Today's workout is our 40 minute long walking workout, day 5. We'll be doing different exercises, all low impact with no jumping for a total of 40 minutes. This is a walk at home exercise program which requires no equipment at all.
This workout is part of a 7 day interval training program and is suitable for anyone who can currently walk for 30 minutes 4-6 times a week. If you are at that fitness level then you can start this program (suitable exercise for seniors, beginners, and people of all ages). Interval training is geared for burning calories and fat, building muscle, and getting past that plateau effect that so many people hit. Interval training uses brief bursts of high-intensity activity which provides the effects people are looking for...more results!
The breakdown of each day:
Day 1: 30 minute interval workout • Walk the WEIGHT OFF! |...
Day 2: 20 minute walk • At Home Exercise Progr...
Day 3: 30 minute interval workout • WEIGHT LOSS WORKOUT | ...
Day 4: Rest day or a gentle walk (there is no video)
Day 5: 40 minute walking workout • LOW IMPACT WALKING WOR...
Day 6: 20 minute walking workout • 20 Minute LOW IMPACT W...
Day 7: 20 minute walking workout • LOW IMPACT HOME WORKOU...
Ideally, you'll continue this workout for 4 weeks. When I did this workout 20 some odd years ago, I shed weight really quickly. I had about 20 pounds to lose and I lost it. Interval training is super effective if done properly. As with anything, your body will start to get used to the workout so I'll create a new program for weeks 5-8. It'll just be a bit more challenging which is what your body will need at that point. Please email me if you have any questions about the workouts. Always listen to your body and take an extra day off at any point if you really feel you need it. The last thing you want is injuries so definitely listen to your body and go at the pace that suits your body and your fitness level.

I truly enjoy your workouts - I don’t need the talking. I much prefer listening to music while I walk. Plus, your exercises include arm work and more interesting moves. Where I live, it gets hot in the summer, cold and wet in the winter, so it makes it difficult to walk everyday. Since I’m 73, it’s important that I get daily exercise. Your workouts are perfect for me and I look forward to them every day. You offer different videos with a variety of music, so I do them all.

I started exercising with you on 8th January this year, 6 days after my 73rd birthday, doing a 10 minute session. After 2 minutes I thought I was going to die (slight exaggeration 😆) and I never thought I would manage today’s 40 minutes - but I did, with ease. Yes, I know it’s not the hardest exercise session, but I was really pleased. Thank you so much for getting my stamina up again. I exercise with you every day and I love it. Thank you ❤️❤️

My aim is not necessarily to lose weight (but that would be a bonus) but to be fit and have stamina. Before I found your videos I used to make myself do 30 squats every morning, but I didn’t enjoy doing them. So again, many, many thanks for all your work with the videos. Blessings. ❤️

Just wanted to let you know, I've been working out to your videos for 2 months now. I'm 29, and 240lbs. I was recently brought aware that my A1c is 5.6, I'm so close to being pre-diabetic. I'm beginning my journey to a better life. Thank you for sharing your videos and helping all of us be active. I'm taking baby steps but I'm gunna keep going till I'm healthy again.

Your goal to inspire us has been met. I truly look forward to searching through all the choices you offer. Today's 40 minutes was just what was needed to meet my step count and exercise time allotment, rounding up what I didn't amass conquering Costco, ha ha.

I just want to say how thankful I am to have found your exercise videos. I have had issues with my piriformis muscle for years and after doing some of the other people's videos I was just so sore for a couples afterward. Your videos have been a godsend and that muscle hardly even bothers me. It would seem that your style of exercising has actually strengthened this muscle and made it more tolerant to exercise. I have told a number of friends how much I enjoy your videos and I hope that they will take advantage of them. Thank you so much.

First of all THANK-YOU! It is evident that you have put a great deal of work into these workouts. I have many health issues and my doctor is thrilled that I am doing this. This is my first time through the second set and I can proudly say I have stuck it out every day even when I couldn't stand the thought of exercise. Your routines are enjoyable, challenging, and doable. Weight loss has been seemingly out of reach for a very long time so I choose to focus on health improvements. I feel my muscles getting stronger, my balance getting much better, and even my circulation is improved. Again, thank-you! You are an inspiration.

