This came out in 1979 (I was starting high school) and it went to #1 on the charts in the US and all over the world. It was a good foreshadow of 80s music and 80s style. It was a fun song to dance to and it filled the dance floors. There isn't much to make of it, it's just a fun song for fun's sake. It made everyone smile.

1979, I was 12. I think I even bought the 45. It was definitely played at the skating rink. Fun nostalgic feels with this one.

It may have been an early play on MTV, but the first video was "Video Killed the Radio Star"

It certainly was late-70’s/early-80’s disco-esque /new wave-esque sound that you could dance to in the clubs or looked forward to seeing what it looked like on MTV when it was new.

It was popular around 1979/1980-ish... my P.E. teacher assigned us girls to design & each lead the class in an original 5-minute aerobic jazzercise as our Final, & this was my song! So every time I hear it, I do the moves! Can't remember it all precisely, but close enough 😂

First heard this on AM radio when New Wave was the new wave 😊 It was just a fun song. It had some holding power as it was one of the first videos I saw on MTV.

The Europeans were far ahead of the US when it came to music videos. The Second British Invasion is thanks to their music already having video. They played with various themes & some were just for the fun of it. This is a prime example.

I was 20+ years old when I stumbled across this song born in the late 90’s 27 now this song is just catchy af and how he delivers the lyrics just stood out as well as the melody made it an ear worm song for me

My P.E. Teacher made us design & lead the class in an aerobic jazzercize 🤣 So to this day I don't dance to it, I flail around doin high stepping 20 min workout stuff whenever I hear it...😂 Believe you me, it's a crazy sight all these years later!!!
