In an interview back in 2019, Miyako (lead guitar stage right in this video) mentioned she recorded all her guitar parts for the LP "Clockwork Immortality" at her home studio, then she re-amped it using a Peavey 6505 amp for the lead and solo parts. She also made the point that she used a Marshall amp for backing. In the same interview, she also mentioned that while touring in Japan in the previous year (2018), she used a rented Marshall amp head and it died on her halfway through a song and she had to improv by jumping onto the piano to finish the track (that's how talented she is). Apparently the fans didn't even realize it wasn't part of the plan. Maybe that's one of the reasons why she prefers a Peavey to a Marshall, her being supported by/sponsorship with Peavey notwithstanding...

Yeah i'm totally agree with you. For everyone who doesn't know doing overseas tour for Lovebites is not simple as you think, because the band can't carry their full equipment they must rent their equipment so it must be cost a lot. Just remember guys Lovebites formed in 2017 and the fact that they do overseas tour just 1 year after they formed it was actually mind blowing Miyako (The silent guitarist that using Dean) in some interview said in Japan even the smallest venue have a legit good quality amp but in Europe she must rent it because the venue doesn't have it she struggle with her equipment have a lot of problems to create her ideal guitar tone. But even with all the problems that she get and she still sound amazing is impressive

If you ever get to watch the entire set, you will see them win the crowd over, song by song. Imagine the shock for the people who had no idea who Lovebites were--seeing these petite women come on stage dressed like fairy princesses, and then just blow the roof off the place. Thanks for checking this out!

would you happen to have a link to the entire show? I can only find individual songs.

@@Ed7501 The entire show consisted of only five songs. If you don't want to watch just single clips of these songs, you currently find the show split up into two clips (in the first one, they cut out the guy who introduced them), but the picture resolution is only 240p (most likely to prevent the clips from getting taken down). Since the algorithms immediately deleted my post when I posted this comment with links, search for the clips titled "LOVEBITES - WACKEN ( 2018 )_1" and "LOVEBITES - WACKEN ( 2018 )_2". BTW, the show was included on a DVD which came along with a special edition (only released in Japan) of their "Electric Pentagram"-album.

Wacken 2018 (Mecca of Metal) was an early fulfilling of a dream by Miho & Co. They were a sensation back then, the first Japanese all female band to play there. It was August 2nd to 4th, 2018, just after the release of EP "Battle Against Damnation" (B of A to K, "Awakening from Abyss" was released a year before). Judas Priest, Nightwish and Helloween were there as well. It may have been, that I even heard of them at that time (I have a déjà vu), a new band that rocks little Wacken, but I'm not sure. I wasn't there, but I think, there was a report on them on a local TV station... too bad, that it took me 5 more years to find them back again!

Miyako does sometimes comes off looking bored, but she's really got a bubbly sweet personality. She just reactivated her YT channel, and she does a lot of interacting with fans. She's also very humble and genuinely appreciate of fan support, proudly displaying the video/audio equipment she buys to improve her channel from super thanks donations. She even spent almost 4hrs straight during a virtual record signing thanking each fan who supported her by purchasing her EP of piano songs. Another fact about her that may have been brought up already is she just started playing guitar right before she turned 19. She never took proper lessons, and learned to play off an instructional book. She did have a solid musical foundation from playing classical piano from age 4, but it still took hours of practice s day to get proficient enough to play guitar in a band less than two years later.

This was on a side stage called the smaller Headbanger's Stage. LOVEBITES was the opener on day four, beginning at 11:00 am, but they won over the crowd pretty quickly. Not bad for a morning show!

Thanks for more LOVEBITES. I can grasp the constraint for 'reaction', but I also listened to this recording, this song, over and over, more than once a day all summer of 2020. I have found each song worthy of 'study', a quite enjoyable experience with each unique piece. A bit of irony that many want you to see/hear the 2020 encore opening 'version', but, as you mention, Asami is amazing in this and her 'soaring-hold' higher & higher then coming back down in ONE breath over Miyako's closing tapping-solo is fantastic. I also think about such a new band traveling so far so soon. The 'impression' they made got them main-stage at Bloodstock in UK 6 days later. [fill-in for Suicidal Tendencies] btw, this Wacken performance was noon on last day of festival. They were 'Awakening from Abyss' with LOVEBITES! I love this show! That studio-LIVE was my first disk of theirs. All are worth having/hearing/seeing. Somehow they do note-for-note, beat-for-beat performances, but each has a unique 'flavor' still. I don't say one is better than another, each their own preference, but I am repeatedly impressed everytime I watch this, most commonly straight through the 5-song, 30min set. Unsurpassed, imo. 🐺

