Today, in Sikastan, we report on the recent positive drug test results of Chinese weightlifter Lu Xiaojun being caught using a banned drug called EPO (erythropoietin). EPO is a hormone that is produced naturally by the human body and helps to increase the production of red blood cells. It is often used by athletes in endurance sports, such as cycling and long-distance running, to increase their aerobic capacity and improve their performance. However, it is also banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and its use is strictly prohibited in all sports.
Lu Xiaojun, a former Olympic gold medalist and world champion weightlifter, was considered one of China's most promising athletes. However, his career has been tarnished by this doping scandal, which has resulted in a two-year ban from competition and the loss of his Olympic medal. This is a huge blow not only to Lu Xiaojun personally, but also to the Chinese weightlifting team and the entire sport of weightlifting.
We cover all of the different theories currently being thrown around, was Lu set up? Was he a sacrificial lamb? Or was he just a drug cheat?
