This is how big business buys land for cheap, remodels the whole place and skyrockets living costs, charges out the ass for housing, then pushes native Hawaiians out

Amazing how every structure had caught fire. Like an invisible line was drawn around a specific geographical area.

That banyan tree will come right back. You can't easily kill a fig tree. They outcompete everything around.

Was it a banyan tree? I was there in October, walked under that tree. So very very sad. I know there is a great banyan tree on that trail in that park. I walked that trail, took a picture under it. You actually think that tree will survive??
@josephastier7421 Жыл бұрын
@@honesteagle98 I am all but positive, because of its genetics as a fig tree, because it was healthy and huge, and because it will have personal staff in the coming months to make sure the symbol of Lahaina survives. There is a lot of horticultural talent in the islands and that tree will be well taken care of.

A wind storm with 80 mph gusts and no rain will start a fire anywhere there is fuel.
@ShoutItFromTheHousetops Жыл бұрын
They never do. Until they make up a story. People need to wake up. Same type of fire that devastated CA and destroyed lives. These “fires” are at unnatural temperature levels not found in natural forest fires started by lightening.

What’s the big brown area? Marshland? Is it burnt? Or just dry? May gentle winds and easy lifting be available to all as they heal their hearts and homes. May there be peace.

A hurricane to the south and a high pressure system to the north coming together over Maui to create a perfect storm of powerful dry winds that blew all night. Dry wind easily starts fires, stuff gets knocked over and sparks, powerlines arc, etc. If hurricanes didn't have any rain in them they would be firestorms.
