Everyone isn't equipped to see the flags. First, the person must have either experienced the behaivor at some point in their life and recognize it as a red flag or have demonstrated it themselves and overcame it. Second, some people have to be told it's toxic behavior and decide to accept it as such, but not everyone see a red flag as a red flag.
