Ingredients:
For dough
4 cups all purpose flour
4 tbsp shortening
4 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1 1/2 tbsp yeast
2 cups warm milk

I put 1 cup milk and 2 cups flour but dough was too soft and I had to put much more flour to be like in the video. I think proportion is important, to use the same cup, no matter what size the cup is? I googled and it says 1 cup milk is 250ml so since 1kg flour is 1892g it means 250ml flour is around 132g. So it doesn't matter if my cup is 250ml or 100ml, it's just important to take the same cup volume of flour?

Thank you for sharing your recipe. Your siopao really looks amazing. I was wondering how sweet does it end up? I wanted to try making a siopao but I don't want to put too much sugar in it so it doesn't appear to be too sweet.

Tina Fu Honestly speaking I never tried that.But the google said that made with yeast, baking powder and sugar and so on.You can experiment, you can add a bit of sugar baking powder and yeast.

I would wait 5 minutes before taking it out of the steamer. Let it rest before opening it.

After mo steam wag mo buksan agad, leave it for 5 minutes muna sa steamer na nakaoff ang fire.

I wait 5 minutes before taking it out of the steamer to allow the buns to relax. It won’t shrink if you do that.

I did it the way it is instructed... but after adding additional 1/2 cup flour my dough is still sticky.. i tried this recipe for 3x..but i cant get a nice consistency of dough.. can you please help..thank u

Me too😓. I used the liquid measuring cup for the milk and the standard measuring cup for the flour. I ended up adding 1 cup more flour but it was still so sticky...

Hi i just followed the recipe and turned out great.my flour had risen. Maybe check your yeast i read somewhere that u have to store it somewhere cold.mine i kept in the fridge.

Plain flour is all purpose flour. They are same. Diff countries called it with diff name.

Check your yeast baka expired orpag di umalsa ang yeast prepare ka ulit ng bagong yeast bago mo ituloy siopao para di masayang dough.

yung ingr ko is 1kilo apf 180 grms sugar 40 grams lard 12 grams salt 15 grams instant dry yeast 500ml water

@@moniquelim8998 hi, I'm also Monique but from The Netherlands. She gave us the right measurements. I looked up several recipes and most are ratio 1:2 if it is about the liquid and flour. I also failed with cups, so mostly try to convert in grams. Try 1/2 of the recipe and see from there on. I am going to do that too. Good luck this time...👍🏻

Hi! Ask ko lang po kung pwede din po siyang gawin ng walang mixer. Wala po kasing budget pambili ng mixer due to pandemic. Pwede po ba yun e knead lng yung dough gamit ng kamay at tagalan lang pag knead. Thanks🙂🙂

Matanong lang po ano po brand ng standmixer nyo? Di po ba madali masira ganyan na brand? Balak ko kasi bumili ng ganyan klasi na mixer.

She's using Kitchenaid, it is a very high end brand & for me the best kitchen aid there is. It is expensive but worth every money you spend. It will last you a lifetime if you look after it. They've been in the business since 1919.

Venus Joy do not use hot milk, lukewarm lang, if it’s too hot it will kill the yeast

Samy37 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup warm milk, 1 tbsp shortening or oil, 1 tbsp sugar, 1/2 tsp yeast, 1/2 tsp baking powder you can try this measurements kapag medyo wet pa ang dough dagdag lang ng paisaisang spoon flour para hindi sumobra o tumigas ang dough.

Check your yeast kailngan warm yung milk or water hindi masyadong mainit.at baka mamatay ang yeast at hindi expired.

Maybe your milk was too hot when you added the yeast and you killed it. Or your dough could have been too dry.

4cups of water or milk should be 5cups of flour..otherwise its so sticky to knead.

Mam,pahelp naman po,bakit po ndi nageelastic yung dough kahit ang tagal ko ng minamasa?pero malambot po cia mam,pls. Po help,may order pa nmn ako bukas,yung recipe mo po ginamit ko. Yung sa shortening,oil po ginamit ko then ang tbsp po nia is yung ginawa mo po s lard.

ach_ chelle paalsahin mo lang ng 2 beses at kapag 2 beses na pinaalsa at malambot masyado i knead mo lang uli sa konting flour sa flat surface.hindi dapat dry or sobrang lambot

After steaming dont open the lid or cover. Wait 5 minutes after cooking before removing the lid to prevent collapsing the siopao.
