Another tip to minimize binding on the collar threads is to put a bit of anti-sieze on them. I put a dab on the threads that are only in contact with the collar (what you can't see), not the exposed threads, to keep the mess down on the exposed threads. Although, it is a bit easier to do it when first installing the MP-HAS. Oh yeah, the slight fender massaging is a must when going to the wide tire setup you have. I did the same on the front fender liners on my F80. A heat gun and a hammer (to mold the fender liner) is your friend. Just don't get overzealous with the heat gun as things can get mushy pretty quick......

Hi. Let me tell you that the corner balancing shoulg made by trained professionals using scales. It is possible to achive a good balancing Though. For the best results you should first disconnect the swaybar. They will affect the weight distribution. Also to get the correct height you shoul put something to match you weight in the driver seat. Said so considering springs aren't linear you can easilly understand why the thread counts doesn't match. This is also why you need scales. what you want to achieve is simply weight on the front left tire + weight on the rear right tire must be equal to the weight on the front right tire to the weight on the rear left tire. this is for a bestter car stability.

The threads dont match because the weight of the car is not evenly distributed throughout the car. Like if you have a full tank of gas, the side where the tank is will lower the car slightly more.

On the black frame cross support. Never on the rear diff - because you can bend the cooling fins. Or invest in a set of Jackpoint Jack stands. Pricey - but eliminates that problem.

Hey Tommy, as always great vids and keep up the good work. I had one suggestion. Since you track your car on occasion you should consider going to a suspension shop that can corner balance your car. The static balance is good for the eye but the suspension may not actually be balanced. Check out corner balancing vids and you’ll have a better idea of what I’m talking about. When I set up my M2 with coil overs that’s the way I went. If you just use spring alone you wouldn’t have this option. Great advantage of coil overs that most people don’t realize. They just adjust for looks not handling.
@TommyLGarage4 жыл бұрын

For that height difference I would blame framer used in production for geometry of side panels. Just an idea on the comment you made about the rear springs thread count vs measurement difference, maybe it’s because the fuel tank sits on the right and adds a bit more weight on that side so you have to loosen them slightly to create the balance? I’ve often noticed the same imbalance on my F30 and that’s the only hypothesis that makes sense. Hope that helps (somewhat!). Nonetheless, a great video dude!
