Best part about this: the whole alpha male, beta male, sigma male thing comes from a study on wolves where scientists noticed the way that one wolf would order the others around. That study was then made defunct by the same researchers that made the original article. Turns out, the "alpha male" was actually a mother and the "beta males" were her pups. Sigma was made for people who wanted to feel special.

Side note: it has actually been shown that alpha males take more of a supporting role to the alpha females. (Shown in the Yellowstone wolves). The only reason it is assumed alpha males are the main leaders of a pack is because only men were studying them at the time and that biased their observations. Of course every pack is different though and form their own dynamics.

Yep! It's all part of growing up and leaving the family for a bit, until they raise their own or join another to help out (which can happen in the wild, just not to the degree studied in the Yellowstone wolves); "Lone wolf" isn't exactly a 'they got kicked out' situation, and, I can be corrected on this but I think they are actually slightly more successful on their own because they hunt smaller prey and don't have to worry about startling as much with a whole pack around Overall wolves aren't exactly very successful predators, ranging from, if I recall, a 20% success rate for larger kills, maybe less

As a BL/Gay Manga reader, there are different types of males, and that is "Alpha" "Beta" "Omega" I have never heard of a "Sigma". If you want to eat men then be an "Alpha" because they are the "top" of the relationship. If you want to be eaten by men, and be breed-able then be an "Omega" because omega's are the bottom of the relationship, and they can get pregnant. Betas are neutral, they can be tops or bottoms, they can't get pregnant tho. Also in Omegaverse Manga genres they don't have it called male and female genders, instead there are three genders, and that's what I previously said Alpha,Beta,Omega. Correct me if I'm wrong my fellow BL readers P.S: Alpha Beta and Omega aren't supposed to be for humans, and is supposed to be for animals such as wolves, they use the terms Alpha for the leaders of the pack of wolves, and...etc..etc..
