Yep this was filmed in 2015! I hadn’t really refined my cues and teaching yet so I’m surprised this turned out as good as it did

0:50 ... The 20lb is not magnified exponentially by the length of the lever arm. It is magnified linearly.

I love swinging maces and clubs. I have quite a collection. Learning the right technique, I have beaten my body all around with the mace, which is painful, but now that my technique is better, I’m seeing a lot more benefits

Love it! Phenomenal device. Definitely a little bit of a learning curve. That’s why Coach Josh spent a lot of time with Eric to learn it!

This is a super informative video....Eric Doyle is an amazing instructor....hes like a sensei

He discussed a couple of points which not many mace users discuss A. The angle of dumping the mace to avoid it crashing against your butt. If you follow the right technique you should even be able to swing a more dangerous sledgehammer behind you. B. Why 10/2 is a lot harder than 360.

Nice explanation of the steps to work towards this and the physics around it. I am stoked that I can now safely (and thus correctly) do 6 kg mace 360s. That's about 13 pounds, or so?

When holding the mace vertically, make sure your forearms meet at 90 degrees, and hold it close so that you can almost kiss the bar.

What brand are those mace bells? I’m looking to buy some and those look very high quality and I like the longer handles as opposed to the Onnit or Rogue mace bells.

I'm from India. I mostly do the traditional 10 to 2s. Can you please tell me what this movement is good for. I feel that it neglects the lower body. Can you suggest the best lower body exercise using the gada keeping within the spirit of traditional moves? Thank you. .

Try holding the MACE in front, with arms extended, with ball upward. Like in a squat. But try a walking lunge. Or a maybe, squat, and lunge, forward, and then backwards. Hope that helps!!!!
@FitnessOnFireTV5 жыл бұрын
We like the "barbarian squat" which is another term for what Robert below explained. Also try to carry the mace with a majority of the ball weight on one side and perform lunges, lateral lunges, etc. We like these tools because they allow a lot of flexibility and creativity in your training.
