Ive been on keto since July 2021 and I've lost 75lbs. Highest was 360lbs. I am thinking about weight lifting and still being keto. This was great information

Bodybuilding with Keto has been around for years. Vince Gironda reknowned bodybuilder of the 40's and after used them to get low body fat. Later bodybuilders and weight gain nutritionists used it or a variation with carb cycling days such as Mauro Dipasquale.
@plantagenant4 жыл бұрын
@Dr.s Saeed All interesting. Of course, DiPasquale approach, Keto with carb loading weekends, is also tied around manipulation of endogenous anabolic hormones...with GH and Testosterone elevated when Insulin is down and vice versa...so it's not simply a question of ketones as fuel or just manipulating insulin. I'm no expert though...I bow to others who know more than me.

I started sipping salt water in the morning, adding more salt to my meals and drinking a potassium and sodium drink at night and I feel awesome in the gym when strength training.

Try the following pre workout for pure strength : 5g of creatine monohydrate with a pinch of Himalayan salt, thank me later
@stephanienewton66183 жыл бұрын
Yes! I notice when I need electrolytes it makes me feel a little hungry. I drink some Himalayan salt and I feel satiated again! I’ve been upping my strength training on keto. The one thing I’ve noticed is that I’m exhausted but I’m NOT extra hungry like I was when I was depending on glucose for energy and increasing my exercise. That’s interesting. I guess my body is using fat? Hope it’s not using muscle for energy 🤔

@HuskyOps good to know! I do use supplements and find they help with recovery. I’m 47, I don’t remember recovery taking this long when I was younger lol

For example last night I was so drained I felt almost like I was getting sick. I took a high powered multi and some carnitine/coq10/electrolytes and within an hour felt sooo much stronger.

80 to 100 grams a day.. is that the actual weight of meat.. or grams within the meat to reach of protein per day?? Another keto youtuber says to have about 200grams of actual meat per day, and that too much protein can spike insulin thus kicking you out of ketosis. Thoughts/suggestions?
@bullm76423 жыл бұрын
Grams of protien with in the meat ...and yeah too much protien can kick you out of keto but it depends on age and size as well if you are 18 or 20 you can eat a bit more then 100g or if you are a big person but if not just stay around 100g a day and do more research

@ninadpradhan65663 жыл бұрын
@HuskyOps true but you dont claim you started keto 20 years ago around age 15, keto can be good to solve issues etc etc, but now its common knowledge that high carb training isnt health long term, so these ppl want to capitalize and use marketing gimmick like they did it for 20 years ago... 20 years I know myself for a fact that smaller meals, low fat and high protein was what everyone did off season and on season cut carb but they didnt increase fat to go ketogenic, barring some like Vince G, also atkins wasnt really something bodybuilding community did very much.. So I 100% believe this clown is full of BS.

@mikafoxx27179 ай бұрын
@@kanejacobdo you KNOW? What part of the bacon is carcinogenic? The cooking of it? Nitrates seem to have beneficial properties as well for blood pressure as well as being an antioxidant, so I dont really buy it unless they tell you what part is carcinogenic. If they just did surveys and found that people that ate more bacon got more cancer, thats probably because most health conscious people dont eat much bacon..

The body struggles big time when it doesn't have sugar and you're exercising. Learned that when I suddenly ate carbs and suddenly I just couldn't feel tired doing exercise. Apparently your body needs to be much more efficient to grow strenght without sugar.
@Jamiep199013 жыл бұрын
Thats because you're body is used to using sugar for fuel and you need to give your body time to become fat adapted.

I have been in optimal nutritional ketosis, blood testing often and always within 1.5 -2.6 ketone blood level.. I used to be able to lift heavy with many reps and a lot of results.. PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND, why am i unable to lift the weight i need to or used to without starting STRONG and very quickly losing strength during the sets and almost muscle giving out at the later reps in the sets.. BEFORE KETO was able to do heavy sets w many reps. WHAT IS GOING ON ? And how can i correct this issue to have more explosive and longer strength in the gym during diff muscle workouts ?
@sofienabidi72422 жыл бұрын
Hi...the problem here is not because you switched from pre-keto to Keto....maybe you are thinking that when you used to use more carbs for fuel your performance was better....well this is not true...you are not lifting as before because of 2 reasons...1st you maybe not eating enough calories so you need to eat enough to perform well...not necessarily from carbs....you need enough healthy fats, enough protein....2nd, metabilizing fat for energy takes a bit of time to work well after years of carbs based fueling...your body needs some time to get used to using healthy and stored fats for energy...so be patient and keep going....best of luck