I think you are right, this was 2018, early in their career and they are not a huge band so most people would not know who they were, but im sure they earned quite a few fans that day and the press media would agree since they got great reviews after playing at Wacken!! 🔥 Sadly i only discovered them in 2020 so i missed the last time they were here in Europe, but i wont miss the next!! 🤘😊

Please remember, this is from 2018 - they had only been a 'band' for *2 years* , and got invited to Wacken! This show propelled them to winning the UK *Metal Hammer of Golden Gods Award* in 2018 for *Best New Metal Band* . They Toured with Dragonforce in 2019 and then to Europe again after. Then . . Covid hit, gigs dried up, International tours got cancelled, and in 2021 the Founder and original bassist *Miho* quit the band for personal reasons. Meanwhile, *Miyako* (stoic one) and *Asami* (vocals) got pregnant and went on maternity leave. They hired *Fami* (new bassist) last October. Here is the title track from their 2023 Resurrection Album, *_Judgment Day_* . kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2TYeJ2mYrVqeqs (Better Than Ever!) 🤘🐺🤘

LOVEBITES - The Hammer Of Wrath lyrics: What's the worst way to die? Burning to death, or drowning? Everyone laughs in derision There's no hope at all Why is the world rotting away Howling in pain, they slowly die All of the sorrow is murderous The insanity (Burn up) They're calling me (Burn up) It's do or die (Burn up) Get ready for hell (Bring down justice to the wicked) Don't look away from the mistakes Open your eyes, and see the truth When lightning cracks the blackened sky Listen to the screams of distress It's like a bad dream but it's not No way to get out, a living nightmare Bring down the Hammer of Wrath Who will be the next to burn? The only thing I would suggest to you about the different amps Miyako was using is this concert is before the other concerts. I know from watching some of her videos when she is just talking with fans, Miyako is a bit of a mad scientists when it comes to the sound of her guitars. She has a video were she is explaining and shows how she changes the hardware (capacitors?) on the guitars herself to get different sounds. I know she has another video where she does a "Box Opening" of her new Dean guitar which she dosn't have in this video and was filmed after this. It could be she just didn't buy the Marshal's yet? I know nothing about anything when it comes to music. Just giving another possibility.

Midori has it easy when touring in Europe, she only needs to bring her USB stick and put it in a Kemper profiler! Miyako has to work with what she can hire, so never her real sound!

You can rent Kempers and just bring your usb stick of profiles. I'm almost positive everything was rented except their guitars and Miyako's (bored girl) and Miho's (bass) pedal boards. Midori doesnt need a dedicated board for od's and effects they are in the profiles and the Kemper's Floor controller. Excellent observation on why the Japanese or home shows for Lovebites are larger and have more of their own gear. Its costs mucho bucks too freight their own gear and stage show overseas as well as the astronomical costs of touring buses and nightly accommodations for the band and their crew's. For many of us they are a Huge Deal but in reality they dont make a whole lot of $$$ touring oversea's other than the exposure and some $$$ from merch sales. Nemophilia had too rent gear in this same fashion when they toured the US/Oversea's and Same with Band Maid,etc....

I thought the Wacken production was good, but overall I think a person could tell LB was not quite as polished, and Asami had a few voice difficulties. However, still very entertaining! I'm not sure, but I don't believe I have seen you react to Unlucky Morpheus, probably the closest band to Lovebites quality. I would recommend Knight of Sword or Dignity of Spirit. There is quite a bit of history to the band, but the musicianship is equal to LB, but a different style. And yes, they are all an Japanese band, but not all female ;). Fuki, the lead singer, is probably one of the most recognized vocal talents and has been (and is) in a variety of bands. And Jill is a classically trained violinist, extremely talented. Hope you try and enjoy!!

@guygourley2411. This is live ,not the postproduction " perfect no flaws " crap Japanese Production where you can't understand 80% of the Lyrics , and it is to treble in the Japanese Production, this is how you hear them real live , and that is the deal , this is what I want ,the raw live recordings as I have it experienced.
@guygourley2411 Жыл бұрын
@@powertothebauer296 My meaning was that LB were not quite as good as in later concerts where they seemed more relaxed. Asami also has a stronger voice now. I have no issues with their live performances which are generally (to me) better than the studio versions.

I know UM but I can't stand the growls or screams , it seems to me that in the mixes studio or live in Japan the guitars and bass is to much in the background , hell even the drums , only on solos or some special things you can hear those instruments , they should get rid of the programable class D amps for the PA System, Those F........g digital Amps messing with the sound
