My dad had a neuroendocrine tumor 22 years ago, but I don't know exactly what kind it was. We called it pancreatic cancer, but the "good kind" because it's slow growing. He had a Whipple procedure that lasted over 8 hours. As far as that cancer was concerned, he was fine until about 7 years ago they detected it again. But they haven't treated it and are monitoring it. So my dad has done pretty well over the years. But I guess there are different types of neuroendocrine cancers, some more aggressive than others. I don't know, I don't want to google it.

Wow, when you just used the phrase “flying Colors” it reminded me of my best friend. At 32, she was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. It had spread all over. She wasn’t given a lot of hope. It was in her colon, bladder, and other places. Then, she went to a special clinic in Atlanta, Ga, who treated her with surgery, natural foods, juicing, and a small amount of chemo. She didn’t even lose her hair. As she went into surgery, her husband told her she was going to come through with “flying colors.” When she woke up, she had! She was already a daycare owner, but a few months later, she opened up another one, and called it Flying Colors.” She is now 56, and living her best life with her kids and grandkids:) I have a really good feeling about you! And I will be praying my rosary for you! God is a healer!

My oncologist at that time said I had 2 years to “get my life in order,” etc. I changed my entire diet - became vegan -and also found a superb supportive therapist. Each day is truly a gift. 14 years later … I’m doing very well and living a normal life. My oncologist remains thrilled and surprised! Anything is possible. Anything. About 15 years ago my then-middle aged step sister seemed to have bronchitis. She coughed a lot and couldn’t seem to shake it. She went to the ER one day because she was having trouble breathing. They took a chest X-ray and told her they didn’t see anything, that she was okay. A few days later she was still having problems and they told her again that nothing was wrong. She insisted on a CT scan of her lungs. They discovered she had several tumors in her lungs which turned out to be lung cancer. It had even spread to a few lymph nodes. She saw the oncologist and he told her that she didn’t have long to live, they couldn’t treat it and to go home and enjoy the little bit of time she had left. She sought the opinion of a cancer treatment center and was given hope. She had chemo and radiation and surgery to remove the lymph nodes. She COMPLETELY kicked cancer ass!!! This was about 15 years ago and she has remained cancer free!!! I know a quite a few people that have gotten rid of their cancer… I only mention my step sisters case because she was given such a poor prognosis but defied the odds!! Never give up hope!!!! And above all else continue to laugh and find joy in all things and keep a good attitude. Hang in there y’all!!! 💗💗💗

Jessica, I am praying for you. I was diagnosed with colon cancer in April 2021. When you first hear the word cancer it is such a shock. To get past the mental paralysis and depression I had to remind myself everyday "I am here now." In December the right side of my transverse colon was removed using DaVinci. I only have one kidney, two autoimmune diseases, and had to lose over 100 pounds before they would even do surgery (lots of obstacles). I say this because my case was also complicated and very serious. I just had my 6-month follow-up and am doing well. You are young and strong, and you have the right mindset. I have complete faith that you will do well with all surgeries and treatments that might be in your future. You can do this girl! You will beat it! We've been told that the advancements in the past few years are nothing short of remarkable. Everyone at the clinic and hospital is so accommodating and caring, as well as incredibly efficient. We live just two hours away, so haven't had to spend the night too often. There are many hotels connected to the clinic- we stayed at the Towne Place Suites just a few blocks away- I highly recommend them. Shuttle service provided. They didn't want to but did it.There was a polyp that crumbled when they tried to take it out in one piece. It was cancer.I was angry that it wasn't dealt with years earlier, but thankful it was gone after a complete hysterectomy. Hi Jessica and Brian! I’ve never been one to post but I have been following you for years and have just related to your journey so much. I’ve been praying for you since I heard about your diagnosis and now I feel like we have one more similarity. I, too, had a neuroendocrine cancer but mine was pancreatic, when I was 36 years old, as well. That was 12 years ago and I have been working on making myself healthy ever since. I only learned about WFPB about 3 years ago thru Mastering Diabetes as that was one of my long term side effect of my cancer. I already had my daughter and she was only 7 at the time, so I had to survive to raise her as a single Mom. I don’t envy the fertility treatments, but no matter what happens, this is your journey and just do your best to keep a positive attitude and know how loved you are: by your family, your friends, your viewers but also by God. He’s watching out for you - as you had symptoms, as I did. Ovarian and pancreatic cancers are often found too late as you don’t always have any signs until it’s spread, so I believe that God has great plans for you! Lean on each other, on your family and friends. Some days are going to be hard and scary. You are very firmly in God’s hands and he is guiding you where you need to be and who you need to be with. Try to find peace and take care of yourselves! Much love, Katie McDaris Marks, Spokane, WA

At 47 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and a year later I had to have a full hysterectomy because I was diagnosed with uterine cancer. Thru my diagnosis I found attitude was so important. I will being praying for you! Sending hugs from the west coast. 💜

God is so good. I'm so happy to hear things are getting better. I just did a Ovarian Cancer motorcycle ride today which we do yearly with almost 300 bikes. It's a great organization. It would be such a blessing to this group if you happen to have any funds left over. They would appreciate any denomination. Thank you

Brian, make sure you take care of yourself too. You're clearly a rock for your family. Remember it's okay and vital to find places where you can let yourself crack (as Leonard Cohen said, "there is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in.") You guys are both fantastic humans, that's why you have so many people who want to find a way to support y'all.

