Not all votes are counted yet last I checked as of around 9A, 11-6-24 if you are comparing 2020 to 2024 but I'd be interested to compare vote totals. There are a number of factors that can go into voter motivation in my view. I have been worried for years that these monopolies have been using their power to bring food prices up, among other goods, to both make more money and make people less likely to vote/ more likely to vote for Trump and get their tasty tax breaks they got when he was in power because a lot of them care about being money and government de-reg. I think it's more than a slim chance I could be right given the results because when people come out to vote, the democratic candidate usually wins for president. If one is struggling to get by/ struggling to buy with a lower relative income, people may become apathetic and check out, feel hopeless about their situation or even vote for the opposite party.

Dems need someone like Jon Stewart next election, someone who is attuned to progressive politics and can get people from both the far left and the center left. He didn't solve the Crimea-situation that's been going on since 2014 between Ukrain and Russia that definitely built up to the invasion of Ukrain, despite being buddy-buddy with Putin, his handling of the situation in Afghanistan eventually led to the Taliban getting to power. So yeah he might not have started any wars, but he certainly didn't end any wars either, it's not like he's some magical peacebringer.
