That’s a dope effect!! For the water drop effect, do everything you just did, just don’t wipe it down. Once the water/solvent has evaporated, just lock it in with some clear as it sits. 👍🏼

The way I’ve done water drops was to lay out the water, then use an airbrush (not a big gun) then get real low and shoot parallel to the surface you’re painting. Shooting with a bigger gun from the top won’t lay the paint on the water in a way that gives you that 3D spherical look. It will also put more paint on the areas between the water which probably isn’t what you want. You basically want to paint the sides of the water drop from one direction and then lightly go back from the other direction to just get the outline of the water drop. Let it dry and then you’re good. A quick clear over the top to set the look if you’re afraid you might rub. You don’t need to wipe the surface if you spray it right. Wiping will remove the gradient look on the surface from the evaporated water. Really like the way this all turned out. Just started with this vid so I’ll be sure to watch the rest of the series to see where it goes. Nice effects.

I’m not sure if anyone mentioned this and I know it’s almost a year later. Those water droplets, you have dry them with heat or let them evaporate in their own to get the other look you were mentioning. Amazing work!!

Lots of wet sanding with your finger to remove bumps.

For your drops always spray a coat of intercoat over the sanded surface fist before you spray the water. Bulldog spray would work also. What you want is to fill in all those sand scratches. See if you don't the water fills it in make your drops look more like splatter. But when you spray intercoat or bulldog first that fills in the the scratches allowing your water to bubble up more and also allowing you to spray the drops off

You said it looks foggy in the video. The reason for that is the angle of illumination from the light going into the camera lens. Change the light illumination angle and camera angle, and you won't see the foggy effect.
