Now I feel old. I was 6 years old *and one day* when the original Macintosh came out. I have to keep reminding myself that old Macs used Motorola 68K processors for *less* time than they ended up using either PowerPC or Intel ones. I never had one, though, and only ever used 68K Macs a couple of times at school - in the UK they were not as common as PCs in education. I did have a Commodore Amiga, which used the same CPU, but everything else about it was different. I recently bought a PowerBook G4 and I love it, though even with TenFourFox it is *no* use for browsing the web.

My first Mac was an Apple IIc in 1984! I was 9 at the time, and I was the one that set it all up! Mom Mom and Dad were floored. Cute fact: My Mom and Dad always worked so hard to give us the things they thought we needed or wanted, but couldn't always do so, because they weren't independently wealthy. But, at a parent-teacher conference, my teach told my folks that I had an affinity for computers and recommended that, if it were doable, they get me an Apple computer. They got the computer, monitor, printer...I know there was more, but they got the whole setup. And I was in love. I have never purchased a non-Apple computer in my life, and I doubt I will at this point. Thanks for the bit of nostalgia, Luke 👏👏👏

Apple should never have done away with the intro video. it was one of the most unique things about a Mac, and honestly coming from windows at the time, the intro video made the whole experience, more memorable, and impactful. Also, fun fact it was around this time that I decided to get a Mac, and I went for this exact model. But when I got home, it was the first generation unibody. I was pleasantly surprised and looking back I realize how inexperienced and naïve I was because I just shrugged and rolled with it.

This video is 2 years old but I thought I'd comment on it anyway. A new old Mac would be a real trip to open. Glad I was able to see it. My first Mac was a 128K 9" Mac. I'm 76 and have been with Apple for ever. My first external hard drive was a Mac Bottom that was 5MB and cost $1,500. I got ir for a Fat Mac in around 1985 I think. I still have a Mac Charlie in the garage.

Try being me. My brain went down to trauma January 2010. So I missed all technology I had no idea, I wasn't connecting to the outside world. For years I was using a Toshiba laptop bought in 2009. Having no concept of the outside world for over a decade, you can't know the joy I experience buying old to you tech. Just bought a 2015 MacBook Pro. To me its amazing. I can buy old to you tech, as it is like amazing brand new tech to me :) I can't even begin to explain this to you. But its quite amazing. I get old to you tech, that is light years ahead of old 2009 things I was using.

I love your videos and this one was special for me, too. I remember opening the box of my 2007 mbp 17”, it was my first Mac laptop. I still have it and the box and remote... this computer has saved me when the graphics card died on my iMac. It’s slow and I’ve actually been wanting to ask about what updates I could do to it. I’ve gone though many batteries...I upped the ram and a larger 720 hard drive that’s pretty full but, I’ve been thinking the only thing I could do is replace it with an SSD. I investigated that ssd port on the side but I’m not sure if I’m finding the right product for that. Any opinion is welcome.
