Something I find very interesting is how much the author uses real animal behavior to influence her characters, on a nuanced level. Much like modelling Legosi after the timidity of real wolves. They aren't really aggressive or ferocious unless starving or threatened. She also modelled Louis extremely well after real world deer. Deer are commonly herbivores, but are also known to partake in selective opportunistic omnivorism. Meaning: they don't seek meat, but will eat scavenged meat for the advantage it presents to supplement them with protein and other vital nutrients. This series really fascinates me especially as someone extremely familiar with animal sciences lmao.

I don’t know why but for ages I’ve always believed that somehow, Louis’s father may be a cross of a herbivore and carnivore. His pupils are small ( I’ve never seen him with larger eyes then his normal small pointed ones, unlike most herbivores) and, he’s always been shown in relation to male carnivores that Louie meets, in more than three scenarios now. It almost seems as if the writers hinting at something. His theory would also make sense to why he is infertile. Whether he’s actually infertile due two cross genetics or if he’d lacked the sexual drive to actually produce children due to being carnivore-herbivore offspring. I’d also like to mention the fact that we have never seen his full body, he always seems to be wearing a suite or something that covers him fully. As we’ve seen with melon, and Legosi’s mother, the most obvious of the changes happen on the main part of the body, being the chest, back, and thighs. Which are the parts that are never seen.. But that’s just a theory, I was wondering if anyone had the same thoughts as me, I’ve been thinking it since we first saw Louis’s father. And I’d love to hear what others think.

I never thought of that before, while it sounds a bit crazy, I cant deny it's a valid theory, there is always the possibility due to the lack of information on his father, it's an interesting theory so I wonder if it could possibly be true since Louis' father also has issues expressing his emotions, while this all can be a coincidence, it's very interesting to think about.

Have you read the extra pages of the manga? There's an interesting tidbit about Oguma: (spoilers below) Oguma loves his son. He worries deeply for his son's well-being and when asked by his butler what he'd do if Louis never came back, Oguma said: "I'll cry" Ibuki and Oguma aren't so dissimilar. Oguma is just REALLY bad at showing his feelings for his son. Even without the extra page you can see this love he has in little things like him bring the first person to be there when Louis screamed inside of his room. And if you ask me, he'd be understanding if Louis finally admittee that he has no intention of taking over the Horns Conglomerate.

Louis always struck me in the deep places, because I'm the same as him in a way, except with men. I'm female and was raised in fundamentalist culture. The kind where I'm expected to be a wife and not lead. I also was a victom of sexual assault by a male family member. Because of all of that, and being a powerlifter, having to cope with the fact ill never be as strong really has fucked me up. I am getting counseling, so hopefully things will get better soon.

Thank you for making this. This really put Louis perspective into the light for me. I got that he hated carnivores and understood why given his backstory and how he had to put on airs to make himself seem perfect, but i didn't really grasp the context for some of the things he did. The scene where he presses Legoshi against the wall and tells him to bite him had me confused before, but now i get it. He was mad at Legoshi for acting frail and weak when the truth was that he was way stronger than Louis could ever be no matter how hard he tried. He didn't grasp the concept that carnivores have it hard too at the time.
