The problem with Ammar is, why choose a woman who tells you she loves to dance and isn't too concerned about having kids when you want your wife to not dance and it's important to you to have kids.... choose a woman whose values align with yours.

Secondly, I was watching the show with my husband, and we happen to be Tunisians just like Karma, when Ammar was convincing her that no " middle Eastern man would approve of her dancing" and he was yelling, " get lost we are not middle easterns" 😅 it was funny seeing him cheering for Karma even though he hates the show.

I am a 60 year old woman who watched the show in Ireland. I had many similar concerns to yours but the dynamic between Ammar and Karma was particularly upsetting to me. Having listened to you break down what was behind his behaviour towards her makes it even more upsetting but so good to hear and understand. I was horrified by his expectations of her which he expressed so nonchanantly as if it were a given that she would immediately say 'Yes darling'. I have watched the show in other countries and there are always a few loose cannons both male and female but all the men in this were really hard to take. I couldn't imagine any woman wanting to be with any of them.

I'm a semi-professional bellydancer from what would be considered a Western country and let me tell you something about the hypocricy of "oriental" cultures which are the origins of this beautiful art form. They explicitly forbid and have problems with Arab women taking part in dancing but for the Western women it is fully allowed and Egypt is full of clubs and restaurants which are hosting foreign dancers. These clubs are always full to the brim and most so, not exclusively with tourists but locals and natives as well. The hipocricy is real. Also every dance is in some way "sexy" because it emphasises and uses the natural softness and limbness of a woman. If you have a problem with dance - you have a problem with women and their nature. I saaaid what i said.

When I was watching this show, I couldn't help thinking that the culture many of these cast members grew up in creates a bunch of the most insecure people with most fragile egos. That if "your" woman or man even looks at someone else, it makes you lose your sh*t. But it can't be a generalisation for the whole Middle East, because some women were so confident and emancipated. Let's hope it gets better. Another thing I noticed is that most of these men are dangerous predators. Like when Ammar said about a look that can hurt more than words or touch and everybody agreed. That's because THEY themselves are the same way. They would see a woman dancing, and they would lust all over her. They are projecting their own behaviour on other men and want women to take responsibility. And I wish they would only "look" at other women, but I don't believe that. Ammar gives me creeps.
@sonataoth1111Ай бұрын
No you got it wrong cuz in Middle East most women who are dancers are sluts and a man can easily pays one to sleep with, it’s like a stereotype that’s why he wouldn’t like any man to see his wife as a slut and believe me no middle Eastern man would support that 🤷🏽♀️
@aj0d7A02e0wАй бұрын
I'm in a process of reading a book called "Why does he do that", which is about abusive men. What they say in the book, is basically that the biggest part of what makes a man abusive or controlling is his male role models he saw when he grew up and yep the culture around him. So, unfortunately, when those men from the show say it's a cultural thing, they might be actually correct. I'm not saying it justifies anything, just wanted to point out this fact. And, by the way, the book is fascinating and horrifying at the same time, you should check it out.

there's something strange about Chafiq being paired with "content creator" Dounia, i haven't quite grasped it completely. Chafiq is so desperate for attention, especially from women, out of narcissism and insecurity. Dounia also seeks external validation, although more wholesome, via her SM content. I'm not at all surprised Chafiq has consumed Dounia's socials and they are now basically couples content creators. I think this is troublesome for Dounia. Her weaker personality is being consumed by his ego, he is demanding on separating her from her mother, and signs of love-bombing (especially after Chafiq ran out of other Pod options). Dounia's behavior at the reunion also shows she is not mature enough to understand Chafiq's traps: every woman is in love with him in the "all my exs are crazy" kind of way. Chafiq trap wins him both freedom to interact with other women and fulfilling his k*nk of making Dounia a jealous partner. This will not be a good marriage, and perhaps a short-lived one. Mohd might have said a few dumb things, but at least he seeks the attention of only Safa.
@nouramouctar817Ай бұрын
I understand your point of view on Safa and Mohamed’s relationship but I think you didn’t understand their banta/humour. It´s so strange when men say they should be the leaders in the relationship. "Leader" is a word we typically use at work, to describe someone who has better expertise in the branch than his subordinates. So when they say they are leaders in romantic relationships, it sounds as if they were saying they have better expertise in life generally and the partners were their subordinates.

The difference between western culture and other more conservative cultures is that people is the west needs to be in love first then they figure out about other requirements before committing to marriage. In other cultures they try to match most of their requirements in a partner, get married and try to make marriage in to a love relationship.
