It’s okay. After a vacation in the Philippines, we all get caught up With the vacation hangover. But just like everyone else we need to get back to reality. What is more important is we all got the needed break to re-charge and see our family.

It never ceases to amaze me how inexpensive food is there. I live in Toronto Canada, and after rent, gas and food, there’s NOTHING left now. Our cost of living has inflated so much during Covid.

A whole week with family would be such a luxury! I get to see my sister for 2 days once a year. I saw my brother for the first time in 12 years, right before Christmas, he stayed an hour. Tis the problems of living far from home. I enjoyed this video very much. Your home town is very beautiful. I pray you get to visit again soon. 💕

I love your videos. I watch them waking up in the morning. I love your slow rhythm and simplicity mixed with the calming serene shots. You're an amazing person ❤ I feel like you're my best friend because I always read your subtitles and I am also very alone in the states. Your videos give me comfort, a sense of calm. I try to listen to every word of wisdom you say about waking up with determination, looking at the brighter side. be happy to just be alive ❤ I love all you do and appreciate EVERY video! You are such an amazing woman and you have such a positive attitude. I am sure it is hard to be so far away from your family, but you have a good attitude and you focus on why you are there. You also find ways to enjoy the little things and treat yourself to some mini vacations in Japan as well. Bravo, I salute you!

IT’S SO GOOD TO FINALLY SEE YOUR FACE IN YOUR VIDEOS 👍😍 your vlogs are so calming, relaxing, comforting to watch that I hope you found the same sense of peace on your vacation. that’s quite a beautiful place you went to with the horse drawn carriage. just remember, you’re not that far away from home, only a 4-hr flight compared to other OFWs who has to endure a whole day’s flight. hang in there, girl ;)

I am alone and at 62, my last time seeing my sister, remaining family I grew up with...not seen in over 40 years. Just my kitty n me. Never see her again as her health is lousy, won't travel to see me. The last time I went and saw her, it was many years prior as well not seeing her. Lost my mother at 16, 2 weeks before Christmas we were informed so no time to prepare for shock... My father passed 8 years ago. Alone now. 🥴🇨🇦 I envy others who see family. Nobody to hug anymore that is related. Really hard emotionally. 🌹

Thank you Lou, for taking us on another journey. I love your trips to the store to see how Japan is different from USA. Even more, I love when you take us on your trips and we can enjoy what you see, where you came from and how the world is so beautiful. I felt the very same way when I visited my parents in Florida, as I stayed in Connecticut when I married. I was so excited to fly to see them, but sad when the trip was over. I would always save my tears for when I was seated in the plane for take off departure. I miss them as they are not here anymore, so enjoy every minute you have with them. I am sure they are super proud of you and that is the greatest gift you can give them. Again, thank you for the videos

You young lady are costing me money. 😂 I just ordered coconut sugar on amazon. Im in the uk so not in my local shops. I need oats everytime i see you cook. I absoloutely love how you make auch a good effort to eat well. Its so hard when you are in a negative mindspace to ensure you look after yourself. Particularly when you live alone. You are such an inspiration to people. If a young girl all alone in a strange country can do this then so can I. Your family must be so so proud of you. Also please dont apologise if life gets in the way of filminh at times..Everyone here loves you and will be here ready when you are. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hi, I am a Turkish woman who was born in Turkey and came to the Netherlands in 1971. I was nearly 2 years old. In that time many Turkish and Maroccon, Italien and Spanish people came to the Netherlands and Germany to work. My father came first to Holland and after he brought us (my mum, sister and me) to the Netherlands. I kwow that also many single women have come to the Netherlands to work. Why do you treat Lou so special? During all the history immigration didn't stop. I think that this lady has lucky because she speaks good english. She doesn't have communication problems. She can help herself. My parents came to Europe without any knowledge of the dutch language. That must be very difficult.

I am so happy for you that you were able to go home to the Philippines, even for one week. 😊 It's a Treasure to spend any time with your family. Thank you for sharing your experiences. ✨ Side note: If you want to make homemade brown gravy, it is actually very simple: make a "rue" of 2 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons flour, until bubbly, gradually add 1 cup of chicken broth. If you can find a browning seasoning sauce, add a tiny splash of it to have the deeper brown color of gravy. I make brown gravy occasionally to have over rice or potatoes or meat. (Not too often as it isn't very healthy but it is a comfort food). Measurements are USA measurements.

Thank you for showing us how beautiful the Philippines is. So green and lush with trees everywhere. My sister-in-law is Filipino-American from Northern California but her parents were from the Philippines. I think she still has family there, but I would love to visit there, and see the beautiful views and the Spanish history there and the swimming pool looked cool and relaxing, gorgeous views from there. I’m glad you’re enjoying time with your family! 🩷😊 There’s a Jolliebee’s here in my city in California, for about two years now. It’s popular! We have a small community of Filipinos in my city and about 45 minutes north from my city in Central California, the city of Delano has a big population of Filipinos. 😁
