Gram flour is high FODMAP, but some people can tolerate a little. I’d use corn flour and mix it with carbonated water. It makes a kind of tempur batter.

Ladsies may I say, I had bed ridden IBS for three years, and I did the whole low fodmap thing, fermented food, tried a million diets, and the number one thing that healed my digestion was fruit and green juices and herbs. Easiest thing to digest for humans!!

Thank you for making a low fodmop recipe! I have Colitis and there’s not much out there for recipes. I tried to do it before but honestly couldn’t find helpful info.

with the higher fodmap foods, are you only allowed a certain amount for the whole day or per meal?

This looks AMAZING I thought you couldn’t have seeds like fennel with certain digestive issues like diverticulitis. A friend of mine has that and gave this video and said no seeds. She will use powder form though so she can enjoy as well. Thank you so much for this

Made these the other night and they were amazing. Kids loved them also. Served on a bed of butter lettuce with some of the left over tahini sauce. Also the first few I put in the frypan with a little oil and they kept falling apart. So the next set I formed the patties then put in the fridge for 30 mins (while I ate the others :)) Then dipped them in the batter and air fried them and they came out perfect, so much better than the fried ones. I have posted a pic on my instagram #thehappypear

Natasha Lapierre I’m pretty sure you could but most beans aren’t low fodmap.. I think small amount of chickpeas and lentils can be low fodmap.
@Apocalypz6 жыл бұрын
Beans and lentils aren't low fodmap; however, you could swap them out for some nuts or seeds (e.g. macadamia, pine, walnuts). They'd also provide a good texture.

You really need to take a spore based probiotic like Thrive or megasporebiotic if you have gut problems that respond to a low fodmap diet. Once you get your gut rebalanced you shouldn't need to stick to low fodmap foods.
@holliecorrigan73346 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately reducing the amount of fermentable carbohydrates may have a negative impact on the gut microbiome rather than build it up. The commensal bacteria in the colon require these type of FODMAP carbohydrates also known as "prebiotics" in order to function properly and produce short chain fatty acids in the gut. The low FODMAP diet is a highly restrictive diet which is used for the IBS that doesn't respond to first line treatments and should be undertaken under strict clinical supervision by a specially trained Dietitian. As a student Dietitian, I appreciate that this is a resource I could potentially signpost IBS patients to for meal ideas but promoting the diet for people who don't have IBS and saying that it will build up there microbiome is unfortunately very misleading and potentially dangerous as the diet restricts prebiotics which are needed for a healthy gut. The long term health effects of the diet are unknown and as you have a huge audience which look to you for healthy eating tips I would be worried they would see this and think it's healthy for a normal person. I don't mean to be critical as I'm a fan of your content but I would encourage you to do more research before you promote the diet for people who don't have GI disorders. Low FODMAP diet has potential adverse affects, is highly restrictive, is carried out in phases and should only be taken for a short amount of time, which is why clinical supervision is needed. "Strict FODMAP restriction induces a potentially unfavorable gut microbiota, although the impact of this consequence upon health is unknown." www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5390324/
@falsul966 жыл бұрын
"These effects, if maintained over the long term, might theoretically carry health implications. However, the clinical significance of such changes remains unknown. It should also be noted that studies have not examined the microbiome of patients with IBS following the reintroduction of high-FODMAP foods to tolerated levels, as adherence to a strict low-FODMAP diet is only recommended for 2 to 6 weeks. Given the greater temporal instability of the microbiota in IBS patients vs healthy controls,48 as well as a greater instability in response to dietary modification,49 further work is needed to show the true effect of a diet low in FODMAPs, as delivered in clinical practice, on the microbiome of a person with IBS in the medium to long term."
