Oh my gosh I loved this! First time I've seen you do a painting with acrylics; very nice. And since you love lilacs, let me tell you about Lilacia Park in Lombard IL. They planted some bulbs too, just to add color to the ground, but otherwise, it is an entire park of Lilac bushes from all over the world. Beautiful! There's even a springtime festival with a Queen and her court...not my thing at all, but the park is lovely! Standing on the train platform to go into Chicago, the scent just about knocks you over! Just a little trivia for the day. 😃 Thank you for this visit to Spring!

Your voice is so soothing I could watch you all day and all night as I always tell you. You brought back so many memories painting this picture. My grandmother had a walkway with lilac trees on both sides as you walk up to her front door. It would remind me of being married as a little girl, giggles🤭🤭🤭 having the trees come up and over our heads, all the way to her door🥰😊❤❤❤ and the smell oh, so romantic, heavenly, beautiful. My oldest daughter Loves lilacs also she fills a mason jar full of the lilacs that is growing around her home, I think I'm going to paint this and surprise her with a painting of them. I love this painting. I have a white lilac bush out my window and they're not in full bloom yet but we have a lot this year. I'm in NJ and I guess we have an earlier season here because they are gone before the end of May. Love your paintings - be well and stay safe.

Wonderful color choices, especially within the vase! There are several areas of the piece that you could crop out (again, like the vase) and have a totally separate, abstract piece that would work on its own. They are my favorite! My parents have a large lilac Bush and it blooms at the end of may-beginning of june. It means summer is almost here in Maine!

Yay, I'm # 200 likes. Hey, Lindsay, have you ever tried spraying a little water with a mister on your palate to keep paints from forming that skin? It helps keep them from drying for a little while longer. Just my tip to you.

A Retarder can make the paint last longer (a couple days before it starts getting gooey) also a stay wet palette.

Beautiful! Can you mix a blending gel (slow dri) to my acrylic paints?? I don't have the new open acrylics. I've got Liquitex slow dri blending gel and Golden gloss Medium for acrylic fluid. Which is the better of the two?

Hello Lindsay, I love the smell of lilacs. My favorite sign of Spring is the yellow forsythia. Now a question, have you ever used the Slow-Dri blending gels for acrylics? If so, I'd love to know your opinion on them and if there was also an alternative if you can't get the other? Thank you so much. One of the reasons I subscribed to your channel was because of you saying "use what you have", that and the fact that you're the only one who makes watercolor painting make sense. You explain what does what and why it does, etc etc. Still have you and yours in my prayers every day. Take care and God bless. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas PS. Thanks Becky:) the slow dry gels are retarders do keep the paint wet longer but I dislike how they thin the paint.

Hi Lindsay, could you tell me if mixing ultramarine and alizarin crimson would make the right purple for this painting? My acrylics are definitely limited palette ;)

This is awesome. I have a question and would be interested in your take on it. I'm thinking of trying to pain plein air but am concerned about the acrylics and or gauche drying while in the pallet prior to it reaching the canvas. Any thoughts??

You can use either but I suggest a stay wet palette
