Sometimes you’re looking to “feel” something so you end up taking a high amount. After some time you might find that you’re too revved up and feel better on a lower dose. It’s all relative and different for everyone.

I am 60. Started TRT 1/5/20. Discovering my T levels very low. My Doctor increased my dose very quickly- from 140 mg per week to 300mg per week. Symptoms have been slow to improve - but just beginning to feel the benefits. A lot more energy - and even a return to a sex life I had forgot existed. Best advice is just stick with it - and forget all the scary stuff , philip Collins. Chelsea London UK.

Wholeheartedly agree with Danny, most docs are clueless with trt, not only did I fight for treatment they only stuck with the range and I felt crap, utter crap always so I had no choice but to go private and finally a doc who treated the person not the god damn numbers. After a year I feel human again, normal as I should. health vastly improved I’ve lost 60lbs of fat, gained 15lbs of muscle probably some water weight, no brain fog, energy back to when I was in my 20s, healthy sex life, enjoy life. Once I got a good doc it took 3 months on 140mg split into daily shots, my original doc had me on 80mg a week with AI which was crazy, I know way more now and will never have AI again it’s not needed if your just replacing testosterone.

Hello! I’m 31 and my total test was at around 500 ngl but my shbg was 63 with a free test at 42 ngl. And weakly bound L at 83 . Had all symptoms above. Started 80 mgs week split into two doses. I honestly started to feel pretty good increased both free and weakly bound into healthy ranges. But was airing on the side of getting to “optimized range” we increased to 100mgs but also found out I contracted hepatitis c from back when I was using- I am now sort of doing my own research to see if the hepatitis and my liver scarring impacts my shbg. I’m now cured of the hepatitis c but 35 hours after my last shot my total shot up to 2000 and they want to decrease. I convinced her to do a trough test and that I break it back into two so the peaks aren’t so high. Any advice anybody? Thank you!

My testosterone was under 200. 6 months later I am at 1,700 (I got scared, but doc says don't look at numbers, look at symptoms/feeling). My back-acne is HORRIBLE though. Tried a month of doxy, been on benzyl peroxide soap and salicylic acid pads for months. Nothing. Not sure when this is supposed to change, if ever. That's my only downside.

The problem with focusing on "symptom resolution" is that the "symptoms of low testosterone" are usually so vague that they can be explained by a whole host of things, not just hormonal but also non-hormonal. Like the guy below who has high test, 2% free test and is complaining that he can't get TRT. He's clearly not deficient in testosterone; the problem is not there but somewhere else.

Same here, started 100mg per week. Felt great. After 3 months they did bloods and say estradiol and test is too high. Went from 268 test to 986 trough. They lowered to 80mg and wanted to add anastrozole .5mg twice a week. Now energy has gone down. Have not started AI cause I don’t want to feel worse. But if I don’t drop estradiol I’m sure the doc will lower test more. The problem is in Canada this is the only place that I know of offering TRT. Unless someone else has recommendations. I’m at the numbers and nurse practitioners mercy.

I would wait for a couple more months. I would also try to hone in on sleep, diet, reduce stress ect ect. That way you can really narrow it down to being ONLY the testosterone dose. Took me 6 months and lots of education and will power to get me feeling great. I almost upped my dose but decided to really get the explained above right first...like a really honest effort. And WALLA...its worked. Sleep and diet...kinda pisses me off though cuz some things out of my control like 12hr rotating shift work at my job really fuck with my sleep but i bend over backwards to do the best i can. Diet was a sinch but still takes lots of effort. My boners now are fucking huge LOL. Good luck

Many people on this channel claim levels need to be at 1200-1800 to feel better. But I don’t understand why their bodies all of a sudden require so much more amount than most normal people (non TRT)? A normal person feels healthy and just fine at 600-1000. Something is not adding up? I thought testosterone replacement is simply replacing your body’s endogenous T with bio identical hormones? So what’s causing this disparity?
@TheDannyBossaPodcast
@TheDannyBossaPodcast 3 жыл бұрын
Androgen resistance. It's becoming more and more common due to environmental toxins polluting the body.
@sungbeats

@@TheDannyBossaPodcast Thanks for the response Danny. Yes that makes sense but there are tons of TRT doctors that get results by keeping patients at a range of 800-1000. As far as I know, that was the sweet spot for ages. I don't get why all of a sudden in the past 2 years, this channel and some others are promoting 1200-1800. What explains that disparity? Is it just treatment differences?
@TheDannyBossaPodcast
@TheDannyBossaPodcast 3 жыл бұрын
@@sungbeats any doctor who claims there is a sweet spot for all men has zero understanding of this stuff. One man might feel optimized at 800 and another needs 1800. They key is to use the minimum amount required to resolve synktokst, whatever that amount is. We're not just replacing. We're not trying to match the body's diurnal rhythm. We're ensuring symptom resolution. Androgen resistance, which is becoming more and more common, sometimes forced us to use a lot more than another man would require. We will all have different needs. Just like one man needs one Advil to get rid of his headache and another needs three.

