@@ronaldwhitman1377 no the dude has been training for 20+ years, 100% not obtainable natural by most people still, but he has god genetics, and tbh the only thing that you could argue he used steroids is his quads, his upper body is definetly attainable naturally, if you dont think so then you are just making excuses

@@timonbubnic322 Yes, people are confusing his body with his strength. Obviously his sheer strength cannot obtained naturally (and even with steroids, most people twice his size wouldn't be able to get that strong), but his body seems achievable with a great diet, genes, and regimen.

@@calebhu6383 Well thinking like that we can just assume every top level athlete is on PEDs, i know everyone is saying o yeah they using designer drugs, they planning the testing and dosing off, blah blah blah, i dont think thats true, at least for most olympic lifters and athletes. China has the biggest pool of weightlifters and competition in the world, its bound to happen that a gem like lu xiaojun will come out every once in a while

A lot of you guys either don't know or forget that the Chinese start their lifters young with technique training, and Lu started relatively late (18 or so). He was originally a track athlete. By this video, he's about 35 or so. If any of us were to train that consistently for that amount of time, developing technique and building specific explosive strength around it, imagine where we would be. I think it's a cop-out to automatically go to, "Oh yeah, they're doping", not taking into account the amount of focused effort and hard work that goes into that type of training to perform at that level.
@AdarshRajCR7
@AdarshRajCR7 2 жыл бұрын
Look how much he's lifting right now. If he had made his Strength for 20 years it shouldn't have disappeared. Lu's barely squatting 180kg right now. Before he used to squat 270kgs no problem. These guys are really enhanced and on peds. They are drug on the day of competition. Weightlifting takes a huge toll on human body. You cannot do it for so many years consistently without the help of peds.

@jjj-qj8lu Жыл бұрын
@@AdarshRajCR7 steroids are mandatory for any type of strenght sport on elite levels but are certainly not the reason why these guys are the best in the world,it is more complicated than that. Nearly every athlete you see on iwf world championships is on ped's.Genetics and the training style is what makes one better than the other. Drugs can make anyone remarkably stronger nonetheless they cant make you the best without genetics,hard work and experience. That being said, Lu is almost 40. Not only is this insanely old for this kind of sport,but also he allegedly didnt train and take ped's for more than a year. The amount of strenght that he lost is normal.

@rc-bn2by
@rc-bn2by 3 жыл бұрын
I would guess maybe 2 days are enough for him to rest before the comp and maybe at his age he needs to keep that high training intensity consistent. Dirk novitsky for example once said that he cant take so long breaks or breaks at all after the basketball seasions like his other younger teammates because he wouldnt be able to get to his old performance level back.

@@rc-bn2by Good point, but considering that most olympic lifters rest a week or more before a big comp it just seems strange. Deadlifts especially are an extremely taxing exercise as a lot of the power generated from snatches and clean come from your deadlift strength. @sergiolera6426
@sergiolera6426 2 жыл бұрын
well, Olympic lifting is not about max strength. It's about being good in the Olympic lifts (snatch and clean&jerk) that require strength but also speed, explosiveness, coordination elasticity, and are very technical. There is no point in deadlifting 400kg if you cannot clean 200kg (for example). For Olympic lifters, exercises such as deadlift or squat are just conditioning exercises (usually done at the end of the training session).
@sergiolera6426
@sergiolera6426 2 жыл бұрын
Powerlifting is about being good in squat, bench, and deadlift (which are more basic and more dependant on max strength than the Olympic lifts) so for powerlifters lifting more weight in those exercises is their primary goal.
@sergiolera6426
@sergiolera6426 2 жыл бұрын
Strongman is about strength events like farmer's walk, pull a truck, lift stones, and so on, but they also usually have a max deadlift or a deadlift for reps event, so for them being good at deadlifting is also one of their primary goals (besides the deadlift is probably the "gym exercises" with more carryover to the strongman events).

you clearly don’t understand what it’s used for. they’re not hopping into an ice bath after every session, Lu is icing he’s knees because he has to train tomorrow, the day after that and the day after that. In the grand scheme of the sport, Lu is pretty old for still competing at the very top, he’s body (and namely his knees) have taken a massive toll. If he doesn’t ice his knees he simply will not be able to train like he is due to the pain and inflammation.
