I tried to move it while it was still running without realizing it was unlocked and so only the cover was lifted. Right then and there a "pop" sound and a spark came out from the top of the unit together with a little smoke. Something must've shorted and now my machine does not turn on. Is there anyway to save it? And in my machine, the power cord comes attached so there’s no way to take the cover off completely to check. Edit: Turned out the cable can be detached and it was all broken at the base. A replacement power cable got the machine running again. I'm amazed it's still turned on after all that "fireworks"... Good job Apple!

Most Welxome :-) The CMOS Batter is located on the I/O Board beneath the Power Supply, be careful and hold the boards & Power supply from edges if possoble. 👍😇

Greetings Friends, from Ecuador, excellent information, I have a question about an error that I have on this same computer, Mac Pro late 2013, when rendering and exporting video in both premiere and Davinci, the screen goes black, but the machine keeps running after about two minutes it restarts or I have to turn it off press the start button, after formatting the machine, the same error follows, I suppose it is not software, with a blower, it went through the computer and a lot of dust came out, after this I can work longer, the error is no longer frequent, but it continues after a couple of hours, the cleaning I did was external, you could say, I still see that it is dirty, I have not opened the machine as the video you indicate , maybe you could help me with information about this problem or how to solve it Thank you Greetings and success

bryan herrera We are glad you liked our videos :-) Regarding your Mac Pro Late 2013 as per the issues stated by you, it seems to be graphics card issue due to which the system is crashing and restarting. So, basically Mac Pro Late 2013 models are prone to graphics card failure due to which Apple have launched a free replacement program with the help of which you can get the faulty graphics card replaced by Apple officially for free. I might be in the minority, but I live the trash can Mac Pro. I’m not a professional in video, music or photo editing, so it’s appealing to me purely on it’s design and more than enough for my day to day usage. Too bad its so pricey even to this day

Hi, i hace the same mac pro. The usb number 4 seems broken. Can you do another video just for the ports/power block or can you explain to me if it's easy to fix. One usb pen was broken and probably there is something broken inside the mac about the port usb. the ports 1 2 and 3 are ok but the system now doesn't say you to eject the usb devices before to remove. And for all the ports 1 2 and 3, just a flash i can see on the icon pen connected the icon of the hd mac. Appear on like in flash when you extract the usb pen. After the port was borned the system couldn't say you to non remove the usb devices without eject first (putting the icon into the trash). Please let me know. Thank. The three ports they works but i would like repair solve the problem. ps there is the possibility that the problem is the software?! Do you have an utility to check the status of the hardware?