Prior to TRT my T was in the toilet @ 300 circa, for godknows how long before I discovered all this. Got on TRT levels elevated to 1050, on only 100mg cip per week (split over 3 subQ shots per week). Complete game changer, felt better than ever, but still having good days / bad days and not quite right, highly elevated E2. We agreed let’s try lowering the dose to 90mg a week (split across 7 shots subQ per week instead of 3). In the first week already feel outstanding, no bad days. Looking forward to my next bloods as I think my T will be lower (guessing 800.. let’s see) and hopefully E2 much lower. Originally they wanted to keep me at 100mg and give me an AI but I’m trying to avoid it. Anyway moral of the story is 90mg per week may put me at 800, but the next guy may need 200mg per week to get to 800, every single person is different. There is no optimal dose. If you put me on 200mg a week like so many clinics in the USA do, with 1 weekly injections, I can imagine my levels will be in the 2000 range, totally insane and not sustainable for me personally, certainly not without an AI. However for someone else that may be exactly what they need to feel better. There is no one size glove that fits all, as they say.

@@billrunham9610 where is all of this AI and estrogen talk coming from?? Why are you "hoping" your e2 will be lower?? Guys freak out when they are on a dose and feel "off" for a few days or feel tired... it's your body getting used to the dose. Most guys are WAY underdosed. Ugh, my freakin’ doctor is lowering my dose. I just asked her to get me off all psych meds because that’s how much my life has improved on TRT, but she has an issue getting me off the pills. She said “we can worry about coming off psych meds later.” I’m feeling great at 200mg. I don’t see the need to have to change that. Now I’m worried about going to back to having issues like when I was on 150mg. She wants to lower it because my levels are “too high” give me a break.

@@dralexbrothers And those very few people who experience blood clots are applicable to a normal population? I have not seen women on TRT with upregulated coag factors so if you could link those papers or studies that would be appreciated. On the other hand, women on other forms of designer drugs has no relevant bearing on TRT which is bio-identical to our body's own testosterone. You should know this as you seem knowledgeable enough. But, again, if you could link me papers or studies showing TRT causes blood clots I would be very interesting in perusing them.

@@dralexbrothers Thanks a lot for those links! That first study, in particular, will be a great read. The second, however, is problematic in due part to what I was saying before: TRT != HRT. We should not correlate Testosterone Therapy, which is the bioidentical hormone we produce, with Hormone Therapy, which includes designer drugs which mimic our body's hormones. I also want to be clear that I am not blind to the potential negative effects of TRT, which in my opinion is more to do with the method of administration as opposed to the ideal of the therapy itself-which is simply to add testosterone exogenously. After nearly 100 years, we're finally figuring out it may be beneficial to administer testosterone through injection into adipose tissue as opposed to muscle. Wow, 100 years. Why did it take that long for us to figure this out?

@@AnonymousQwerty gotcha man. I had daily anxiety, by week 10 of 200mg/week my anxiety was gone, motivation up as well. Id say besides muscle gain and strength, the biggest thing I've noticed is my anxiety is gone. My guess is 200mg is a reference point for trt, because MOST men won't be over that, so incrementally going down from there is probably the right move. If you start at 150, it might be too much or too little you know? All I can say is you'll more likely know by week 8-12 if its too much or not...worth the risk in my opinion. @Dragaroob standard dose for what? I've never heard of this, weight would have nothing to do with replacement therapy. That would mean a 190 lb man "standard dose" would be taking only 86 mg/week...that would more than likely do more harm than good.
@Last-Lap-Lando4
@Last-Lap-Lando4 3 жыл бұрын
@Dragaroob every guy reacts to testosterone differently by dose, but its not determined by weigh. By tur logic, a 120 lb guy would take 54mg/week of test. That would 100% not do anything beneficial and would still shut down natural production, so he'd be taking exogenous testosterone, not increasing his total T or his free T and shutting down his HPTA. Plus ur saying an obese guy is going to take more than a fit guy...the more testosterone you take, the more likely you'll have aromatization as well as the more adipose tissue you have the more likely you'll have higher conversion to estradiol...so it makes no sense to give someone more testosterone just because they weigh more.

I am not familiar with sustanon. I am on cypionate, but 200mg a week is ridiculously high (for cyp). I lowered to 160mg and my levels are still going up. A lot of guys start on 50mg a week. My doc likes to Rx 200mg because well, he's a bodybuilder so there is some bias. I didnt know that at first. Everyone is different, as this guy said, but it's been 6 months and my levels are skyrocketing, even when I cut back. At 700mg a week (even 200mg a week), youd body is going to break out. I got HORRIBLE break outs at 4 months and it got worse to 6 months. If you start low and work your way up, this apparently wont happen as bad. Just be careful.

So, I was taking 200mg once a week for 2 years. I felt great let's say 75% of this whole time. Then in the end of this 2 years I felt lot of anxiety, had panic attacks, face acne etc.. So, I think that maybe the problem wasn't the 200mg alone, it was the once a week injection. I told my doctor about my problems and he put me on AI. I took it for 2 weeks and I felt worse than before going on TRT. So I decided to ditch the AI and split the 200mg into 2x 100mg weekly. I haven't told him yet because I don't want to argue with him that AI destroyed me and instead of changing my protocol, he gave me poison. Because of this damn AI, I have no libido for weeks now.. Waiting for the 100mg 2x a week to kick in hoping I will feel great again. My Total T is 38 ng/l and estradiol 42pg/l.
