Overview No More Innocence is a Japanese spirit that feeds on his targets childhood love for the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise, turning it into a serious addiction and necessity to keep playing with the bootleg copy that he resides in. He's a separate entity from Sonic, being more similar to an employee using a Sonic costume to promote the character and franchise as opposed to a possession. He's permanently covered in pitch black shadows, with white highlights on his black quills behaving the same way, these don't act on changes with the environments lighting and will remain in the same exact spots. His lifeless expression only changes when his emotions are way too intense, contorting itself the more he loses composure (examples being genuine pleasure, laughter or frustration) he behaves calm and subtly. while he appears to be really cocky and over confident he keeps to himself a lot and communicates through text a lot of the time. Biography Around a week after the release of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 in Japan, there were different reports surrounding nameless Sega Genesis cartridges containing mediocre imitations of the game which were found to be advertised as nothing but "The New Sonic The Hedgehog Experience". These reports all tended to focus on the many ailments children in possession of these copies were showing-such as very intense headaches, decreasing eyesight and nausea- with a couple of these cases also mentioning their kids not being able to properly walk or keep themselves standing up after 1-2 weeks of playing with the copy. However, for quite some time there was a police department in Scottsdale, Arizona who were making steady progress finding the roots to the case; having one of the officer's kids suffering from the bootleg's effects. As all the attention was starting to be drifted towards the group in Scottsdale, more and more of other cases were starting to be less prominent; diving into obscurity, as if they were being forgotten. With information on every case being swept under the rug like this, it was ruthless for the team at Scottsdale to keep following this tactic. And it proved to not be so rewarding once the case seemingly stopped, with not a single update from the team after. It's speculated that it ended once the lead man, father of the ill kid, quit his position after running into a dead end; being received with nothing but his child in a hospital bed. With all of this, it is fascinating how these series of tragedies have, apparently, lost steam. With any of the more recent reports being left overs from previous events; however, strange activities surrounding SEGA have been noticed, as there's been posters hung up near the area claiming there's an individual lying about their position in the company; stating that this isn't a real person. Abilities & Weakness Abilities - Behaves similarly to a poltergeist, being able to move objects from outside the TV as well as different actions of the same vein, such as closing doors. - He is able to morph his face into a more human-like appearance. This gives the victim an overwhelming sense of security, making them feel safe and as if he is someone they’ve grown familiar with. Using this, he is able to lure them in. - He whispers to his victims either as they play or, in most cases, when they're distracted and/or are starting to doubt the time they're spending with the game. These whispers are usually used to manipulate the victim with different reasons as to why it's better to cave into this form of escapism more than they already are. - He can control the intensity of the symptoms his targets experience, which can easily get them hospitalized. As well as making these effects occur when looking at him directly. - He can create hallucinations and illusions, which grow stronger the closer the individual is to NMI's presence. - Can make himself completely intangible. - Is able to manifest himself in newspapers, phone calls and TV ads, of course, showing some limitations in movement and speech compared to his usual self. - If able to get a big enough reach into people's psyche (result of the bootleg being sold as much as the licensed copies), he can manifest into the real world with a human identity and disguise, forcing himself into public consciousness as a SEGA game developer. As if he'd been there from the start. Weaknesses - While he can make himself intangible, due to his own cocky and overconfident nature, he can be caught off guard and potentially harmed in the case he leans out of the TV screen. - Victims can and will most likely recover from the symptoms, they'll suffer from different sequels that will make lots of daily routines difficult but the main threats will fade, this being a result of NMI just finding much more amusement on the long run rather than an abrupt death. - He can be caught in pictures, this being much more prominent with his Skin Suit. - The skin suit is quite flawed, as a result of NMI Being impatient and forcing it's creation. This having different consequences such as it's freakish appearance, which he has to manually hide with illusions of his own. Along with this, since he didn't take the time to carefully create this identity, he's simply known as "Makoto" without having the rest of a proper name. - Without the bootlegs prospering, he wouldn't have anything to feed on, this being a possible end to him. - If seen while the identity of his Skin Suit is still not finished, then the individual won't be affected by it and will be aware that this isn't a real person. Trivia NMI doesn't have any desire to murder his victims, anything that happens to them afterwards won't be his doing. The red background usually seen in his Illustrations is an unfinished zone where the bootleg abruptly ends at, simply named "Zone 3". He is very arrogant and somewhat flamboyant. His insides are completely black, with his "blood" resembling gasoline. He grows a liking for the Sonic franchise the more he involves himself with it, mainly during his Skin Suit era. NMI doesn't experience sexual or romantic attraction. Grey palm trees are somewhat consistent parts of his imagery. Has a liking for repeating things an overwhelming number of times. The only time he makes any sort of audible noise outside of his whispering and occasional belittling is with his chuckles, along with displaying "笑" on screen numerous times. Would have a distaste for any of the more bruised and marked .exe's, seeing it as an insult to the Sonic franchise. He thinks the concept of eating and anything that involves it is gross. Dislikes the idea of calling himself god or being seen as one despite how full of himself he is, he just thinks he's a bit more clever than most. NMI has shown his real face to a small number of people while using the Skin Suit, knowing pretty well they won't be able to explain what happened. He finds it fun. without his illusions, the Skin Suit's real head is quite flat, resembling a mask. But it can distort itself and morph due to its unfinished state.
