I think I'm doing something wrong here. When I start, taking my hands up in front of the eyebrows with the palms facing down, I start feeling a sort of pressure in my forehead, like I'm full of something there, and it doesn't go away until well after the end of the practice. This didn't happen in the other two practices (anchoring the breath and QiGong to nourish the kidneys).

hey damo! can you talk about manual breathing? at some point in my practice I forgot how to allow my body to breath and have been stuck with full awareness and control of my breath for over a year now. what causes this? what are the energetic implications of this in the long term? how do I get back to auto mode? thank you!

This is great; thank you. Two questions: where are you placing your tongue? And, if your arms get tired, but you'd like to sustain each placement of the hands--can you use a bolster to support your elbows? Or is it better to gain more strength in the arms/back and incrementally increase the time spent in each position? thanks!

I'd like to know about the hands as well. They get really tired and start burning when the palms are above the eyebrows. How do I go about solving this issue?

so somewhere near the office of the thyroid is a chest release point, pausing the video, be back in 20 minutes to 20 years while see what that awareness does. Actually, what alphanumeric name did you give that point, adding rewind video to do list.

Good Day Damo, I’m in need of direction: I’ve been a serious meditator for many years and have taken deep dives into SRF, Mahayana Zen, Vipassana, and for the past 20, TM and I’m still searching. I started a daily Hatha practice in 1972 and a year later started a Tai Chi practice with Marshall H’o while at Cal Arts. Question: How can I learn the style of meditation you practice? Please guide me as to where to start. I’m 76 years young and based on what I’ve been able to find out about your organization, I believe I’m ready for the next chapter, just not sure how to proceed. Please advise… Cheers, Daniel

I can highly recommend his online academy at www.damomitchell.com There is a Nei Gong/Nei Dan course with weekly unlockable lessons and a step-by-step curriculum which, if you practice dilligently, will provide a clear path for you.

Hi Damo, could you clarify something for me please? There appears to be an overlap between this video and your previous one 'Nourishing the Kidneys'? To nourish the kidneys you must sink the qi and if I've understood you correctly, sinking the qi benefits the kidneys? Could you elaborate on the nuances of each please?
@filip_cabra
@filip_cabra 3 жыл бұрын
He mentions this is a very simple and accessible step. Check out "Anchoring the Breath part 2" also. But yes, sinking the qi means we get out of fight or flight, which calms the adrenals in the western view and the kidneys in the Chinese view.

@@filip_cabra Thanks Roz. I'm already regularly practicing 'Anchoring the Breath part 2' and both 'Nourishing the Kidneys' and 'Sinking the Qi'. The results from the last two seem to be quite similar for me, hence my question. Thank you.