I started making this my end of the day cool down exercise. I do about 45 min to an hour of moderate to HIIT cardio abs. This was great thank you so much

I usually have a hard time sticking to an exercise routine, but because of the number of routines/durations of exercise you have made I have found it much easier to stay on track. Jules, this workout was 4.635 steps of pure movement and I really enjoyed it. It's a little longer than what I normally do, but I'm taking tomorrow off (working all day) so that was good too. It's fun to go back to your older videos and see how far I've come AND see how far you've come as well! Thanks so much!!

I enjoy your workouts for many of the reasons others have shared. Inspiring, doable, no chatter, good music. I have told several people about your workouts. I am curious also about your footwear. I love the sapphire blue! Do you have a particular brand you like? Thanks for any advice you can give.

Thanks for your feedback, Dawn. I appreciate it. I’ve had a few people ask me recently about the shoes I wear. I usually buy Puma shoes for a variety of reasons. They don’t have tread on the bottom so they work well for indoor workouts. I also find them incredibly comfy and they fit my feet well (I have wide feet). I am going to work on creating a ‘shopping’ list of workout gear I recommend and will put it on my website soon.

Finished day 5 and it wasn't so much hard as it was hot! But I turned on the fan and that helped a lot. The music was perfect and all the morning stiffness I felt was gone so after doing a 12 minute stretch, I feel really good! Thank you Jules!

My goodness me!! That one took a lot out of me this time. I had to stop for a sip or two of water. Kept going till the end though, so I’m pleased with myself 😅. Couldn’t get to the tv to do this yesterday so I just had to do the best I could on my own. Much prefer it with you as I know I’m not doing it right on my own. I’m better with motivation. Decided to give this 40-minute workout a go this morning and I actually finished the whole thing without a break. It felt like I really accomplished something which is a great feeling to say the least. Once in awhile longer workouts can be so beneficial but think I prefer the shorter ones . Had the extra time so glad I decided to do it. Thanks Jules for all the time and work you put into them for us. I know we all appreciate you!

I continually tell you that different workouts of yours are my favorite but this one really must be! 40 minutes, 2 miles & over 4000 steps. I may just do this one every morning! Thanks for all you do for us Jules!

Loved this. 2 weeks ago I struggled to do 2000 steps. Love your workouts. 56 years old and needing to get fitter. These are just what I need.

I am very happy to hear you are seeing improvements already in your fitness. It doesn't take long once you get started and stick with it. Just trust that changes will happen...everyone sees changes in different time periods but improvements will continue with time and perseverance!

Absolutely love your videos for walking. User friendly with great visual cues over verbal is the best. A go at your own pace body language and facial expressions of feeling good about what you are doing and great motivating music. The perfect one and done 😊Thank you

Hullo Jules....second time around....was attuned to the music, lyrics.....so thoughtfully apt throughout the workout. The sheer joy you exude exemplifies the fact that exercise should be a celebration...not a punishment..thank you! Still found the move at 22,or thereabouts, challenging...will practice them separately. So much gratitude🙏

Thank you so much for these workouts! I am pregnant with my second baby and these are just enough to get me moving without leaving me with no energy to take care of my toddler! He loves to “join in” and cracks up at me running in place during the interval workouts😀

Another fab work out. Loving the pace is slower at the end. Your smiling face and bobbing ponytail really motivates me. (I find I’m smiling back at you 😊). Music is perfect and yes it is all about me. Thank you so much 🥰

I love this workout with its 30 second pattern format. The steps change frequently enough so I don't get bored and I have to pay attention so as not to miss the change. Please keep these work outs coming.

I just found your videos this week and I have to say I am really enjoying them. I really love the choice of music and the countdown for each set of exercises. I am really looking forward to continuing with them. I am in my 70's and don't find all exercise videos work for me and my back issues but yours are great.

I had a rest day yesterday after working out every day for 3 weeks. I decided to do a longer workout today and decided on this one. Omg I had forgotten how much fun this workout is. The music is brilliant. Jules I know you are a busy lady but would you mind listing all the tracks and the artists for this wonderful workout. I am thrilled to hear you enjoyed the workout again:) As for music, you're right, it's another thing to add to my list of things to do and it all takes time (with working full-time, spending time with my kids and doing YT, there is only so much I can do). I get most of my music from Epidemic Sound (a link is provided). Shazam (a free music app) will also tell you which songs you're listening to:)
