Some months ago I take a cheap chassis and a cheap very little and narrow bodyshell.. I got the best Crawler in our garage ! It was so better than Axial and Traxxas to get the name of "The King". From then to now all the interesting job for us has been to make each Crawler get performance the most similar to "The King". This has made a great growth of performance for all our vehicles. ...in the end our "King" is quite similar to the vehicle in you video (except our is really cheap!) One of the simple teachings is that the main obstacle to crawling performance is the body shell !!

yep! I am awaiting a new RTR gatekeeper, gonna pull the cage off and sell, slamthe frame low and redo susp geometry, and get the powerwagon cab on it. I'm pulling any weight off the rear and top and get brass on the front! should be fun. I always wanted a low CG rig like this, but like your "king"....budget!

These are really just a logical design eventuality. Ultimately it comes down to a balance between scale and performance, and that's the magic of preference, and personalization.

It would be very cool to see a full build of one of the lcg crawlers. I think one of the most confusing things with these is knowing what parts to get for a complete rig. Obviously the electronics are easy to figure out, plus the tires etc. I dont think you could just buy the chassis then take an scxii or iii and take the rest of the parts off of it to complete the lcg unit. In order to get the best performance you need to get the right parts. Thanks for this video and I hope you do many more on this type of crawler.

So this chassis would be a direct swap from a SCX10ii... With very little mods all the components from a scx 10ii will swap over rather easy...

And then, you mention a place that is just magical for me: 2:11 8:42 and Moab too. Inspiring. I have only a toe in the water. A 1/18 Gelande II. I love it. That is a Gspeed chassis. G-speed is also responsible for the design collaboration with John Holmes for the chassis made by Team Garage Hack -TGH. I myself have a build in the works using their parts. I am glad to see coverage of this part of the hobby. Please do a chassis comparison using a set if control parts and making the only variable the comp chassis. I myaelf would like to know how G-speed, Team Garage Hack TGH-HH, Spare Time Hobbies W1v1, and Brazin Scale all time low chassis' compete against a fixed set of parts. In your crawlwr comp course. Do you prefer a Low CG crawler or a rig with portals and high clearance?
@ColoradoStreaming
@ColoradoStreaming 4 жыл бұрын
One nice thing about portals is you can get brass portal axle covers which puts the weight below the axle so its kind of like the best of both worlds.

For smooth trails with extreme climbs and sidehilling, Low CG for sure. Rock rocky climbs, and trail running, high clearance is king!!!

It is a possibility. Problem is these are usually month-long builds with problem solving, waiting for parts and optimizing. If we can do it in a quick, controlled manner, that would be awesome.

Ok sir This is not a negative comment by any means. So you really can’t compare the “G-string” chassis to the vanquish chassis . There is no Comparison and they are completely different crawlers. I’ve used the V1,V2 G-string chassis when Gabe first started making them and a good bud of mine set up his rig Exactly like mine but using Axial chassis and was able to do the same thing I was able to do and we are both are competitive drivers in the crawler World. You can make any crawler chassis a lcg chassis by just using smaller shocks. I personally would like you to compare multiple different types of chassis the are Considered “belly draggers”. If this seems to be a negative post it’s not it’s just my opinion and Many others.

Low light and wide.... that's the way I build my rigs. I like using AR 60 axles for even more stability. Check out RC Crawler and look up wroncho builds. Then check out Harley Designs wroncho build. Looking at getting some capera axles and building one of these rigs. I like borrowing peoples rigs and offering to set them up for performance and giving it back to them.
