I know the focus is carrie and aidan. But sams behaviour in this episode baffles me. She acts non chalont when told mirandas mum died. Carrie and charlotte are upset and she just sits there, shrugs and says she'll send flowers. Then suddenly she loses her orgasm.... wtf?! then at the funeral, carrie and charlotte hug miranda offering condolences. Meanwhile sam tells miranda she "looks great" again wtf?! Then suddenly at the end of the funeral she cries and she gets her orgasm back.... someone please explain this?!

24:36 probably late to the voting 😂 but I think Aiden was very hurt by Carrie s betrayal and he kinda changed himself to not get hurt again and both his appearance and behavior seem like those of Mr. Big, its kinda like after getting cheated on he believed that dumb saying of ‘good guys finish last’ and made an active choice to be someone else. In my opinion the person that he was the first time around is who he really is and this is him trying to be someone that he is not.

I totally agree with you about the way Carrie and Aiden aren't connecting. I guess it's easy to see them and say they need to communicate (like how can I help you with this computer situation, how can we take care of it together) and sharing insecurities about the relationship. But maybe they are unaware of these things themselves.

This was a great episode! Cynthia Nixon is a fantastic actress even in plays I’ve seen. I loved the moment Carrie goes to walk with her, one of my favorite moments in the show. She was a real beeach to Aiden here but him getting her that Mac was the same as getting that gaudy ring, he didn’t really know her. I had a similar situation dating someone who gifted me a gaudy coach bag. Unfortunately, I kept dating him but that was the sign that it was not meant to be.

If I was dating someone who said they couldn’t stop seeing their ex (and they don’t have kids together) I’d say bye. I had this with someone who had a female best friend. As much as I loved him, and as much as it hurt me to break up, I knew I’d always be bothered by their friendship. Well, guess who he ended up marrying 😄. Some people aren’t bothered when their partner is close with someone of the opposite sex, but if you’re not that is okay. Just be real about it and find someone on the same page.

I get why Carrie didn't come to Miranda's mom's funeral. Miranda is known for knowing what she wants and being very direct about it. I believe if she asked Carrie to be there Carrie... would still not show up or send Aidan. But nonetheless, we are not mind readers and if someone's says they're fine I assume they can handle it and I would bother them instead of helping.

I know it isn’t mentioned but I hated how “anti” the girls were about Charlotte’s wedding. We get it, they aren’t as interested in marriage and weddings as Charlotte but they made it seem like an inconvenience. It gave hater vibes. not jealous, but haters. Kind of like when you’re really interested in a musician or topic and someone makes you feel like 💩 about it.

Charlotte was sick of Trey’s passive ways. She had waited long enough for him to ”claim” her like a masculine man would. Sure thing he was impotent in the bedroom too.

All ladies, I’m not one to recommend to other women ‘what works’ for me. We are all individuals. BUT! I received two books from an author named Florence Given. And holy shit-she flies the flag for us all to rock by setting healthy boundaries, being the love and star of our own F life. And by doing so, the opportunities for success measured by OURSELVES and not society or men is a win-win scenario. It is not without struggle. Nothing is. But to avoid being a Carrie Bradshaw (have any of us got that time to waste??) and invest in us being who we are and not what we should be, is more than liberating! It’s an awesome journey. Her first book is ‘women don’t owe you pretty’. Am blown away at my age of 50 that I was looking for validation in ALL THE PLACES that didn’t truthfully reflect it anyhow. It will take time for me to explore it all. But it’s a new and welcomed path. What’s not to love eh! x

I feel the writers always want us to think Carrie is the most amazing person. So that she makes Miranda's mom's death avout herself both in regards to Aiden and Samantha and Charlotte is not what we are suppose to see I believe. But a friend who cares so much about another friend that she starts crying. And I also think we are supposed to read it as Miranda os denying Carrie's help (even though everyone irl knows you can't ask a grieving person what they need). I think its honestly a blind spot from the creators, they can't see how absolutely awful and self centered Carrie is.
@FishareFriendsNotFood9723 күн бұрын
HOT TAKE: My default is always that my partner cannot dictate who my friends are just because they are insecure. If the friend is actively being detrimental (such as, they encourage you to drink too much), I think it's fair to say 'I don't like their influence on you and who you become around them', but just 'it makes me feel bad/insecure that you are with them....', that is just too controlling for me. I understand Big is a messy, messy ex and I frankly would not endorse Carrie staying friends with him, but I also REALLY don't endorse a male partner dictating their woman can't hang out with other men because it makes them feel insecure.

