Agreed. He was ignoring Nancy for days & then as soon as she talked with Andrew he felt threatened and suddenly started showing interest again. Once there was a “threat” of her choosing someone else he swooped back in. He has to be the one to say no.

I think there is merit to this. He struggled with his friends’ opinion of Nancy. He may feel embarrassed to be dumped by her because he sees himself as more desirable? I think most people see her as a total catch, but his mindset seemed a little warped on that.

Bartise gives me such a weird vibe like he reminds me of people I know that have avoidant attachment style/narcissistic traits. Like it sounds like he's quick to say he loves and cares about Nancy when she pulls away but his actions don't match that love, or he suddenly gets the ick and changes his mind.

I am watching interviews with the cast members waiting to see anybody addressing the scene in which Bartise waited for Raven for their last pod date after filling her pod with a lot of dollar bills on the floor. I was shocked by his 'joke' that, for me, indicates a loooot of red flags and potential flaws in his behavior and way of thinking, and it seems that nobody cares about that scene 😅

My issue with Nancy is that even if Bartiste had pretended to be interested in marrying her, why was she willing to go through with it after everything? Even if Bartise changed overnight, it doesn't erase all the things he did to her previously. I would never want to marry such a man.

@@glencoco4444 i think nancy might have anxious attachment/ at least some insecurities abiut not being good enough. We also see it with her family: they always say what she is supposed to do. She likely never learned to say no or base her value not on other people. I think she had tunnel vision about if she doesn't get married now, she won't ever.

I keep having this vision of a Tshirt with the word “YAMMERING” in bold San serif text, but the letters broken up and stacked together in three parts vertically: YAM-MER-ING. Then there would be still shots of Kirk throughout his video (of him yammering) that form a collage inside the ‘YAMMERING’ text. Then there could be a smaller slogan underneath.

Thanks for the video once again! It's very satisfying to hear you delve into your theories and hypotheses about these relationships and dynamics! I can't wait until I am in a better financial place and I can become a patron! Nancy comes across very genuine to me. I believe what she says and I think Bartise led her on. I'm not sure why he did it, but I believe he knew ahead of time he was going to say no and didn't tell her he was going to and gave her signals that he was going to say yes.

Keep in mind these are the same producers who make "Married at First Sight." They're very into the idea that making a commitment to someone forces you to make it work. That's the "process" that they're all trusting in -- stick with it even though you're not feeling it right now and you'll end up with a happy marriage. I think the producers are repeating this message to them over and over again. They use the word "experiment" to legitimize the "process" and also to justify the feelings of doubt and weirdness I'm sure they're all having. All the cult-y brainwashing would definitely cause them to make weird decisions, including waffling all the way up to the altar. I don't think even think they need an explicit contract to make them do it, just coercion and peer pressure.
@sallycinnamon53702 жыл бұрын
The thing is…they should just let it happen as a proper social experiment and let us watch actually happens and not try to keep us in suspense until the very end. They could shoot it more like ALONE where a couple may or may not leave the show every episode. Sometimes there is one couple, sometimes none, something more than one. Some leave earlier because they don’t feel the connection and you only follow a few right to the alter but you are more invested in them and know them better.
@fittomakeup98902 жыл бұрын
Agree 💯 percent. This is definitely not an observational experiment by the producers. The producers definitely manipulate parts of this experiment for entertainment and monetary purposes.
@ijustneedmyself2 жыл бұрын
I'm convinced they make them go to the altar because it's more dramatic to leave someone standing at the altar. The Japanese version of the show allows them to leave before the altar. I have no doubt in my mind that some of these people would leave before the altar if they could. Alternatively, there might be a nice incentive provided if they do go to the altar and I'm sure no one would turn it down depending on how much it is lol

Yeah, would be great if we could see more couples and more connections in the pods. If no one would make ot to the altar they could still show us more stuff from pods and what lead to decision to break up. It would be still interesting, maybe even more, because it would be true.

Dr. Honda, you're talking about Clare from the bachelorette. My issue with her choosing dale right off the bat was that they actually spend like zero time together (like maybe six hours max) and homeboy had to propose. It honestly did not make sense. She was clearly thinking with her flower and not her power. He also ended up 1) announcing their break up without telling her very early on and 2) when they reconciled, he cheated on her. They ended the relash for good then.
@jennyyyy1892 жыл бұрын
But Clare just recently revealed she was pushed out by producers and it wasn't even her idea to quit. And I think it looked like it too. It was so weird how the host spoke to her. And Dale didn't have to propose, he was a grown man. He strung her along and promised her the world and people mocked her for believing her man. That whole season was so sad and was the last season (besides Katie's) I watched because I was so disappointed in how the men and production treated and portrayed her.

I completely agree with you, my instinct would be to coordinate our approach to the film crew together as (if not a romantic couple) then at least a team with mutual respect for each other. The way some of these people approach it, like out for themselves only doing what's good for them signals to me that they're not ready to be in a serious partnership.

It could also be that Bartise doesn’t have a strong connection to self. If that were the case then I think he’d have a hard time recognizing when something feels a certain way, and taking the appropriate action. It could also be that he was not experienced enough to be ready to do the experiment. And on that note re: experience, idk why the creators/producers are ageist about who they accept into the experiment - how come the contestants have never been in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s..? I think the show would be even more interesting if it was more inclusive. The way they’ve done it, it’s clearly designed to exploit gullible and inexperienced young people. (Minus business savvy people like Raven and SK lol)
@abbys.92332 жыл бұрын
Interesting perspective. I tend to think Bartise knew his true feelings for Nancy and his behavior was not due to lack of sense of self, but that is just my take. Upvote for point about ageism. Let’s have a 40 and up Love is Blind!

If Bartise is maybe avoidant in attachment, I think he was really meaning he cherished Nancy as a friend and maybe had romantic feelings for her. He may have legit had a hard time reconciling feeling emotional intimacy but not being able to center sexual attraction. Idk if he had other motives, conscious or unconscious.