Hugs! so glad you are feeling better. Overwhelming issues, but you can hang in there!!! And yes, you do not want to be so "special" and rare -- I had a kind of leukemia that normally occurs in children -- but I was 49 -- and they told me it was easier to cure in children. But I did get over it and am 64 today and even got married for the first time after cancer. Obviously, I did not have to deal with the fertility issue, but one step at a time and I am glad you are saving embryos. Your attitude is great -- and I am glad you have such a good community -- that makes a huge difference. Plus you have Brian and your parents. Hang onto all those good people who are praying and sending you good thoughts -- that is the best medicine.

Genetic Testing!! Hey Jessica I’m keeping you in my prayers! So my friend had skin melanoma and then within a year developed a completely separate cancer like you and has prostate cancer stage four. He had some genetic testing done at Vanderbilt University medical Center that then showed like four different types of cancers he is susceptible to. So make sure you ask about getting genetic testing done. I am honestly only halfway through your video but I did not want to forget to tell you that! Wishing you only good things ahead! 😊

Hey Jessica and Brian, I just got finished watching your Live tonight. You two are amazing and inspiring. I told my personal trainer about you two because he encourages his clients to eat a plant based diet. I sent him the video where you were celebrating losing over 300 lbs and he thought that was awesome. I did IVF to have my son and it was pricey and not easy but it was worth it. I had to lose 30 to 40 lbs before i could start IVF. My trainer helped me get there in 3 months. You are a beautiful couple and i know God is with you both! You are both in my prayers❤️

Thank you so much for the update. Goodness, the stuff you are going through, you could have just said screw it, I'll focus on me; but here you guys are. Maybe you know, maybe not, but many of us, if not all, found you by looking for weight loss help and recipes. We did find that, but we also found a sweet, loving couple where we found ourselves anxiously waiting for the next video. Every once in awhile I get a sense of something other than sweet, like strong people with a strong bond, willing to fight for what is right. Now you are faced with such a fight and you guys will hold each other up and make it thru this. Brian, please know I pray for you just as much as Jessica. Your part is just as tough because of the helplessness you must feel and probably feeling you always have to be there for Jessica. You guys got this as long as you have each other.

You are so brave and strong, Jessica. I admire your grit. I faced a terrible illness at your age (mine was heart related), and it was scary as hell. I probably couldn't be sitting there calmly discussing it like you're doing. You're incredible! I was just in tears for weeks and weeks after my diagnosis and hospitalization. I am fine now, btw. I had congestive heart failure, which is another thing you never want to have. I made it through and you will too. Your husband by your side, fighting with you every step of the way, is such a gift. My husband fought with me as well. Now for women in their mid to late 30's (and even younger), who like me and like Jessica, think they _may_ want kids but haven't yet, my advice is if you won't be happy if you never have kids, consider doing it sooner rather than later. You don't know what tomorrow will bring and you may not have the opportunity later. I was doing just like Jessica. My husband and I were like...maybe yes, maybe no...then I got heart failure and the option was taken from me. It was too dangerous for me to carry a ppregnancy after my heart got sick and we didn't have the money for surrogacy. I had to face heart failure and the realization that I would not have children. Don't let your health make the decision for you. You do not know what will happen tomorrow so don't put off childbirth if it will devastate you to never have kids. This is my most vulnerable advice to all women out there. I wish I would have heard it from a woman and so I'm telling it to anyone who may be in similar situation now. My husband and I thought of adoption, but it wasn't for us for several reasons. So we do not and will not ever have kids. I've made peace with it, but it still stings and I do regret taking my reproduction for granted. I'm glad Jessica is going to save her eggs. It will be something to look forward to and to fight for...but we just dont know the future, so if children will be important to you, secure yourself and have your kids as soon as you are capable. Don't wait like I did.

Thank you for sharing ur story. That is such a hard thing to go through. I am 31 and just finished chemo for stg3 ovarian cancer. The day I was diagnosed, my first thought was I want to live a long happy and healthy life with my husband. I had a full hysterectomy and didn’t think of getting my eggs frozen, assuming it would be a huge expense. I didn’t like the idea of knowing I might die from this and leave my husband alone, and potentially leaving children behind. I’m coming to the realization more and more that I will never experience motherhood. My husband has been my rock and says as long as we have each other, we will be okay. I’m happy with that. But I will say, it stings a little to know all that was sacrificed. Idk what the future will bring me, but I have made peace with it. It is a hard decision to live with. Your story touched me and it’s an important one to share. I find so much strength in it🙏 I do wish I had someone to tell me this.

Thanks so much for the updates. That’s definitely a lot on both of you. I’m glad that the second surgery has given you some relief Jessica! We’re all out here cheering you on because you are both such great people who clearly want to help others. I’m so happy for the outpouring of financial support you received. Please take good care of yourselves-Brian too of course-and just try and take it one “thing” at a time. I found that was helpful for me when I went through my cancer treatment. It can be overwhelming at times, so I would focus on the next procedure or event and get through that as best as I could. ♥️♥️♥️

When you had your surgery and said you had cancer, my first thought was neuroendocrine cancer. I've followed a young man in England who was diagnosed with Stage 4 in his small intestines, lymph nodes and liver. He went through some tough times but is NED, doing great and getting back to running and is running a marathon! (Peter M. Riley if you want to check him out--nice guy!). So I think Team Krock will kick C's butt! Sorry you're going through so much. It will suck. But I feel like you've got this!! ❤️💐
