Are you even a real analyst? Steph is not putting up like Luka's number 40+ pts because Curry and warriors never care about individual stat padding. They move the ball constantly and with Curry the leader himself never gets tired to move around off the ball then that shows you that the entire team is determined to it as well. In result, curry had moments, thompson had moments, kevon, Wiggins and Poole all had moments every other game. So I am asking you now, is this team a single sport or team sport? Why did you expect Curry should get the points up to your stupid "40 - 60 pts" standard to be considered great? Right now there is non out of all superstar who shares the ball and move off the ball to prioritized team offense, only Curry! That being said, he is greater than all other superstar.

Cmon man, he was coming off the bench and playing starter minutes. I agree with Steph being great but I do need to stop you there on the "off the bench" comment. He played under 30 minutes in just Games 1 and 2 of the Denver series and he played terribly in one and great in the other. Then he went on to play over 30 or over 35 minutes in the final 3 games of the series. So you're really embellishing the "off the bench" thing. Another thing that's important to note is that he's getting those rebounds because the Mavs aren't hitting anything and they're (aside from Brunson and Luka) settling for deep shots and missing. That leads to Steph just running down balls. It's not like he's jumping in there fighting big men for the ball. Hats off for his 10+ assists in game 3 but the rest you are exaggerating a bit lol.

What? No one is knocking Steph. Steph has been good, not great, by his standards. By average NBA player standards he's been great because he's a great player, but that's not the standard Steph is measured against. Steph is doing what he's expected to do- be great by average NBA player standards. He's not having an all-time series, which would be great by his/superstar standards. The difference has been Wiggins and Looney being better than expected. It's that and the rest of the Mavs outside Luka being bad (which isn't entirely unexpected). Luca has been bad defensively. Not because he isn’t capable, but because he spends so much energy at the offensive end. Warriors making things difficult for him offensively is something the Suns couldn’t do and it’s exposing Luca defensively because he’s so tired.

Typical comment from someone who just looks at stat sheets. When you actually watch these games, you see Luka is the superior player but he's facing the better team. If you put Steph on the Mavs and Luka on the Warriors, this series would be ever more lopsided given that Steph needs constant screens and ball movement to be great. Luka doesn't need any of that due to his size.

Steph’s passes off double teams are extra passed by Daymond. Luka passes come off from last second failed drives to the basket ala westbrook. Where teammates have 2 seconds to throw in a 3. Curry extra pass assists don’t add to your stats. Hence why players also don’t move off the ball like curry, cause they also don’t show. Curry’s defense involves pushing the attacker towards another defender. Curry has been the best player.
@majkibr2 жыл бұрын
Now if you would play attention watching the game, Luka always pull the looks of whole team, and the passes are wide open. And 2 or 3 seconds to make a shot is far enough. You can also see the wide open pass with 10 seconds left on the clock. And for example bullock shot right away. Same is with kleber. And it's not secret that mavs game plan I to drain the clock all the way. They playing like that whole season.
@mrmillennium26972 жыл бұрын
@Shock he's right his waiting til the shot clock is gonna cause a double team by the defense and it doesn't make it a smart play once you consider offensive rebounding is not in their favor unless the three misses and bounces back out and teams no what they're gonna do "Jack up a three." Luka Brunson and Dinwiddie can create their own shot but the rest of the bunch is dependent on someone else to get a bucket. Roster is trash really but the 3 they have getting buckets have got them this far and Jason Kidd.
@dontayedaniels57102 жыл бұрын
@@majkibr 2 or 3 seconds is not enough time to get a shot off especially if the defender closes out well. The shooters only option is to jack up a shot. Ofc your missing with that much pressure on top of the pressure of the fans going against a championship caliber team and all time great player like Steph.
@THE_BEAR_JEW2 жыл бұрын
Now I know you aren't watching the games. Him and Brunson are getting the ball to teammates with like 10 seconds left a lot of the time, on both cuts and spot up shots, they're just not hitting the shots. This narrative that Luka is running the clock down to 1 second is just silly. Also you cannot compare him to Westbrook. By doing that, you're truly just hating. Curry makes the extra pass because he needs to. His bread and butter is coming off screens and getting a mismatch. When he has to shoot off the dribble, he tends to wear down fast and become exponentially less efficient due to his small size. It's not that he's being charitable or something, it's just how his game works and the Warriors system. It's just silly to type what you're typing. It's like you're oblivious to gameplans, offensive schemes, player types, team makeup, etc.

Doncic should play more like Curry, distributing the ball and playmaking more. The problem playing like Harden is it's not a team-style play, therefore Luka can only have the ball and play good, or score high. He needs another superstar. He needs a Pippen. Everyone keeps saying “the Mavericks need to stop depending on Luka so much and move the ball”. Luka ain’t scoring the most cuz he wants to…it’s because he’s the only one able to score. He wouldn’t be scoring 40+ points per game if others stepped up.
@matthewsinc.97232 жыл бұрын
That would be a good point about Luka Doncic if he wasn’t getting 25 of those 40 points in the first half. Luca doesn’t become offensive minded because his guys aren’t scoring that’s just who he is every night he just happens to shoot a ton more on top of the ton he already shoots when they’re not hitting shots and they’re probably not hitting shots because they can’t get in the rhythm because he’s taking all of . Luca is a extraordinary player but I believe his style of play does not help his team get better
@corey22322 жыл бұрын
I called this exact thing happening when Nick predicted Mavs in 5. Luka is great, but *EXPECTING* the rest to show up like they did in game 7 in Phoenix is a huge mistake. Dinwiddie has been pretty bad MOST of the playoffs, Brunson is a reluctant shooter, Kleber/DFS/Bertans aren't going to hit all those 3's consistently, etc. I'm a Mavs fan, but to pin any of this on Luka is absurd. The team needs him to soak up attention & get those good looks, but their shots aren't falling.

That will tell you how good he is in the clutch and playoffs

Idk why we are surprised this is probably gonna be a sweep. The Mavs are great but the Warriors core has been together for 10 years. When you have that, you are able to operate on a level no other teams can. The Grizz were the team best equipped to take on Golden State but they made huge mistakes in their series to let that one slip. Memphis was the best team in the way. The Mavs are here but realistically they are 2 seasons ahead of their time. They need a little more time together and some more pieces. Right now they're ill-equipped and they were able to hide a lot of those flaws because of Luka but eventually you do hit a wall.
