I took your idea and prepared the avocado a little different. I have made this but I smashed the avocado like guacamole , with minced cilantro, onions , garlic, lemon salt, and then I seasoned the tuna with minced onions and olives . Then I used the avocado like mayonnaise ...It came out delicious .. can be use with chips snacks too. 💚

Virginia Conway less mercury? No amount of mercury is safe. You are making my point. And yes, I am aware that ALL seafood and fish are poisoned with not only mercury, but pharmaceutical waste and other pollutants probably no one knows about... also plastic ‘dust’ from the wastewater of washed polyester clothing too... the waters accumulate much of the pollution. Thanks for pointing that out. I don’t eat any seafood or fish, especially not one that comes in a can that’s been sucking up BPA. I would never recommend people eat that stuff, let alone present it like it’s a ‘health’ food. I’ve been watching people prepare foods as healthy and the shit they think is healthy... I just can’t keep my mouth shut anymore and it doesn’t help anyone to play nice. Pull your head out of your ass. NO amount of mercury is healthy. Keep eatingvthat crap and enjoy your early onset of dementia.

@@OfftoShambala The mercury issue is extremely interesting. Many people on the Caribbean Island of St Kitts feed their children a drop of mercury (to avoid being poisoned) when they reach the age where they start eating away from home. And yet the people are mentally agile and alert, stronger, and live longer than most Americans. They eat a lot of big fish too. Go figure.

Had no idea. Omg been eating the wrong kind 🥴 Also I recommend not buying canned Tuna. Most of the tuna which is canned is not BPA free. In fact my former co-worker who religiously ate Tuna Salad every other day developed cancer. Buy Tuna in pouches or ones that are from sustainable farms. Trader Joe’s is pretty good and the brand Safe Catch Elite those are the only ones I eat. And it’s wild tuna not farmed and is the lowest mercury and ok for pregnant women so you know it’s good.

Great tip on squeezing the avocado but instead of removing the little brown stem and spoil someone else's food, simply press the little brown stem in gently with your finger. If it pushes in a little, it's ripe. If it doesn't budge it's still firm on the inside. This a great recipe! Instead of walnuts, they reminded me of fish bones idk why, I added fresh diced tomatoes. Flavor bomb!

Hi Jeanette (and anyone else who may be interested), I was enjoying this video UNTIL she covered the avocado advice. In my opinion this is terrible advice, pull off the stem, check the color, put back if not bright green? How many does she do this to before keeping one? This is same as people who go through the fresh corn and peel back the husks (leafy green covering) checking the tips of each ear, put about a dozen back before they pick "the perfect one". How many tens of thousands of pounds of avocados would go to waste (and thousands of ears of corn) using this method? When they next person comes along are they going to select that one? Nope. I am speaking as someone who designs organic farms & gardens, has started and managed an organic produce section of health store, worked in another, worked in a non-profit that saved 10,000 to 12,000 lbs. of food per week (from bakeries, deli, produce departments, etc. (30-40 places weekly) that would have gone to waste and re-distributed to 35-40 charities, head start school, church free meal, migrant camp workers, etc. Things like yogurt up to expiration date, "imperfect" bread with a dimple in loaf, apple with a spot, corn with ears peeled back, etc. There are WAY BETTER ways to select avocados (and corn) that what she is sharing.

First, a great - and healthy - twist on a classic. My mouth was watering while watching this. Other things to consider… I prefer to use lemon / lime juice instead of vinegar, or if I will use vinegar, use rice vinegar because it is just a little sweeter. Instead of mustard, try horseradish for a unique kick - or a little of both. Amanda Li is the FIRST person I know or have seen, other than me, who knows how to “skin” an avocado. I have had too many discussions with ‘know it all” chefs who think they have perfected the “scoop out the meat” technique. Pealing an avocado like Amanda did is perfect: absolutely NONE of the avocado, particularly the rich, green, subsurface to the peal part is left on the skin, the part that is often left on the skin by “spoon scoopers.” What I cannot figure out is how come she had pealing issues. A lot of this comes down to pealing / using a perfectly ripe avocado and pulling the skin off slowly. I suspect her haste during filming caused the bottom ends clung to the peal. If this happens, one has pulled the peal off too fast, the avocado is not ripe enough, or is over ripe. Relative to the stem, this is the best way to determine optimum ripeness - but ya only get one shot at this. If the stem comes off as easily as seen in the video, it is perfectly ripe (which is why _none_ of the meat should have clung to the peal - 95% of the time). Also, when testing the stem, use minimal force: if it does not pop off with very little pressure, then it ain’t ready; if it practically comes off by itself, it is good; and if really comes off “too” easily, it is getting to the over-ripe stage for pealing, but not for use. Finally, relative to tuna, if you can get your hands on specifically identified Yellow Fin Tuna, ya just cannot find better tasting tuna. I was a hard core albacore tuna fan for years, but after recently tasting specifically identified Yellow Fin Tuna and hearing Amanda’s mercury caution, it is strictly Yellow Fin Tuna for me, especially if it is seasoned / packed with sea salt and virgin olive oil.

I made this today. Didn't have walnuts, so I used unsalted almonds. Also added the chopped dill pickles and my homemade pickled jalapeños. I'm amazed at how good it is. Though mayonnaise is my favorite condiment, I'll never make tuna with mayo again.

Thank you for an excellent and well explained video, your tips are excellent, just one simple adding, I used parsil instead of cilantro, and also some lemon over the advocados which was a nice change as well. Way to go with your videos!

Ohhh Emmm Geee😋😋😋😋 this was the most delicious Tuna/Avo salad I’ve ever made, just made it now for breakfast for my family and everyone’s asking me where I got this beautiful recipe from...THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU ever so immensely... with me I added a bit of a twist, I used normal, lightly salted peanuts which I ground with my BAMIX hand blender, added Cucumber and Spring Onions and Mini Rosa Tomatoes and it came out deliciously good... this recipe came in handy coz I’m also on a 30 Day green Veggie Eating plan which involves loads of Egg Whites,Tuna,Green Tea and copious amounts of Water(3-4L daily). Pity I discovered this video only today but I’m your new subscriber and loving the content...THANK YOU once again and GOD Bless✌🏿🇿🇦👊🏿

I just sent this recipe to about ten people. I tried this this week. This is so healthy and could help anyone achieve better brain health. The Omega IIIs in the avocados and the walnuts really add healthy fats back in. This is very creative. You know I read the comments and wonder what happened to this young woman. I really do. So many people go through various hardships that I actually was worried when people said she stopped posting.
