A long time ago in far far place next to the Van Nuys airport, there was a restaurant named Lue Lue's Diner back in 1986-87 if I recall. They had the bar area where you could have an early drink and breakfast. My uncle was sitting having a cocktail and breakfast; Tommy sits down next to him. They shoot the shit for two hours having a good time. My uncle comes home, he says, have you ever heard of Motley Crue; Unbeknownst to him, I'm wearing a Crue shirt and stood up and showed him, that was when he realized his nephew was a hardcore Crue Fan. Over the later years, I met all of them in a public setting and all of them have been super humble human beings over the years.

Thoroughly enjoyed this interview, Allison! I’m biased because I love the Crüe, plus John 5 has been my favorite guitarist for many years now, but this was special. During the “group therapy” part, I couldn’t help but think “What if they never think to express things they appreciate about one another?”, but you forced them into doing it, and they probably loved saying and hearing all those things!

Look man.. I am not here to bash anyone or to be a d**k. I love Mick Mars as much as anyone...and honestly proably more than you and most of everyone else. But I dont get it. Why do you feel like he needs to be mentioned in every interview they do? I honestly do not see the logic in that. Everybody misses Mick and everybody wishes he was still able to perform. Hell even John 5 probably wishes that for Mick as well.. He is as big of a fan of Motley as any of us... The REALITY OF IT IS..Mick is not there anymore... it is what it is man. If you can't handle that, then stop following the Crue and move on. No amount of butthurt you have is going to change anything. Your comment is pretty fuckin dumb.

5 months to late! but good thing this is youtube and these stay up. great interview.. I love seeing how they are all getting along now better than ever. i think it has everything to do with John breathing new life into the band and his love for the band and each member drives them and keeps them on their toes. I think this guy reminds them every day who they are to people and it makes them work harder to live up to that at each show. John is totally still a Crue fanboy and i bet he is constantly hitting them up with questions and hearing stories any other fan would only dream of hearing about. Dude is probably still pinching himself..I saw them with KISS on the tour they did together, and honestly. They were just going through the motions. I saw them in Cincinatti. I literally saw Nikki yawn a couple times. LOL .I saw them wth John 5 and they were on fire. It reminded me of when i saw them in 87'. Not even kidding..This is becoming my favorite youtube channel!

I grew up in the same area as these guys and remember the hollywood days around 1980. Here they are still putting out good shows and new material... it's a tough path to take and it's not for everyone (especially touring) but you can't deny they have a unique sound and all of the guys (now only 3) have big personalities that keep them interesting over the years. I do feel Mick should get more credit. I think his illness should get more respect. It's not like they had a blow out, they guy doesn't have the ability to do it anymore. I think he's got way more image on stage even though he actually stands in place most of the time. Mick just has a presence about him. He's the original. And I can say after meeting him (I've talked with all the guys more than once....) and talking with him, Mick was very kind and humble. They should at least give him a nod publicly... Otherwise this was one of the best interviews I've seen with them.

Vince will tighten up as the tour legs progress. Number one priority for Vince is slim down , lighten his load so he can breathe more efficiently . Hes a pro , he knows this no doubt , maybe J5 can instill some fresh perspective and positivity into Vince and his stamina work outs . It can be done . For singers tho we all need to remember their instrument is literally a body part . A physical part with limitations . As a guitarist I can strap on a Les Paul with old strings knowing I need to “replace” them for new fresh ones . or a drummer can bang on and replace old drum heads then replace them w brand new ones . Singers who use their body as an instrument don’t get that luxury . Sure there is surgery and stuff but no guarantees and possible more worse than before . We should support and encourage all singers to work toward staying light on their feet as a frontman needs to be and to help them remember their breathing excercises . Chris D Original SALIVA Guitarist. From 96 to 05 . It was wonderful working with NIKKI SIXX on the video and song Rest In Pieces from the album SALIVA Back Into Your System . He was a complete gentleman and ass kicker and my all time highest rock idol since I was 12 yrs old . I am 54 now .

@deplorablerocker7130 wow! What a great essay. John 5 has been with Motley Crue for 1.5 years and that hasn't changed Vince at all. Only brilliance can be transcendent, only magnificent power can carry on generation after generation after generation after generation after generation… The word is called… FOREVER. Mötley Crüe forever… Rock ‘n’ roll forever.

So... Dr. Feelgood was my first concert ever... went into the Navy right after. Definitely an influence on my life and my musical tastes from then going forward. Ali, I love your interview styles. Your questions thrust past the BS and get to the heart of things. First heard about you with your interview with The Warning.

Absolutely loved this Fantastic job Alison my favourite band for 35 years Hanging off every thing they do. Die hard to the bone seen them 7 times in Sydney Australia including last November with John for the first time. Mick Mars will always be the original but John is amazing and just happy Motley Crue continues to push the envelope. Dogs Of War is different, as often with this band, hated it at first love it now. That is the mantra of Motley Crue though, constant change Best band ever for me.

Vince sweating bullets when Allison asked about staying in shape for the shows lol...Watch Vince, for the whole interview, keep his hands on his thighs to hide his tummy...I am in a profession that has me study mannerisms, expressions etc....on another note - MC is a band that are known more due to their antics than their music. And act your age guys!!!

Yup. Always blows my mind at how many people are swooning in the comment section over a band who lies repeatedly to their fans, plays to backing tracks, & consists of 60+ year old men who behave like 13 yr olds. Just YUCK. Grow up.

Apparently bands going on a final tour means nothing. I thought “The End” was the end but I guess once they got rid of Mick, they decided to lie and go back out on tour. And I’m sorry but this isn’t Motley Crue without Mick.
