The hero and villain were best friends going up but when they became adults, the grew apart. Hero got more friends and grew popular while villain was left in the dust. Villain was so angry and broken Abe began to gain attention in the wrong way. They would do bad stuff just to see Hero a little bit each day. Hero didn’t understand why Villain became so spiteful towards them and tried to talk. Villain let out all of their hurt, their betrayal, their rage, and their depression onto Hero...and Hero...Hero finally understood...but it was too late

Can I just say that the comments under this video are so interesting yet sad? I know a lot of people here probably use this song to cope or enjoy the idea of how you imagine the story going on, which is very much valid and take my wording and response with a grain of salt, but isn't it weird how we know nothing about what happened between these two characters besides their emotionally fueled responses between each other, but people only think one of them is in the right? Personally, I think both of them are in the right and wrong. We don't know what the hero did, we don't know what the villain did, all we know is that one wants to help and the other doesn't want it. One wants to understand and the other feels betrayed in someway. We can't blame either of them for what might have happened, because we don't know the situation and really it's probably more complex the idea of, "The villain being the hero and the hero being the villain”. Here’s how I interpret the story: The villain is a fallen hero or redeemed villain turned fallen hero. With the heavy idea of betrayal and the specification of “they hurt you”, it sounds like the villain was betrayed by a group of heroes the hero and villain works/ed with. Now the hero’s trying to make up with the hurt villain while the villain assumes the hero was in on the betrayal - the hero very well may be. It sounds like the hero also believes in the villain and on someway also failed the villain, while the villain has given up on themselves and sees everyone as another “hero” who will eventually give up on them or a villain like them.

We all know the hero's at fault here, and it's the hero is the reason the villain is the way they are right now, but think of it this way. The hero made a mistake. They messed up big time. And the villain has all the right to be mad and give in to their dark desires, even if it's slowly killing them. But at least the hero's trying. At least the hero is _trying_ to save the villain. But the villain doesn't want to be saved, and so the hero comes off the wrong way and messes up things even further. And when the villain finally gives up and falls off the deep end, the hero blames themself for being so helpless, for not being strong enough to save them. Not being strong enough to save their friend.
@idontknow8983 жыл бұрын
We actually don't really know if the hero’s at fault. My personal theory is that the hero and villain were close as children. The villain was hurting for some unknown reason, and the hero couldn't help them, and the villain blames the hero even though the hero was just a child, too. The hero feels guilty, but people feel guilty for things that aren't their fault all of the time.
@cr0wca1l3 жыл бұрын
@@idontknow898There's a million ways to look at the storyline since the information we got was so broad. But yeah, it could really go either way. Either the hero's at fault and is victimizing themselves, or the villain blames the hero for everything they did to themselves.

@idontknow8983 жыл бұрын
@@keeva6530 yes, but I think it's important to remember that the hero does feel guilty about something and seems to mentally be in better place than the villain. So to me if the hero feels guilty but doesn't think it's their fault, then it seems more likely that other people did do the villain wrong, and maybe the hero didn't/couldn’t interfere. So the villain is upset and the hero feels guilty, but the hero also realizes that while they wish that they could have done more, they are not the one who tried to hurt the villain. I think the lyrics scream of “you didn't save me”, not “you tried to hurt me”, so I think that the hero was a bystander in whatever situation the villain was in, or maybe even did try to help the villain but the villain didn't think it was enough.

H = hero V = villain I think V mesmerized when they kept talking and being sarcastic toward H but then realized what happened in their life when H started to say you once held my hand. V froze before pushing H away, eyes darken with despair and loneliness. "Stand up, get out. Sometimes things don't go as planned." "But-" "I said get out!" V pushed the concerned hero. They turned their back from H. "V..." No answer. "Please remember that." "Please stop, " V muttered quietly. So quiet that even V can't hear it clear "I'll always love you, " H turned their back as tears started to form at the corner of their eyes. Upon seeing the hero leave the room, v fell to their knees. "Why?" "Why? Why? Why? Why..." "WHY YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE THIS?!" Without stopping, they punched their chest. The pain is so unbearable v can't stop moaning. Tears escaping v eyes like a river escaping a damn. "I don't miss you! I don't want you here! I don't want you to talk to me!" Memories kept entering their mind. Hugging, smiling, laughing, teasing, kissing. It doesn't want to leave their mind. The villain's hand kept rummaged through their hair. The memories kept teasing them. Those memories that they wished never exist. No... It's not that those memories don't want to leave. Maybe v doesn't want them to leave at all A sad voice echoed in the room while clouds still pouring its tears for v, feeling sympathy for the supposed antagonist. "You once held my hand, " the villain muttered the painful words before smiling weakly. "I love you too." Okay now I need this story from the hero perspective

I feel like a lot of the people in the comment section who just realized everything isn't as it seems, so they side with the "underdog", in this case the villain, forgetting that the hero has his own story as well.
@willowloope45523 жыл бұрын
In the original, the title says "hero n villain duet but who's who?". So just imagine this but the hero sings the villain lines and the villain sings the hero lines. Edit: Thank you all for the likes! Have a great day! Edit II: I just realized the lyrics 'you think you're a hero?' hit so much harder when the roles are reversed.

