My first experience of Mr Thompson was reading Watch my back over fourteen years ago. Violence was a big thing for me back then, but his experiences, words and understanding of life helped me change that. I owe so much to him yet have never met him, his journey has helped myself and so many others. Wit a heart felt Thank You i offer RESPECT and blessing to him and those around him.

This is even more insightful and instructional than his videos on how to knock someone out. Geoff has come to the end of his Hero's Journey.

Wow, what a journey this man has been on, understanding himself and transforming some of the destructive behaviour he had. Big respect. I look forward to watching some more of his video's.

Can listen to this man talk for hours. Good stuff. Wonder what it says if you have a weapon in every room, train constantly for violence, but violence is still rare in your life.

Great stuff Geoff, someone like you passing on this type of information provides hope for the future. We all create our own reality, but not many of us are aware of that fact. Big thank you from me, keep up the good work and maybe the world will eventually become the peaceful place it could be.

Bought 3 of Geoffs books, regularly listen to his podcasts and watch his vids. Was queuing up in Costa the other day, turned around and he was stood next to me. I was starstruck like a little girl! Wish I'd had the balls to say hi, shake his hand and thank him for the positive influence. Oh well, keep up the good work Geoff.

Sometimes physically confident men evoke insecurities in other men. Some men feel the need to test themselves against seemingly powerful or dominant men. Its not necessarily always the insecurity in a man that causes violence in others around him. It can actually be his great confidence and self security that intimidates others. So, did Geoff bring his own violence with him wherever he went? Or, did his self confidence evoke violence in other insecure people?

Yes very true .I used to wonder why I got into so many confrontations .Then I realised everyone I met on a night out I was thinking the quickest way to knock them out or put them in a choke. I think this is what happends with self defence overload. You end up in a zone of continued protection etc. Some times you have to just be abit more laid back but aware. If your continuing to think of self defence subconsciously you are in a state of constant under attack. Like the animal kingdom we give off vibes so similar people who are also in that zone subconsciously find a mutual fight or fly response with us.

If the mans right , the world is right , the world is bright , full of love , like you say , to become love and sustain that level of love is the ultimate goal , love replacing violence that is a tough call , to let go of the world and live according to gods will.

It seems to be a cultural thing among men in England, an no doubt many other countries too, a kind of psychotic need to show strength or dominance for no particular reason. I say this because one day I was in a cab with a Romanian driver and we had a conversation about his experience in England. He made the interesting comment about this type of prevalent violence he had seen while in England. He said that in his country, Romania, people generally don't fight because to fight means to kill, so there has to be a reason for it (good or bad). For that reason, he said, most people avoid fighting, but are prepared to kill or be killed should a genuine need arise - which of course, it seldom does. But he said that in England, particularly around pubs, clubs and drinking culture; he often saw fights that had very little reason for provocation. It made me think of the various fights I've had during my younger years in London and others I've witnessed. It seems that the violence is just below the surface, often the most insecure or unloved people seem to be the ones with most anger inside that is just waiting to explode at the slightest provocation, and when there isn't any discernable provocation then they invent it by saying: What are you looking it? I was once asked what the the time was, I told him and he said: " not is ain't you c*nt". With that he launched a headbutt at me which I managed to dodge avoid. Crazy, I was just minding my own business waiting for a train on the platform. When talking about how to deal with anger and aggression he was trying to remember the name of a Vietnamese monk, he was referring too was Tich Na Han.

I struggle with trying to stay in a positive state,And to maintain being from a place of love whilst actively training as real as I can is difficult, being awake and having awareness of any confrontation/conflict can tip the balance of positive and negative thought. How would you get round this obstacle??

Viet guy sounds like Thích Nhất Hạnh. It's true that self- and world-view are always connected, but we should be careful not to become uncritically positive. When you look at books like The Secret, it's the ultimate in wishful thinking, and the implication is that anyone in a bad spot only has themselves to blame. But I count myself lucky to have heard good teachings to lift me out of negativity; I don't think I did it all myself, and I don't look down on those who are still wallowing - if only they had good teachers who could reach them. But you can never count them out, either.

Some people go through their whole lives and never have a fight. Weird, but not so weird. You look for it, you'll find it. Most people don't want to fight. You force me I'll put you an armlock or something. A knife or a gun is something different.
