The bit of the canal I fished was free as is most of the Grand Union as its National Trust Property , but there are some club owned stretches .

Hey man luv your videos, im 17 and your vidoes have got me into fishing, mainly saltwater i was wondering if you could help me i saw you video on lure fishing for bass on the river arun and now i really wanna catch bass on a lure but i dont know if i need a rod licence to fish that bit of the river arun could you please help me out cuz i do maily saltwater fishing i dont really understand much about rod licenes could i also get some tips on lure fishing for bass cuz tried a buch around sussex and havent caught anything and really doing my head in. Hopefully u you can help stay safe and keep making videos cuz i love em

Hiya buddy thanks for your lovely comments - it really means a lot knowing i'm helping out a bit. Fishing licences are NOT REQUIRED on rivers up to there demarcation line - on the Arun it is the Old Town Bridge in the middle of Arundel , so anywhere from there to the sea a licence is NOT required . There are also the same lines on the Adur in Shoreham - think its the bridge at the old cement works and on the Ouse at Newhaven I think its the bridge for the A27. This time of year is not really the best for Bass lure fishing up the rivers as they are few and far between and the water is cold . We tend to start feeling around again when it starts warming up around March / April. Hope this helps and good luck with your future fishing. ATB Marc 👍
