M12 is the best wax I've ever used - Full candle wax review

Just received this wax and LCS wicks today from West Sound. Excited to try it out. Update: I test the M12 wax in the 9oz tin with 2 LCS 40 wicks. Perfect pair. My burn was consistent all the way down. The CT was great after 1 day, amazing after 3. I tested HT after 1.5 weeks. It is strong! especially after the first burn. The wicks didn't mushroom. It burned cleanly each time as long as I burned for at least 3-4 hours. A bit of hangup after burn 1 but that cleaned after burn 2. The jar was not too hot with the double wicks. The flames were small and the most stable I've ever seen but I haven't tried it as a single wick yet. As long as I knew the vessel diameter and hour many wicks I wanted, I was able to figure out the wick size based on the burn pool size. It was incredibly simple. The easiest wicking I've ever had. Only con is the adhesion. I did notice it in the tin and glass that I used. It was a small amount of contraction but it was a consistent contraction all around so I didn't see "wet spots" on the clear glass. Not enough contraction to be a problem. After the first burn, I didn't see it anymore which leads me to think I may need to do a small second pour if I'm feeling OCD about this. But I'm not. Also there's a small dip or settling in the center. But it wasn't a sink hole. And did not need a heart gun whatsoever.

I agree M12 is amazing, I love that it is a single pour no fuss, beautiful reset wax. It’s also great for candles made for shops, the shelf life is great.

This is the best wax I've ever used too! So easy to wick and burns beautifully. HT is amazing!! Only con is glass adhesion in a clear glass. But definitely recommend!

I love this wax. Just changed from all cocosoy natural as I was sick of the short shelf life . I love m12 as it’s great for colours but it does pull away from the sides in my stone jars. I’ve tried heating jars, and not with similar results. Wicking is easy and it’s my new fav wax.

Hi, I'm choosing right now between cocosoy and M12. I like cocosoy because it's all natural but after burn solidifying is so bad looking, I can't take it lol. You mentioned about the shelf life, could you tell how long is it for cocosoy and m12? I haven't read anywhere about it

Hi Jeff, thank you very much for sharing about M12 wax. I was so excited to try it. I bought a 20kg and made my range using this wax, 8%FO and LCS wicks recommended for the size jar which is 8cm diameter and used LCS75 wicks and was extremely disappointment. I had no CT or HT and also terrible glass adhesion. My range is woody, fruity and citrus. Not one candle had good CT or HT. So sorry to rain on your parade and I waited 14 days before testing. I’m very disappointed. Any suggestions to improve CT and HT I’d greatly appreciate it. Should I go to LCS80 for that size jar?

I’m very skeptical about M12 for this reason too. It has too much soy in it to produce a good hot throw, which is why I’m confused why everyone is saying the HT is on par with 6006. Logically and scientifically, it doesn’t make sense to me 😅

Hi Jeff, I’m testing the M12 as well. I like the wax in 8 oz candle tins. The CT and HT are great. I'm also testing an 11oz sublimation candle jar with the LCS85 wick. I’m not liking the ring left from the wax after the candle cools down. Am I using the wrong wicks? Thinking of switching over to Candle Science ECO8 wick or CD22. I’m totally new to candle making and I may have those latest wicks wrong too. Kindly advise when you have a moment. Thanks!

I've tested this wax with LCS wicks. It's a beautiful pairing. If you know the diameter of the jar you want to use and the number of wicks you want to use, finding the correct size using the chart is spot on (burn pool for the wick size). For example, I used 2 LCS 40 wicks in a 3.5" tin and a glass jar and it was a perfect burn all the way down. Perfect reset. I even had to blow out the candle prematurely and was worried for the memory ring. But nope! I let it burn again for 4 hours and it cleared that up, to the edge, perfect reset. And the throw is phenomenal. I'm about to test a single LCS wick and ultra core wicks to see how that works but so far the LCS wick seems to be the perfect pairing for the M12 wax
