This professional “mourner” thing was a bigger trend a few decades ago, according to my grandmother. They were supposed to cry in order to encourage others to cry too 👁👄👁 the manipulation of it all, i want at least three at my funeral

Honestly this makes sense, I have absolutely been embarrassed to show I'm mourning, even telling people my girlfriend passed away I was very nervous to show emotion. Makes it less awkward if others are showing a lot of emotion too, just get it all out so you can process it. I used to work at a funeral home and while I never saw a funeral with pro mourners I have heard about it and apparently it did help things go smoother and be less tense.

yeah, i did a report on his biography when i was in the 4th grade! he was a truly amazing person. my favorite detail about his funeral is he asked for everyone to wear colors instead of black, so the seating arrangements would make a rainbow. he was truly one of a kind, and his odd and kooky brand of bringing joy to people will live on forever. he was dedicated to loving, teaching, singing with, and scaring the absolute shit out of his audience. RIP legend.

I’m so glad to see someone else talking about this!! Jim Henson has been my biggest inspiration, and I was only able to finally sit down and watch his funeral a couple months ago. It was rough and I did end up sobbing like a baby, but it was absolutely beautiful! I’m sad that Richard Hunt, Jerry Nelson, and other Muppet performers who have since left us didn’t get anything similar :(

Cremation is very bad for the environment, please consider checking out aquamation & other green methods like making yourself into a tree. My exe’s grandfather used to love Pringles and before he passed, he asked for his ashes to be put in sour cream Pringle cans so they did just that. A ton of the family members also wore Pringles socks to the funeral. If that’s what they want, that’s what they want. Funerals are already super depressing and it’s a celebration of THEIR life. I grew up in a white Presbyterian church in a northern state where funerals were a solemn event but with a sense of celebrating life as well, so this is rather jarring to me but I've heard other cultures really do have a party-like funeral so I think it is just an upbringing thing. From these clips it appears they were respectful towards the body and honestly I think they were still honoring the person highly because they put so much effort into having a funeral that the person would have loved and appreciated, which may be the most tragic thing about this, the person didn't get to enjoy the people dressed as breakfast food or the BBQ fountain! Loved your reactions Lucas, you find the most entertaining things on the interned lol. If you ever make a part two to this I would love to see what other things this funeral home came up with!
