The BBC did a documentary a few years ago regarding how American obesity was directly related to FCS, they took their findings to the US Government, who didn't want to know as FCS is a cheap product in comparison to sugar. The body cannot cope with it. I am an American who remembers before the Vietnam war, people were rarely fat, children were rarely obese. FCS IS IN EVERYTHING!! I now live in England and our food is clear of it. I adore what you are doing and think your findings and teachings are going to change the mature years of all of us girls!! Hooray for you and I am over the moon to have found you (here in England).

I’m 58 years young this year & after a partial hysterectomy at age 33, I’m definitely on the menopause train (😢). My weight has suddenly climbed 30 pounds in the past 2 years AFTER I lost 60 pounds (I kept it off for about 3 years…then COVID, of course). So I’m back on estradiol patches to relieve the multitude of hormonal crap (hot flashes, insomnia, weight gain, etc., etc.,) But the most disturbing is that my Hgb A1C climbed a point and my average daily glucose is 100 - so now I’m diagnosed as pre-diabetic/insulin resistant. And my ANA values are elevated, so we’re ruling out autoimmune. BUT I’m SOOOOO glad to find you!!! I’m getting back to eating a balanced, high quality diet and avoid processed foods of all sorts. AND I’m following you and have pre-ordered your book. Can’t wait!

To some extent, you do also have to be careful with naturally occurring sugars in foods because some people will really overdo it and, ultimately, high blood sugar is high blood sugar. My mom, for example, is a fruit addict. She eats insane amounts of fruit daily, along with potatoes, etc., and her diabetes is very poorly controlled.

I just go between hot and chills mostly, yes excessive sweating 😓, and night sweats definitely 💯. I literally honestly feel sugar robbed me of having parents. Battled chronic health problems from sugar. My mom didn’t change her eating habits in perimenopause. Thank G-D He led me to you Dr Haver along with others. The late Suzanne Somers too. 😢

GREAT info! I am your age (will be 53 this year) and just starting to experience peri menopause..I am cycling regularly, but experiencing insomnia, night sweats, joint pain, mood swings...all much much worse when I give in to foods with added sugar and refined carbs. I eat well and do cardio and strength training daily.. but things are a changin' and sugar is a HARD PASS these days. My mother is addicted to sugar, is morbidly obese and is on antidepressants and sleep aids (statins, etc, etc). I cannot get through to her...she is definitely not willing to do the hard work to get off sugar and feel better. Thanks so much for this!! XOXO

Just discovered why ? I might be gaining weight ……just discovered that the almond milk my brother was buying I always say unsweetened because my blood sugar spikes. Discover it has cane sugar …..unsweetened DOESNT but this is Original and making smoothies with it. Gained 30 pounds. Also going to avoid little cookies as treats and find something else. I avoid fruit 🍎 berries …..if any fruit it is berries. Had blood work yesterday my C reactive protein is climbing highest 5.0 in Ontario mine 3.0 ……bought unsweetened almond milk off Amazon silk brand. I need this menopause weight gain going down, also bought more apple cider vinegar supposed to be great for blood sugar absorption slows it down. My fasting glucose is higher compared to January 24 now 60 COULDNT fast in January blood sugar swings but I was able to fast almost 10 hours. Yesterday for blood work. Eating more protein. 😢😢😢 this stage in life sucks especially when your not yet 40. Mine started at 30. On progesterone, Estrogen is on off CANT get a doctor to put me on it so I stay on it. Have had to beg Doctors for some. Here there. 😢😢😢 I may go into complete menopause maybe before I get it. But I am not stopping fighting . Bought your new book 📚 on menopause. Need ❤all the resources I can get ahold of. I probably have a dozen plus menopause books now. My hemoglobin A1C in January was 5.5 which is at risk for diabetes it has only gone down to 5.3 . In 3-4 months. Upping my Omega 3 in supplement form and I do eat tuna and fish. As it helps C reactive protein, hell no not getting cardiovascular disease in my late 30’s. Not yet 40. My mother almost 73 diabetes *** most part controlled **** but cardiovascular problems cardiologist end of May. 😢😢

The less sugar you eat, the more sweet it will seem when you do eat it.

Ok I understand limit sugar to 25 grams and that doesn't include veggies and fruit. What about natural sugar like honey. Is it limit any sugar that have a calorie even if its natural??
