clicks and subscribed from Sweden. Found your vlog today and enjoy it. I'm raised on a oiltanker more or less cause my father was captain and the sea will forever be important even though i hated being sea sick all time haha. Now when i'm grown up i rather watch vlogs at sea:) I was always with the chief and helped with the food,'' well sat and watched him sliding through the floor on the shaky boat.

@@OliveOilandGasoline Yes everybody say the same when i say i lived on a ship around the world since i was 2-16 in long periods but as a child it was traumatic cause i was so seasick and my playground was like a prison, my toys was to catch fishes, painting the boat,annoyed the sea men to play card haha. Well i'm blessed with that i seen many countrys but it's way to much waves and endless sea. You know what i mean when you was on atlantic. to much time. Now i'm a grown woman and the good thing is that i feel home everywere i'm cause my child hood made me to bored to stay to long in same area haha. I will enjoy to follow your channel and i can imagine this long hours cooking is rough. Stress and lack of sleep but i saw how much you enjoy your work and i smiled all time.

Do the heads still work on each yacht? It might be a long midnight scramble from your bunk to the carrier ship's house to hit the head. What were your duties to your employer during the journey? I noticed you did some washing down for the salt spray presumably but aside from tidying up after yourself, what are you expected to do for the yacht? Are you a basic watchman for the crossing? I would have liked to see what damage occurred to the hull from resting on the deck blocks and supports during rough seas. I saw another of these where they welded them in place for the duration. Thanks.
@OliveOilandGasoline4 ай бұрын
Yup, all the heads work on each yacht. Each boat was different. I was paid minimally because not much was needed from me. They just wanted to make sure the boat showed up clean and that was it. No damage from the chalks, boats go on them on the time in shipyards.

Is this a less expensive way for the yachts to do trans Atlantic?

It's pretty fascinating stuff. I assume the cost of doing this is cheaper than boating to the destination? How do they charge the price? Is it by length or weight of the boat? Like would a catamaran which is really wide cost the same as a boat that is longer but not as wide?
@OliveOilandGasoline5 ай бұрын
Yeah it's cheaper in the long run, you save on crew salaries, fuel, engine hours. For some of these boats the range needed across the Atlantic would be really challenging. I'm not sure how they bill it.