If I had to choose, I’d be a villain. Then I wouldn’t have to keep baring the same guilt I’ve had for my whole life. “You’re perfect with your perfect life.”

I walked through the cold, dark hallway alone. The frigid air bit at my fingers like ice, but I was numb to it by now. I was used to the dark, and the cold, it was all I knew. And then I heard her voice. It rang clear through the hall and through my mind like the tip of a poison coated arrow. The warmth in her voice sent a pang in my chest and I stopped to hear her. “What are you doing, dear?” she asked, she sounded exactly like I remembered. Kind, full of hope, sweet like the first bite of fruit on a warm summer's day. “Aren’t you tired?” Of course I was tired. Anyone would be exhausted if they had to live day after day with the hate and anger and sadness weighing down on my heart. And it was her fault. I swiftly turned to face her and almost fell to my knees at the sight of her dazzling brown eyes and bright smile. “What are you doing here? I don't think that you were invited.” Suddenly the thought of her sparked more anger than it had ever before as I bit back the scream threatening to emerge from my throat. “Here you go again, pretending like you love me. When just beneath the surface, you’re convinced that you’re above me.” She took a few steps towards me and everything around us faded away until we were standing under the stars again, the night she made that promise. The one she would inevitably break. But we were young again, thrown into that memory. She looked up at me with a childish grin and gestured around us. “Dig deep into the past, I’ve never been one for doing things half-assed. If I’m here to save you I’ll be here forever. Just take my hand, I’ll be your knight in shining armor.” I shook my head and laughed, falling back a few steps and our surroundings bled back into that dark hallway. “You think you’re a hero? And they’ll tell you you are. So stoic and pretty, and you’ve come so far.” She shook her head, a pleading look in her eyes, begging me to understand, but I was too far gone, too far beyond understanding. “You think you’re a villain,” she grabbed my hand and I flinched at her touch. It felt so real. “but I know you’re not.” She smiled at me and I almost wanted to believe her. “Under all that angst and anger is-” “A dying broken heart!” “A beating human heart..” I ripped my hand away from hers and got ready to strike her, but I couldn't. I lowered my hand and looked into her eyes. She wasn't seeing anything she did wrong. “Hey, What about the lonely little boys?” She left me and my brother years ago. Her eyes grew wide with recognition. “I’m sorry.” It wasn’t enough. “What about the monsters who prevail?” “I’m sorry.” “You never came to save my world. What about me?” “What about us?” Us ended the day she left. She reached for me and I pulled away. She looked up at me, again, frantic eyes searching for any hint of understanding. “I recognize that you’re upset, I know they did you wrong.” I shook my head. “Oh, you know nothing of me.” “Trust me, please believe me, this won’t stop the hurt for long.” I didn't care. It didn't matter. I just wanted to end it all. Yet she continued. “We don’t need to end like this, look me in the eyes!” “Here comes the hero complex. I know I’m the villain,” “You call yourself a villain, but we know it’s a disguise.” “But you’re the one who lies.” I saw the tears threatening to fall from her eyes, but it only reinforced the anger in my heart. “So, you’re back at it again, twisting and manipulating every word I’ve said.” “Come on, you know that’s not true. I’m just trying to help you, let me help you!” I didn't want her help, I didn't need it. Her words were just meant to poison me further, I can't trust someone who took my heart and shattered it across the floor. “You are not my hero. You don't know how it felt.” My words were a whisper against the raging sea of emotions beneath my heart. I looked down to the floor as my tears fell against the marble tiles. “What else could you do with the cards that I’ve been dealt?” “You are not the villain,” I wish I could believe her. But I had learned from my mistakes long ago, trust and love only gets you hurt. “You once held my hand.” I still couldn't look at her. The pain I felt was beyond words, beyond explaining, beyond belief. “Stand up. Get out. Sometimes things don’t go as planned.” And after a few moments, when I finally gained the courage to look up she was gone. And I was alone again.

A little image I made: So everyone keeps saying that the two might have been friends or lovers but here's my story of this song. Two siblings, one supported and loved by their parents and the other out shown and forgotten. The 'hero' and 'villain' were very close but after time, they drifted away because of their parents and media and stuff. The parents would praise the 'hero' but whatever the other one did, they wouldn't pay attention or they would criticize everything they did. When the 'villain' finally has had enough, they ran away but the people thought that they were plotting something or causing havoc. The 'villain' finally gave the people what they wanted, a bad guy. When the 'hero' realizes that the 'villain' was actually their sibling, they realized what they and their parents did to them all their life so the 'hero' tries to 'save' them, but the 'villain' doesn't want to hear it, thinking that they can't change because of what the people made them to be. When they fight, they have a big argument of what has happened in the past years and the 'hero' tries to apologize. The 'hero' makes the 'bad guy' takes their words to heart, on how they don't need to be like this and beneath the 'villain' complex is a broken human being that's just needs someone to be there for them. The 'villain' stays silent for a few moments thinking that they could actual go back to what they were before, before their parents and the people until they remember what they have done and the 'villain' doesn't think they can change. The 'villain' tells the 'hero' to leave and go, not wanting to hurt their sibling from what they've done, trying to cover it up like they don't want the 'hero' to ruin their plans.
