Seen and listened to a flood of great metal music in my life. But with Lovebites a sea change happened. Suddenly there they were - five elegant ladies, well-dressed in white and full of gravitas, elevating the genre to a level I'd never experienced before. These brilliant musicians have added so many beautiful moments to my world ... and the best thing is: this magical journey is far from over.

Miyako is an outstanding musician. She has studied piano since she was 3 and only picked up the guitar in her late teens. A true virtuoso and maestro on both instruments. Love how she finishes the piano intro and picks up her plectrum from on top of the piano...then 3 seconds later is shredding with it. Frozen Serenade has an amazing piano breakdown.

Miyako composed the music, as others have mentioned inspired by pieces from Chopin and Dvorak, though her favorite composer overall is Rachmaninoff. And she played the Chopin intro from memory, no sheet music. There is piano playing during the song, it's on track but was recorded by Miyako. Asami wrote the lyrics after the music was done, she has performed classical ballet and the music reminded her of Swan Lake.

If you enjoy both metal and classical music, you're certainly in the right place. Miyako (lead guitarist/pianist at stage left) is a generational talent who is a virtuoso on BOTH the guitar and piano. She has been classically-trained on the piano since the age of 3. Miyako also composed & arranged "Swan Song" and this track is a neoclassical metal masterpiece. Throughout the song, you can hear motifs from Romantic-era composers Chopin (intro, main riff, solo) and Dvořák (Chorus). Miyako's piano intro is Chopin's "Étude Op. 10, No. 12 in C minor", aka the "Revolutionary Étude". Check out another masterpiece from these amazing ladies - "A Frozen Serenade" LIVE : kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXbNf2qads1npc0

Let me start by saying Miyako is an incredible musician. She plays 5 instruments, sings harmonizing vocals, and composes amazing songs. The Chopin Etude #12, however, is not a difficult piece for a classically trained pianist. I would venture to say she was playing this etude by the time she was 10 or 11. What has always amazed me is how well it was played on a digital piano.

Some knowledge of history is required to understand the meaning of the lyrics of this song. In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, in what was known as the 'November Revolution', but failed due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's representatives presented the Etude OP 10, No. 12 in Paris. Franz Liszt, a friend of Chopin, then named it the 'Revolutionary Etude'. Miyako composed Swan Song based on this 'Revolutionary Etude' and Dvorak's 'New World Symphony'. Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite "Swan Lake", based on the historical background of the "Revolutionary Etude". "SwanSong" is a requiem for the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only Love Bites could complete.

As a viewer, I want to share the emotions of your reaction to the music of the artist, so see your facial expressions, your body language. If the your size is too small this is difficult. Anyway, as your journey with Japanese music is on the way, I'd like to recommend an excellent group called UNLUCKY MORPHEUS, you can choose almost anything to watch, they have only bangers. They are more on the symphonic metal side, as they have a talented violonist in the band, but the guitarists are beasts too, and Fuki is one of the best female metal singer out there, the drummer is well... out of the charts.
