"The White voice" is a word of phrase common for *black people needing to force their vernacular to the normal white voice in order to gain careers.* I suggest looking into the term "Code Switching" if you want more context. (Basically its when people will change how they speak depending on who they talk to and why. People of color can be found doing this to avoid the subtle racism of when people avoided them for their culture.) According to the movie they talk to, it fits into that "person of color needs to fit in just to properly progress" because people still look down on black vernacular, accent, and culture that can make the difference between being hired and being rejected. Looquesha touches this, but its again, that reason. They wanted minorities to give them a chance, and the white majority fakes a minority identity *to take a position from a minority who could've needed it.* Not only that, but he bases this fake accent on stereotypes AND takes it a step further in turning it to some developing multiple personality disorder for the guy. Which isn't at all what "Code Switching" is and even mocks DID while doing this with NO message to say "hey- this isn't okay. Let's accept our cultures and not deny it."

In Hamlet, Ophelia, despite being a romantic interest, had a certain level of depth and was a complex character whose death was not only repercussive but also stole the scene. "got that sex change yet?" Ah yes, because a woman can't be outspoken and still be a woman. She has to be a man or transitioning to be one. Because being normal is being a man and being a woman is performing womanhood perfectly 🙄 So racist and so freaking sexist. And for what? White Chicks wasn't exactly the least sexist movie out there, but at least some of the jokes were on the leads or the craziness of femininity standards. Loqueesha's jokes are all punch downs on everyone but the lead character.

I'm really mad because this movie could've been a good lesson on caricatures of black people. Instead of going to his mom for help about the Loqueesha split personality thing, he could've gone to his girlfriend who would've told him off and explained to him that he got the job by perpetuating harmful stereotypes against black people. Then he could've confessed to what he did, and face ACTUAL consequences while being satisfied because he owned up to the truth and can now go on to being a better and more educated version of himself.

As someone in video editing, I can tell you EXACTLY what that glow around his eyes is. It is the beauty filter in an editing software called DaVinci Resolve. If you crank up the eye light setting to the max, it gives that effect. You are supposed to use it very lightly on people with heavy shadows around their eyes (typically when filming outside during high noon). The filter is not used to get rid of features like eyebags or shadows but to instead soften them.

I mean White Chicks is literally my favorite movie of all time because it's just a stupid comedy made in like 2002 when everyone didnt have problems with everything and is about two police officers going undercover as white women to solve a case, a movie about a man pretending to be a black woman so he'll get fame as a RADIO PERSONALITY, White Chicks isnt comparable in my books 😂

I just actually just got two of the randomest adds. One was entirely a guy eating a protein bar while looking/acting dramatically constipated. The other started out like, "Do you do not think that you own clothes???"

NOT ONLY does this have a lot of racist vibes, but as someone who has struggled with a personality disorder brought on by extreme stress and unhealthy coping mechanism (it was temporary, but none the less an issue I had) I am down right offended this movie thinks personality issues just develop because you do a voice or act a part to much. No way. It took years and extreme amounts of stress and emotional distress for my personality issues to develop. It didn't just happen to me because I played a part. I am lucky my issues where not permanent, I had MILD, very very MILD issues, and even then it brought a lot of distress and emotional confusion to me. I am still, almost a year later, trying to deal with all the after effect of what happened over the span of two or three months. So for this movie to turn around and just imply personality issues just develop like this? Is down right disrespectful. Racist AND mis-representing mental health issues.

Also, South Park beat this movie to the whole "terrible character becomes what they were pretending to be" schtick by years, and they at least recognized and reveled in the silliness of said premise.

@@snapchatseb.gay9942 It could be considered both depending on who you ask. To me, personally, as someone who's dealt with both gender identity and personality issues, though, it's more offensive to me on the personality issues level then the gender identity. I had personalities of both genders, but that didn't necessarily mean I'm trans. Personally it just felt like more of an attack on Dissociative Identity Issues then on gender issues.
