I love this man. God bless him for putting all this information out for free. I have had bad back pain for 3 years and only recently it became alot worse then I came across this channel and Just few weaks into the stretching he tells and It's very less pain. Earlier I used lie on my stomach side on bed and it felt like my back was bending and falling into the bed, it felt like there was a heavy stone kept on it . Glad I started doing streches he told and I feel very less pain compared to what I had earlier and all this in just a week. I am already lifting better and heavier now, everybody told me that its disc and I'll be like this for rest of my life. I was and still am too broke to go see a doctor and if it wasn't for this man I'd still be walking like an old man. I feel like soon I'll be able to get back to what I was and I was very fast . Can you talk about lower back pain when front squatting? Have more pain front squatting compared to back.
@mwdaros Жыл бұрын
You are most likely not keeping your back in a neutral position throughout the lift. Depending on where in the back the pain is, you could have a butt wink problem.
@Chris-ie2yd Жыл бұрын
I've been having lower back pain after a seemingly small injury from squat, that just never seemed to go away and has gotten worse over the 2 years. It's very localized around the L5-S1 area - if i relax completely and press a lacrosse ball in there i feel some soreness around the vertebrae, which makes me think it might be my multifidi muscle? Pain improves a lot with warming up with cat/cow stretches etc. I can also do Jeffersen Curls with weight without the pain worsening - pain can definently be felt tho both during flexion and extension, however no pain felt with compression. Pain can come and go quite quickly - usually my lowerback just feel irritated, but sometimes it flares up and becomes quite painful - where even warming up doesn't do much.
@absolutelysobeast5 ай бұрын
As far as i know, rolling out your back is a very bad idea. You really dont want to be messing around with your vertebrae like that. In basically EVERY lift your low back should not be moving at all. It should be absolutely neutral and thats exactly what bracing does is maintain that neutrality and stiffness back there. If its been 2 years you should definitely see a doctor if you can afford it. You may be doing more continual damage to it by not getting it diagnosed or treated. Check out squat universitys video on the “mcgill big 3” and at least start there until you can get it diagnosed
@absolutelysobeast5 ай бұрын
And make sure to watch squat u’s videos on proper bracing technique to avoide further aggravation

Thanks for the answer - i've already been to the doctor and had and MRI, which showed nothing. They've send me to 2 seperate physios, but with no improvement unfortunately. That's why i'm kind of lost on what to do :/ - atleast its supposedly nothing joint/bone disc related, since the doctors found nothing on the MRI.@@absolutelysobeast

@absolutelysobeast5 ай бұрын
Do you mean actual pain? Or soreness? Totally different things. If your form is proper and you do proper bracing and you dont experience any pain while actually lifting and doing the movement everything should be alright. If you have actual pain after lifting that may be an issue. Soreness is to be expected and means you will be strengthening the muscles that are sore. Pain is a whole nother deal entirely

Can you explain how to maintain engaged core without holding my breath
@absolutelysobeast5 ай бұрын
You should be holding your breath. Basically you brace, hold your breath and then complete the rep. Then you breathe and can rebrace before your next rep. But you should be bracing throughout the entire movement. Over time you will be able to brace and maybe let your breath out right at the end of the rep when its close to a 1 rep max effort lift but bracing should be maintained throughout the whole movement. Having the air in your core and bracing creates a very strong support for your heavy lift. If you let that air out you are actually weakening your core strength in that moment and risking an instability and injury
