We adopted our son when he was 11. He is all over the spectrum , well functioning without empathy. It’s been a difficult road. He is now 25, in his own apartment with a job but he still struggles without friends. He’s very hard to love. I love your story…just found you guys and I’m catching up on the videos. I love them so. ❤❤ I wish I could visit with them! It was through watching the show Love on the Spectrum that I realized I’m on the Spectrum myself. I’m 61 years of age and see so very much of my own self in Abbey’s. “Getting to know her” as best as one can through a screen is quite frankly, mind blowing! It’s like I’m watching & listening to myself. Unbelievable! I’ve more recently came to accept that I’ll never find that “someone special” to spend the rest of my life with however, I’m certainly going to enjoy spending some of my time with Abbey & David as they continue what I perceive to be a lifelong love of their lives together. I do hope that they’ll have their own “spin-off” from Love on the Spectrum! It makes me feel happy for them when they’re smiling😊. There’s potential to reach so many people who are on the Spectrum. What a wonderful “educational” platform that would be. We would benefit greatly in many ways. Seeing that we aren’t alone is an amazing feeling to have when we’re at a time when we’re feeling like there’s nobody else who understands & accepts our minds as they are… … Perfectly Imperfect, just like anyone else’s ✌️💛💡 If Abbey & David are ever going to be in South West Michigan, I would LOVE to meet them for a visit 😊. @@kellydobinson8011 Same. I'm _fiercely_ independent and I love that. I'm not constantly weighted down by silly societal norms or peer pressure and am not embarrassed about the passion I have for my "special interests". I'm perfectly happy just being who I am and don't need society's approval. ..so in that sense, I feel very lucky compared to neurotypicals. Unfortunately, I developed C-PTSD because I wasn't diagnosed until adulthood, so I was treated as a "problem child" when I was young. (This is very common for millenial autistics) Obviously the PTSD is horrible. ...but the autism itself is fine with me. I genuinely wouldn't change it if I could.

Abbey and David you two are so amazing! My youngest has autism and I have held on to my belief that as he becomes an adult life will become easier and he will be excepted by the world. School has been so very hard for him!!! He gets bullied for being different and has a very hard time making friends even though he is social he is socially awkward and has a hard time communicating, socially with others that they can understand. it’s been a very hard road but he is almost 15 and seeing you two has given me so much hope