Carrie really was the worst sort of muggle imaginable. Selfish, Arrogant, Entitled. Everything simply had to revolve around her at all times. Gross. I'm glad I never watched that show.

It's hard to trust someone will stay and never leave if they already left before.....that's why getting back together is often so difficult.

Thank you for pointing out some of Aiden's passive qualities that he leaned into in an effort to be a 'good boyfriend', instead of being healthier and asserting himself and his boundaries more.
@ellinooridashwoodКүн бұрын
I think that the cheating incident made him more possessive of Carrie the second time around, but I think that was a trauma response rather than who is inherently. That’s not excusing his behavior- he should have realized that he wasn’t acting like himself and bowed out of the relationship gracefully.

27:22 ...Am I giving Big to much credit / making him look worse than he is? - He is unhappy with Natasha - He does not mind being divorced (e.g. does not belong in the category: "This marragie has to work/look presentable at all costs not matter the misery". He just seems to not want to be the person " responsible " for the divorce aka person saying it and getting the papers) - He DOES mind that Carrie has a boyfriend / her sheets and apartment smell of him - He knows Carrie is still desperate for him - even more than for her actual boyfriend => Instead of "keeping it low" and just telling Natasha - no matter if it's because he wants to be honest or wants to "motivate" her to divorce him, so that he was not the one to initiate the divorce -> He - in his way - dramatically tells Carrie first => Is he telling his plans to Carrie first in the hope of "motivating"/"pushing" Carrie to break up/tell Aiden...? In hopes of not smelling the other guy, because he does not want to be the "side piece" not only to a woman but Carrie... a woman that craves desperately Bigs attention for years and puts him on way to high of a pedestal... ...I still do not get how you can call you boyfriend/partner "(Mr.) Big" not only for years, but also because you got to know his actual first name after YEARS of on/off dating/f*cking him x.x

36:37 if I saw my partner acting like Aidan I’d say “we’re ok with flirting now?” (genuine question) then “Good to know” & then I’d start flirting with the same bartender* * I’m pan so the gender identity doesn’t matter to me. It’s all about the person (& the chemistry between us)

Steve unceremoniously dumped Miranda right before her work party just because he was feeling sorry for himself after realizing Miranda will always be head and shoulders above him in every aspect of being a successful person. He resented her for it so he dumped her in the moment to make himself feel better. Meanwhile, he comes crawling back after he realizes that no one is gonna support him financially the way that she does. He was completely using her for her status I feel but he hit behind his nice guy personaso it seemed palatable, but I actually think he was a manipulative opportunist

I love this episode. The lost orgasm by Samatha is hilarious and yet when she breaks down in tears at the funeral-I just love her more. Charlotte has my favourite ‘line’ from her again at the funeral commenting on the crap flowers ‘it’s like saying your dead, let’s disco’ 🥳😂. So dry. So funny. Miranda at the underwear store to get a bra that fits correctly and Lucille the assistant who she shares a real touching moment in the changing room. Carrie is out of her depth already but doesn’t know by quite how much. Aiden isn’t Big. And as the heart wants what the heart wants. She cannot just push those feelings away. Loved the analysis. And yes, the analogy of the broken laptop and new one, is about Big. All day F long. Ta x

Devil's advocate here: I think it was the respectful thing for Carrie to do to honor Miranda's wishes to not come, even if she felt like Miranda was just being polite. Also credit to Carrie for asking, "What do you need me to do?" Instead of, "Do you need me?" PS, yes, you used "whom" correctly

Carrie also made a huge thing about the kleys with Big. He however explained that he is reluctant to give out his key because 'you never get them back'. I wonder how Carrie would have reacted if Big had yelled at her 'I gave you my key, what more do you want', just as she did with Aidan.

When my best mate’s mum passed, as soon as I could I caught a late night train and walked multiple kilometres (when there was over an hour wait for the bus) just to sit there in the same room with them. I also took food and wine, but just showing up was literally the least I could/would do.
