people are. Indoctrinated like Muslims/Hindus/Christians before the age of critical thinking. Then we use our bias to find anything that fits this god. We employ cognitive dissonance to separate and discard anything that does not fit this god model. We actively find the arrows in the side of the barn door and paint the targets round those arrows. Currently I am simply unconvinced and therefore, I am unable to believe as you have to be convinced first. I am open to any ideas but none have ever been presented to back up the 'claim' that a god exists. I am not saying there are no gods but I am yet to be convinced that the supernatural world exists. We live in a natural world and I would not expect anything after this life, as sad as that is I am OK with it. Maybe that is why I could break my childhood programming and become a free thinking and acting person. Great video - thanks for sharing. Best Gray.

Sin in my mind is doing what’s destructive to myself or others. That’s it.God doesn’t have a scoreboard of your good or bad deeds. To me the last days are when evil consumes the world because evil cannot exist without good.

Hey brother it seems we are travelling together on a similar journey. I’m struggling with how to disengage from the constraints my community have placed on me. Also, I’m trying to negotiate how to break the news with my wife and family. I read and studied my Bible into reconstructing what I believe- but it’s no longer Christian fundamentalism. This has been so painful to start telling the truth. 😥 What to do??
